We recently wrapped up a home closing with Richard Ackerman in which he breached CO Realtor code of ethics. We were the sellers and Richard represented the buyers. Richard should never have reached out to us directly. It is usual and customary for the communication to go between the realtors of each party not the clients. We left our home in immaculate condition, not even a finger print left behind when we moved out. I function on high integrity so I had pulled every weed, cleaned every surface, my husband even mowed and watered the grass the day prior to closing. We had only owned the home for 9 months prior to selling due to an out of state move. We had given the buyers all the brand-new TV’s along with the Sonos sound bar, and an executive desk. The home previously had ceiling speakers installed with the previous owners which we had never used as we are not tech people. Richard decided to send a malicious email accusing us of being liars and thieves as though we stole some home audio system, demanding we return it immediately. We never had such equipment; it was not presented in the listing, the contract, or the home so we have no idea where he got this wild idea that we stole some whole home audio equipment. Richard then preceded to stalk us online searching for our personal cell phone which he then gave to his clients to reach out to my husband directly. This has crossed a professional and ethical line. If we are to be contacted by Richard or his clients we will be forced to pursue legal action.
