Some (but not all) of the staff absolutely profile customers. If a 35 year old white woman comes in, they treat her like a customer. If a woman of color comes in, she gets more of the "Are you actually going to buy that" treatment while getting stared down the entire time.

Sweet and helpful staff, I appreciate the diversity! Wish they had more perfume and natural product options, also larger ultra products selection.

the employees are so unbelievably rude. they follow you around the store and don’t let you shop in peace. it’s so frustrating. they come up to you every minute asking if you need help or “are you actually going to buy that” what are you implying??? god i cannot stand it.

A rude employee there seems to be profiling me. An employee walked up to me and asked, “Do you have somewhere else to be? Do you have somewhere to go? Because I see you here all the time.” This employee has stared me down before and approached me with suspicion as if I'm sketchy. Stop profiling customers. I shouldn't go into a store and have an employee staring me down and approaching me as if I'm a nuisance for being there and that I'm on the verge of vandalizing something or stealing. I buy makeup and skincare all the time.Mind you, I'm not the only person who has had the impression that some of the employees profile certain customers and act as if they're in the store to steal. I never get this experience at Sephora.

Usually I love coming to Ulta. In the past the staff was friendly. Unfortunately today the staff was very rude, grumpy and not at all friendly or welcoming. While waiting in line the cashier yelled at two young kids to stand back from the podium because they were too close and “invading other customers privacy” They were kids. She could’ve asked them kindly. I was also walking around with a perfume that I was planning to buy while looking at other products. The built on alarm sensor started making a loud beeping noise in my hand. No staff came over to help, nobody seemed to notice or care. I had to walk up and down isles to find someone. When I asked someone for help she asked me “are you going to buy this?” YES LADY. That’s why I was holding it while continuing to shop for other products. She takes it from me and places it behind the desk until i’m ready for checkout. 2/10 experience

I was at this location trying to get some new mascara when men with masks came into the store and starting breaking things open to steal it was so terrifying … other than the obvious lack of security for customers the poor employees looked terrified and helpless. It’s crazy that such a large company as ulta doesn’t seem to have the resources to protect its customers or employees. I will not be shopping with ulta until they get some security to better protect their employees and customers.

I was shopping here when there was a big shop lifting spree and it really has me concerned if higher management is taking any actions on what their doing for the safety of their store and their staff, I come all the way to boulder expecting a better experience than the other locations to continuously feel unsafe. I worry for the workers there and other customers. I don’t mind buying certain products online but it’s very frustrating and scary when I can’t find the products I want or quite literally watch what I want get stolen off the shelf and the workers are too scared to do anything and there’s zero protocol for them it just doesn’t make me feel safe shopping there and it makes me wonder if the company does anything for these poor workers, another issue I have with trying to buy products online is just making sure it’s my tone or the right color but I feel like I should be able to shop in a store safely without having to worry about the staff or myself.

have previously had rude customer service specially in this store as a opposed to other ultas, upon reading other reviews I knew someone that worked here and they can confirm that in the time frame they were employed here, they were informed to tell customers they needed an ulta account to make a return otherwise it would be final sale. simply untrue shady ahhh company, take your money to other locations or simply not at ulta at all???

I appreciate what your workers are trying to do but I was shopping in sally beauty asking the sally beauty worker advice on my hair. A worker from ulta interrupted me to tell me to go get it fixed in ulta. I told her I’m too broke for that she Insist that I go get advice from another ulta worker. If I wanted your workers advice I would be in ulta not sally beauty asking their advice thank you please do better.

I want to say that the other staff member, like a guy, on counter manager Jena, is so nice. But there was another lady, she misbehaved with me with so much attitude when i asked the guy that i spent 150$ should give me free gift, and he gave me a free gift but the lady misbehaved that this time if the year is no free gift and i felt like she is a racist very bad behavior girl. I felt like i did the worst purchase ever

I usually keep cologne in my vehicle bc I like to put it on before I go into the place I’m going. This particular time I took my cologne out my vehicle and forgot. The next day I was in a rush for work so I figured I’ll just stop in a store close to where I was going to be. I stopped into Ulta (first time ever) and was help by Cindy. Who was very helpful and knowledgeable of the product. She helped me pick out a cologne that was perfect for my liking. Being in the Service industry I was impressed with her and the staff there. Thanks again and I’m loving my new cologne to add to my collection.

The staff here are very friendly and sweet. The cashier staff with glasses was very polite and made me feel very welcomed. I’m impressed with the service and would come back again.

UPDATE: reading other reviews made me realize requesting personal information and telling people they can't make a return without an account is part of this company's shady practices. Makes me never want to shop at Ulta again.Girl with green hair that worked the register on November 17 around 6pm was extremely rude. I spent $250, and she gave me major attitude when I refused to give my phone number, name and other personal information (I had to decline 4 times). She also tried gaslighting me that without an account the sale will be final. When I requested the receipt, she attempted to throw it away. The receipt does say I can make a return without an account, as long as I have a proof of purchase. Do better Ulta!

Horrible. The store is very muggy inside. The 2 employees there do not greet you. The mgr is disengaged. They seem unhappy working there and they don't offer much advice if any on products. Waste of time. Take your money elsewhere for a better shopping experience.

It’s really hot inside the store and it starting to smell like cheese, it might be from the tall blonde kid though
