Absolutely not. Every question I asked was met with a pause and blank stare, like “What a dumb question you have annoyed me with,” followed by a minimalistic response. That is a posture people take when they would rather use social pressure than real knowledge to help people make decisions. At one point, she showed me a piece of raw wood and tried to tell that it was finished — when I asked her to explain to me how a sealed wood surface would have a totally matte, powdery surface on it, she went and looked up the name of the sealant and offered no further evidence that this was actually on the sample or that this is how it would look when installed. Truly, this experience stood out among the several other businesses I visited as the most diminishing and ridiculous. This isn’t my first time around the block and I’m open to learning, but I can tell when people are feeding me garbage. I left feeling like I needed to wash off the grossness of being treated that way. There is no reason why she could not have been more straightforward and enjoyable to talk to even if she didn’t know the answers to everything — and even if she thought my job was too small or that I as a human being am too uncool to warrant her respect.

Star Flooring is the best in Boulder. Great service, and Mick Towlerton has been amazing to work with on multiple projects. Quick turnaround time on installs and good range of products. Highly recommend!

We have worked with Star Flooring & Design in Boulder two times over the years for complete remodeling of our bathrooms and changing carpets. They are the ABSOLUTE BEST. Extremely professional from the designer (we worked with Paul) to each of their professional installers for tile and carpet. All of them had years of experience and it shows. Their attention to detail and customer service is exceptional. We had many questions and changes of mind and Paul worked with us through it all providing brilliant design advise. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Nothing in stock there, as I discovered is the norm for many of these places. Some nice colored tiles. They were not friendly or helpful but perhaps that's because we entered just a few min before closing. Or perhaps they didn't think I looked like a big enough spender. I'll assume they just wanted to get home and consider it understandable.

We had to replace our kitchen floor due to a leaking dishwasher and wanted to get new tile to replace the ugly flooring in a bathroom. Mick was great to work with and the installers did a spectacular job, especially with the difficult bathroom floor. Both rooms look wonderful and cost less than quotes from competitors. We would call Mick again if we need flooring!

Mick at Star Flooring was incredibly helpful because he * Cared more about doing what's right than the sale itself. * Was personal, friendly, and built connections. * Shared helpful opinions and advice when I was confused , overwhelmed, or didn't know what to do. * Was honest about what would work well and what wouldn't. Star Flooring a new carpet in my new house and it looks fantastic. The guys that installed it helped run speaker cable under the carpet too which I surprised them with. No complaints or guilt trips from anyone. My home theater area is cozy and looks so much better now. Thanks Mick!!!

Quality tile, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful service. 4 stars only because of the hours of availability. It would be nice if they were open on Saturday or at a time when those of us that work m-f 8-5 can shop. Otherwise everything was great. It was pricey for me, but I know quality products are worth the price. My new bathroom tile looks amazing! They gave me helpful advice for my bathroom remodel, the tile was competitively priced, and delivered on time.
