Love The Shop! I've been coming here for years, and I'm always impressed by their level of professionalism, honesty, and efficiency in completing repairs. I always feel like they give me the pros/cons of whether to fix something while explaining things clearly. Love being able to book an appointment online as well which is surprisingly rare for mechanic shops.

Wonderful experience! Brought a van we were considering buying and they did a super through pre purchase inspection for us! Piper walked me through everything and the tech took 3 hours to help us determine if it was a good purchase! When we buy a van we will definitely be back! 10/10 recommend!!

I'm so grateful to have found the Shop Automotive in Boulder - worth the distance coming from Northern New Mexico, where I have no resources besides very expensive and untrustworthy Mercedes dealerships hours South. They helped me repair the broken door to my sprinter and a number of much needed maintenance updates as well, all in 2 full business days. They were great to work with, friendly and helpful, and can get parts in super quickly. I'd definitely go back!

They have taken very good care of our Sprinter van - very thorough and professional. All work has been done in a very timely manner and they have kept me informed of all issues as soon as they are found, as well as identifying anticipated future issues to be addressed.

I really don’t like to leave negative reviews but I believe this is important information when choosing a mechanic to trust and keep your car running smoothly.
My partner brought her car into The Shop Boulder based on my recommendation. We are new to the area, and we both needed service done on our cars after a long road trip. The reviews looked good and the website seemed like they were a shop to align with.
We dropped her car off for an oil change, a slight suspension creak over bumps, and lukewarm ac.
Upon receiving the call that the work had been completed, the shop proceeded to tell my partner that her 2017 RAV4 with 65k miles was severely corroded and should be retired soon. She was told that it was not worth trying to track down any issues with her suspension and that she should just trade the car in.
Having this interaction as a first interaction with a new customer is wild to me. My partner and I take very good care of the cars we drive and do so with an open check book. We are from NY where they salt the roads. There is not much you can do about a bit of rust.
Having worked on cars and in the industry for over 10 years, to say this car should be retired soon because of corrosion is insulting. To say that it’s not even worth trying to fix an issue because of this corrosion is plain lazy. I’ve attached a picture of the Toyota’s undercarriage so this is not without context. This was taken in the shops parking lot while picking it up, fresh off of a cross country road trip. If you have worked on any amount of cars from places outside of Boulder, you can recognize our frustration in these comments.
We ended up paying for an oil change and an AC diagnostic and recharge, which was completed. We had informed the shop, a previous shop had completed a recharge just a month earlier. We were told that there was nothing wrong with the car’s AC after the recharge. Welp, you guessed it, the AC still blows lukewarm, so we not only paid for a lazy diag, we received no solution.
Bottom line, if your car isn’t showroom clean, they don’t think your business is worth it. Take your car elsewhere.

Tsk tsk tsk.
Shame on you guys. I brought my sprinter in for an alignment and of course you guys insisted on doing an “inspection” the results of which resulted in $3400 of “dire” service including flushing of all differentials, transfer case, and transmission (which was apparently in “severe” condition). Replacement of a intercooler boost pipe and pcv valve, brake flush (also in “poor condition” which was not true because I had flushed it less than 1000 miles prior), and front brake replacement.
I declined all recommendations and after getting my vehicle back from “The Shop” I promptly brought my vehicle to my trusted mechanic and had him double check everything recommended by “The Shop”. NOT A SINGLE THING RECOMMENDED BY THEM WAS NEEDED. I’d be surprised if they even checked any of these things.
It’s sad because I know many people with sprinters and I was hoping to be able to refer my friends to a reputable shop for alignments and other work. Doing a good job would have gained you much more business, but your dishonesty and greed got the best of you. I’ll be sure to tell everyone to stay away.
It’s so disappointing to see auto shops that fall right into the stereotype of untrustworthy and predatory business practices.
Do not take your vehicle to these people. They will try to rip you off.
I also tried to post this review on their website and it was rejected. No surprise there…

Had a great experience with this mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection. First, they were willing to fit me in quickly, while all the other mechanics were scheduling weeks out. And they did a detailed inspection of the car, with pointed feedback on issues with the car and general upcoming maintenance based on the car's mileage. Will definitely be back for future work.
