A dog was found abandoned and my bf called animal control so they could come get him and see if he had owners looking for him. We said WE WILL FOSTER him (likely adopt, tbh), as soon as that week is up. They called today saying their going to KILL the dog. I'm absolutely gutted. He needed love and a home and 2 owners that knew German Shepherd temperament (us). But he's suffering trauma and air snapped at someone that was not familiar to him after a week of sitting in cages and being poked. Day 7 they say yeah we're gonna kill him. I'm devastated.

Do not take your pet there. Unwarranted quarantine for my dog who was to be euthanized. Given our extenuating circumstances, there was no need to quarantine for a repeat offender in a time frame of less than 60 days other than padding their pockets with taxpayer money. Staff is unable to use common sense or engage their brain when the model doesn't fit the norm. BEWARE!!!!!!!!

We had a great experience at Riverdale Animal Shelter today. The staff was polite, patient and knowledgeable, and the facility was nice and clean. We adopted two fur babies and the process was smooth and stress-free. Many thanks and applause to the ladies and the gentleman who helped us find our new family members.

Everyone is great and helpful. I'm glad they had Hank up for adoption. Shelter dogs are the best.

The staff were decently knowledgeable and front desk was kinda robotic but genuinely care for the animals here. Lost my first cat a few years ago and still a fresh wound but ended up finding a very kind and adorable kitty Reggie from them. He is the sweetest little cat I've met in my entire life and is very happy with his new family. To that note was a very good and quick experience.

We picked up Dexter a few days ago and we're very happy. The staff was great and gave us a very detailed background on him (what they could at least)all the animals seem well cared for and healthyLiterally my only complaint is I wish they would hold an animal for longer than 2 hours. While we're glad we got Dexter we missed out on 3 other dogs because we couldn't both get to the shelter at the same time

The quality of this facility is top notch!! I've been here for several services they offer and I've never been somewhere so amazing. The staff is knowledgeable, kind and very compassionate. From vaccines to end of life services they are the best. They offer low cost to the public which is amazing. Most end of life services are over $200, and they offer a much lower rate. Will continue ti go here and recommend everyone to this shelter.

The staff is incredible. They have the kindest hearts! I had to put down my child hood cat today and they went above and beyond.. I am heartbroken right now, but their kindness made me smile. Thanks again for helping me out during Blaze's time of need.

Doubt I will ever go back again. It's hard to be encouraged to adopt or donate when staff is rude and nasty. I get that they don't want someone hurt by animals, but being ride to myself and children is uncalled for. Foothills Animal Shelter is a much better place to go with friendly and welcoming staff.

Do NOT trust this animal shelter. They adopted out a cat that was feline leukemia positive & FIV positive with no prior testing or warning, into a home that already had 2 cats who were not infected, so they put the animals in the home at risk. After a tough decision, it was decided to bring the cat back to the shelter to find a home more suitable (home without other pets) for this loving, sweet animal who acted so grateful for a chance. Without any warning, they decided to euthanize this cat that had no symptoms & was so loving. This cat would have been kept by the person who surrendered him after finding out the news of the FIV & leukemia, until a more suitable home could have been found. This shelter advertises as NO KILL but they killed an animal who absolutely could have been fostered, adopted & loved. His name was Mouse & he deserved a chance.

This facility is beautiful, the staff and volunteers really have the animals best interest at heart. We adopted a 3 year old Aussie/Golden mix and she has adjusted amazingly well in just the first few days. She was well cared for at the shelter and they were sad to see her go, but she is LOVING her forever home and new backyard. Thank you so much to the staff and volunteers!! You do important work!!

I used Riverdale Animal Shelter for end of life services for my French Bulldog. It was the first time I have had to do something like this and Riverdale made me so comfortable and was very empathetic. Their comfort room and privacy they give before and after they take your loved companion away made the process a lot less anxiety-ridden than I thought. Overall I just wanted to say I appreciated so much how they treated me on the phone and in person. Thank you for all you do for animals!

I have seen 3 different shelters in Colorado now. This one was the worst. If you try to talk to someone about the dogs, good luck. They know nothing about them. Admitted people not working there know more just because we saw their website and profiles. The same profiles that at times are completely blank. It was very difficult to even get a word in to talk to them to figure out if any of them would be a good fit. Know anything about the degree of head shy? Nope. Know what dogs are even available to adopt? Apparently not. Know if one may bite from certain body handling? Nope. This was a joke. How do these people even have a job? We came a long way just to see these dogs, just for this experience. Wasted money on a lyft and time. I do not plan to ever come back here.
