Instructor did not do any demonstration or show a video, claimed she was a 15 yr pastry chef veteran but somehow both burned and under cooked the croissants. Class was overcrowded and they had a TV screen showing Sur La Table advertisements the entire time. Not worth it, go somewhere else for a cooking class. This was more of a sales indoctrination session with a side of raw pastry dough.

Had a really fun date night cooking class with Chef Cameron and Chef Katie!
Hope to do another one soon.
Only thing we would have liked/like for next time are some stools to be able to sit on for the 2hr+ experience.

Cameron was a great chef and walked my husband and I through all the steps perfectly! Our scallops, salad, potatoes gratin, and chocolate mousse were all soo delicious and he made it easy to follow - I am definitely not a cook and I felt totally at ease. We would definitely book again!

I decided to try my first cooking class focused on Macarons. I enjoy cooking and really like the challenge of cooking great foods that are hard to make. Macarons fell into that category. I absolutely had a fabulous time in class. We learned recipes, techniques, ratios of flours to sugars and why they were so important. Chef Katie reviewed why meringues and whipped egg whites act the way they do, and actions we take to actually help them become more stable. As a Chemical Engineer, I was amazed at the Chemistry of cooking. And to top it off, they came out fantastic. Am I going back for more classes? 100% yes.

We had a wonderful evening with friends and Chef Cameron. He and his assistant Noah were so friendly and helpful. Chef Cameron is very knowledgeable and made cooking a gourmet dinner seem easy to do even for the most inexperienced cooks. The meal we made was delicious. I highly recommend this activity for a fun, educational and tasty night out.

Extremely racist, elderly staff at this store. I'm wearing a reflective tee shirt and the old lady turned and looked at me dismissively and went back to her convo with the other lady. When I brought it up as I was leaving she claimed she never saw me.

I am not giving this establishment one star, just this experience. My dear friend and I decided to attend a pasta cooking class. I’ve been to quite a few sur la table classes, and have enjoyed them thoroughly, this was not the case though. Our chef Cameron was incredibly rude and disengaged. We felt as though from the second we walked in he wanted nothing to do with us. Let me replay the events from this evening. 1. Not sure if the flour was measured out incorrectly or if we just received the smallest eggs on gods green earth, but our pasta was incredibly dry. 2. We were hurried along to finish kneading ( yes I know there’s time constraints, but clearly our pasta was NOT ready. ) 3. Instructions were constantly unclear or not explained to the whole group. 4. As he was teaching one side of the group that was ahead, he failed to re explain to us in an appropriate manner. 5. We were told to use the smaller cutter on our ravioli, which caused our filling to spill out. 6. The other 2 groups did not use that same cutter, interesting. Were they told something else? 7. We were not allowed to make more pasta, leading to our group having noticeably less pasta then the rest of everyone in the class. To sum this up we felt very ignored and dismissed constantly. I’m not sure if it was just an off day, but I have to say this is not how a professional acts. Truly disappointed as I love this establishment and enjoying coming in here. I hope this is not a regular occurrence.

We went to a date night 5-star cooking class. After reading descriptions we assumed that we would be cooking most of the dish with instructor guidance. Just as some of the other reviews suggest, we thought there would be hot plates setup for each group etc. This was not the case in the slightest. We got to cut a plum and mince cilantro and parsley, that’s it. We were asked to take turns with other prep, which was rather pathetic when the task was to zest one lemon or use a mortal and pestle to grind a few spices with six people each taking a turn. The food came out alright, nothing special, not five star dining for sure. The dessert was tasty, but I would not classify a rustic dessert as five star. The instructor was nice, but somewhat stiff, which made the class awkward. Overall, very disappointed and for the price we should have had a steak per person rather than 2 ribeyes for six people. Not worth it.
To improve I would suggest that classes be framed around meals that can be made in a personalized size. Instead of one large galette make mini galettes for each couple to split. Have griddles for each group to cook the steak. Each table should have their own set of spices to grind and veggies to season. This type of class should have been described as a hands on cooking demonstration, not a hands on cooking class.

I took an “epicurean” cooking class here for a date night. Chef Orel was great, enthusiastic and gave us helpful tips and instructions. The meal was steak, salad, carrots, and pie. Nothing exceptionally exciting but it was all very delicious. We learned how to make a proper salad dressing and will certainly repeat some of the recipes at home.
My complaints are that it was very awkward, I thought I was booking a date night just for us but it turned out being with two other couples and nobody really talked to each other.
I also expected that we would be making our own meal, but we all took turns making ONE meal and sharing it between the six of us. We didn’t truly get a full cooking experience since we all had to take turns. The chef did most of it, we just helped. The portions were pretty small and I don’t think everyone had enough to eat.
We also just stood around eating our finished meals as there weren’t any seats to sit down.
Overall not a terrible experience, we enjoyed the unique date and laughed about it on the way home, but I probably wouldn’t do it again since it was $200.

Overall I had a great time! We attended the Italian steak night and learned how to make our own pasta. Chef Cameron was knowledgeable and had great interactions with the class. The only thing I would change is I would’ve loved bar stools at the work station so we could’ve sat down while eating our meal. I would definitely come back
