Would give 0 if possible. Lady is kind but this place is a scam. I called not once but twice to ask what the price would be before my appointment. I was told 89$ at first but I had a student education form as well so I asked again and then it changed to 160$ I was fine with that amount so I went in. I asked up front once again before we started how much it was going to be and it changed from 160$ to 300$ this is ridiculous for a simple return I have no dependents or anything. As I was walking out I heard another appointment say to an older lady her price and she said “that’s not what they told me” so they are quite literally getting money out of people that they don’t deserve this is frustrating and I will be sticking with turbo tax this year.

I’m giving two stars because I did have some people remedy my situation and they were very kind. My review is mainly about a specific tax rep and not h and r block as a whole. Stay away from jim b!!! I haven’t don’t my taxes in 2 years (obviously my bad) and brought in all my w2s asking if they could do both years and they said sure. I’ve never owed money in my life and was sure I wouldn’t this time. Jim combined all my w2s from 2022 to 2023 and filed them without my consent. He also forged my signature on a bunch of documents. The government ended up taking 588 dollars falsely out of my account. He also “forgot” to include the tabor, I believe this was on purpose. Now it’s going to take up to 30 weeks for me to get my money back let alone receive the money from the IRS I’m owed. He also treated me extremely disrespectfully. I have never been treated so poorly by someone in the service industry in my life. I feel I could sue him for forging my signature and spiraling this all into happening. This has caused me immense stress and time. Again I greatly appreciate the team that did help me at h and r block and this is not a reflection on them but on him. He should be fired and it is disappointing that no action has been taken against him at all. People should be warned so he doesn’t get the opportunity to screw up your finances!

We showed up on time and our tax expert took almost 30 minutes to begin our appointment. she didn’t explain things very clearly and it ended up costing $500 for 2 very simple returns. I’d advise doing them at home with a a free service to save money. It’s not worth it.

I used their services last year and I thought it was okay to come back, but not a 5 star because the lady last year was very serious and not so friendly to work with, just thought that was a character that I could be okay as long my taxes were done.This year I created an appointment around 10am, got a confirmation message that I will be called at 5pm. Nobody called at 5pm, I reached out, sent me to the voicemail. A few minutes later the front desk person call me with a cynical tone of voice almost like "we do not care if you are a customer", I asked her to change me to a different professional, she accepted, I asked for date options, she was barely responding to my questions and most of the options were not good, until a point where I just decided to move on and find another company.The front desk needs to be kind, receptive to people, good tone of voice and willingness to help to improve the experience. The professionals should call at the time they scheduled the appointment.

Need your Taxes done, see Dale Fenimore at H&R Block in Castlerock. Dale is thorough and can get you the maximum amount on your return. As he prepares your return he keeps you engaged so you know exactly what's going on. It's a very comfortable process and when finished you have your taxes done and await your return.

The absolute worst experience I've had my entire life of paying someone to do my taxes. They incorrectly entered information for my taxes, which resulted in me owing the IRS $1200. When questioning HR Block about this I was essentially told it's not their problem and aren't liable for any of it. Disgusting business and hope they close down for their s*** practices.
