I purchased eight battery motorized shades in 2017. They worked okay for a couple of years. The software is extremely flaky and wont hold settings. The shades won't hold a closed position so they hit the window sill. The communications hubs fail repeatedly. About a year ago one of the shades started going through batteries every couple of months. I lived with the other issues but I can't go up on a ladder six times a year to change batteries. I contacted Hunter Douglas and found out that the motors are discontinued. A Hunter Douglas VP (Ross Garretson) suggested that I should relate the expected life and support of HD Shades to a cell phone. Really? I am now installing outlets to see if converting to 110 will resolve the issue at a cost of $600 to me. The reseller distributor I have is ok but Hunter Douglas failed on creating a supportable product or road map to avoid shades going in landfill. The motors for the shades are discontinued and unavailable. No end of life notice, no communications. I wish I looked at other alternatives and forecast having to replace these at some point soon. Buy something else.

Honeycomb curtains are so bad that they can fall apart one by one in just three years! It’s different from ten years ago. Can the quality be delivered at this price?

Nice products, but the whole deal falls apart upon delivery. Partial deliveries tossed in my alley, sales rep doesn't know where half the shipment is, total logistics disaster. My installer told me this happens all the time. If you want to actually receive your product, order elsewhere. HD is also light years behind on automation.

My Architectural firm for years specified or recommended Hunter Douglas blinds until I spent over $6000 for blinds in 3 rooms. I intended to follow up with the other rooms and my vacation home at a later date. The blinds fit and work well in one room with basic 36"x60" blinds. A game room with 36"x72" blinds are too deep for the window inset and are a problem. The biggest problem and disappointment is in the master Bedroom with two sets of sliding glass doors that are 9' wide. The weight is to great for the 9' length and very difficult to operate. The rollers broke twice on one set and the ** warrenty was basically worthless. I had to find a repair person and go through the process of getting the blind to the repair facility. I was not permitted to drop the blind off so I had to pay for the repairman to get the proper box, take the blind down and deliver it to the ** repair facility and then a month later pick it up bring it to my house to reinstall. I did this twice and the cost was around a thousand dollars for the two repairs. I paid about $1000. per blind when I purchased them. The 9' length is too heavy for the ** mechanics but they sold them to me anyhow. The other blind is not easy to use and I'm very careful with it. My wife cannot use either of the blinds and at some point I'm going to just get rid of all the ** blinds and install a better product. The firm now warns clients NOT to purchase **. It's not just the money wasted but the effort and frustration I have had to deal with.

We had installed Hunter Douglas cellular shades throughout our entire home when we bought it about 12 years ago, and like some of the below reviews, had experienced more issues than we thought reasonable for the amount of use. When several of our shades needed repair again towards the end of last year, I finally called Hunter Douglas customer service directly out of frustration to see what they could do to remedy the situation. To my absolute delight, the Consumer Support Escalation Specialist ******* offered to remake the problematic shades at no cost to us after reviewing our situation (and prior repair invoices). And when she found out that our original fabric had been discontinued, she extended this offer to the adjacent shades in the same room to maintain uniformity. She also sent me punctual updates regarding status as there were several delays due to supply chain issues. I never had to chase her down to find out what was going on and expectations were appropriately set as it did take a couple of months to receive the shades. At this time, all of the new shades have been installed, are operating very smoothly and look beautiful! The company has definitely made improvements to the operating mechanisms and materials as the shades feel more durable now. We're very thrilled with the outcome and our confidence has been restored in the company, so would highly recommend them to consider for your window treatment option.

I bought lined *********************** with Valence for a triple window above a kitchen cabinet. This was part of a larger order, and there is a problem with this one only. They cannot be operated when standing on the floor, as the string catches on the valance. When I called the company I bought from, they immediately picked up (on April 20). On July 7, ********************** to say my only option was to pay additional $780 for a lesser quality product!!! I suggested that we get a single blind and have a chain operator. This would be considerably cheaper than the option I purchased (3 single top up bottom down shades). The company said Hunter Douglas would only make as a triple, because that is what I originally ordered. SO - either I pay $780 or have blinds that cannot be operated. They should not have sold a blind that would not work. They shouldn't charge me more for the same product that does work. If they have to remake as a lesser priced option, I should receive a rebate.Hunter Douglas - do you agree? (3 stars as I had to rate and I like the blinds, and the problem is with your distributor). I did file a complaint with Hunter Douglas but went right back to distributor.

I just spoke to Roxanne about replacing two of my Duette Easyrise clutches, and she was so very rude! If I ever talked with someone like the way she talked to me, I’m sure I’d be fired! Wow!

I purchased seven of the Duette honeycomb shades with the LiteRise system (roughly about $500 each).. These shades were advertised to protect my furniture by blocking out the sun "destructive rays". after a few years if I can leave a photo I can show you what two of them look like - torn at the creases!! I wish there was a way to attach photos. I contacted Hunter-Douglas and was told this is normal wear and tear, and, the cost for the remake at Hunter Douglas is $460 each. I could've gone to ***** or **** ***** for $125 dollars to be told that!!! My advise is to seriously do your homework before purchasing these products. I seriously thought I was getting quality for the money I spent..... Angry beyond belief!!!

I purchased ********* Shades for 2 windows, inside flush mount. I hired a professional installer to measure the windows and he sent in the measurement to Hunger Douglas. The shades were installed and they are both 3/4" higher from the window sill when it should be around 1/4". These shades were not cheap, I paid 3k for 2 windows and it looks unprofessional and obvious that they are too short, not to mention the light that goes through. My installer said that is not right and called the company and they agreed it was too short and replacements would be ordered. My installer came out a second time to measure and he said he had the exact same measurement as the first time. After many months of waiting, the replacement shades arrived. My installer came to install the new shades. I ask him to confirm if the replacements were longer than what I already had. Unfortunately, they were the exact length, so no use in getting it installed. The representatives at Hunter Douglas said what I received is within the acceptable threshold and they will not provide longer shades. This is very disappointing that Hunter Douglas made the same mistake twice and will not make this right. Mistakes happen, but how a company responds is key. You take your changes with this company.

This place has been awful to deal with regarding two warranty claims. First off the customer service person was very condescending and unhelpful. They lost my blinds while performing warranty work and they blamed Fedex for the mistake. In addition to the terrible customer service, the blinds themselves were very expensive and cords broke twice within four years. I will replace the blinds with cheaper versions rather than invest any more time tracking down where my blinds are. I will never purchase Hunter Douglas products again.
