If I kept this review short I would say…simply the best and so uncomplicated. The uncomplicated part does matter. But why stop there!?
My husband and I decided to elope in Colorado. At first I wasn’t going to even have my hair done. But about two months before hand I said why not. So I went on the hunt.
Boy was I super shocked to find most of the artists, if not all but Abby, to have such a complicated process and a long list of requirements. Not to mention costly. Some required a whole bridal party and it was just us two eloping. Some wanted triple digits for just my hair and makeup. No trial run. And not to mention just submitting inquiries with some felt a little lengthy in process.
I knew on short notice my option may be limited going into it. I found Abby by an Instagram search. Getting in touch with her was so easy, she was so quick to respond. Pricing honestly felt like a steal! Abby was even super flexible when I changed my mind a couple of times. :)
The day of the elopement she was so kind and fun during the process. My hair is pretty short and I had some updo dreams but Abby was very honest about it not being the best choice for my length and so we went with plan B. SO GLAD we did.
My hair looked so good! I loved it. And my hair never holds curl but even on the windy day in Boulder she got them to stay! My makeup looked great and was just the right amount of done but not too done.
I would recommend Abby to any bride eloping or having a larger wedding. She is so kind, laid back and she just gets it! Life can be complicated enough, bridal hair and makeup sure as heck shouldn’t be and Abby gets that!

I had my hair and makeup done by Abby for my wedding the first week of April! I am not a person that typically does my hair and makeup so having her help me out with that was amazing! She did better than I could have ever imagined! I felt like royalty leaving the Salon! My husband couldn't take his eyes off of me and told me all night I was stunning! Thank you so much Abby for all of your help and your amazing skills!!

Abby and her assistant, Bridget on the day of the wedding were fantastic! Leading up to the wedding, Abby was efficient with communication and the trials. I was OBSESSED with my hair and makeup. I wanted something minimal and she did a fantastic job. My flower girls (nieces) loved getting their hair and makeup done by her as well. Loved her work! Highly recommend!

Abby did a great job with my bridal hair and makeup! She was pleasant to work with and really understood what I was wanting. I felt comfortable telling her what I did and did not like during the trial. I don't wear much makeup so looking natural on my wedding day was very important to me, and Abby nailed the natural look. I definitely recommend working with her.

Abby did a wonderful job of hair and makeup before a big wedding - communication with Abby was easy and the whole process was a very seamless experience. She even opened up early for us! Hair and makeup turned out perfect and lasted all day. Abby is also just a fun person & easy to talk to, so it made the early morning less painful!

Abby is the absolute best and made all of my ladies and myself feel and look absolutely beautiful! Her studio is super cute and was a great size for the 5 of us to hang out while everyone was getting their services done. We got married at Wedgewood and it was the perfect spot to get our hair and make-up done before heading up! Book her!!

I had the BEST experience with Shear Abby Salon! I booked Abby during COVID & had zero problems with services for my January 2022 wedding. Being an out of state bride, I wasn’t able to complete my trial until the day before my wedding. Abby put me completely at ease and delivered the best trial. She made me feel confident in my choice & the day of my wedding she knocked it out of the park on not only myself (27) but my mother (65), my mother in law (47), & the entire bridal party. She worked great with all skin and hair types and made everyone feel naturally beautiful!

Initially I was looking forward to working with Abby. However upon needing to reschedule my wedding due to covid, Abby showed her true colors. Both mine and my fiancé’s moms got Covid a week before our wedding, of course. Abby’s comment that I lied about having Covid was because all I said was “we got Covid” instead of “our moms did”. Just to spare the unnecessary details. The point is Covid postponed us.
I rescheduled from late july to late September. Abby unfortunately was not available for my new date, and my $85 deposit was non refundable. (Over half the cost of what my appointment was going to be.)
However, when she wasn’t available on my new day, and told me she would not refund my deposit. I didn’t fight it or even complain. I understand that I had to reschedule and she wasn’t available on my new date. Contract states deposit is non refundable, so I didn’t even bother to fight it, I just accepted it.
I then went and vented to my friend about the situation and needing to find a new makeup artist. After venting to my friend about the situation, my friend took it upon herself to write Abby a review. (Which I did not know about and I even made her delete it when Abby pointed it out to me via email - accusing ME of writing it under “a fake account”.)
Abby also tried to bribe me with a refund of the deposit in exchange for deleting the 3 word review (that I did not write) and said “you clearly need the money more than I do”.
Then Abby looked up my friend on Facebook, and emailed me the name of her workplace, threatening that she was going to “go in and tell her bosses about the review if she does not delete it”….
Very strange and intrusive, almost frightening.
At this point I asked my friend to delete her review (not because I was threatened) but because I wanted to write my own to let everyone know that this grown women acts like a mean girl in high school.
Overall Abby was extremely unprofessional and VERY rude.
I’m sure she’s a great make up artist, so just know that this review isn’t about that. I honestly hate writing a bad review for a small business, but the way she talked to me was just too crazy.

Abby works absolute magic with hair not to mention she is an amazingly beautiful person, inside and out! She has a wealth of knowledge in the wedding industry. ??♀️I would totally recommend Abby and the Shear Abby Salon team any day!!
