This is a BIG store. Not quite as big as the gigantic, newest, stores that incorporate a shoe and apparel department, but close.
Also note that everything here is wide open, free wheeling, and easy here: they even leave - for instance - pallets of watermelons outdoors overnight. This combines with the huge selection of goods to create a relaxed vibe.
This time I chose - as I rarely do - to use the self checkout. There were numerous stations open, all of which seemed to be well stocked with paper bags.
As a side note, they have a nice selection of deluxe, reusable, bags - still priced at $0.99.

Customer service is very lacking here. I purchased a gift card and it didn't get activated properly, embarrassing when you give it as a gift and when I went back to the store with the activation receipt they handed me a 1-800 Kroger gift card issue pamphlet. I guess it happens a lot! Of course I was told by Kroger that it was my fault, my credit card company refunded me the money but the service is terrible here and at Kroger. Only going to buy digital cards from now on, forget about the .20 cents off a gallon for fuel, just go to Sam's Club for fuel.

Kings Soopers new "anti-theft" software is not ready for prime time. In the past week I have been flagged twice. The first time for placing my reusable bag on the scale after scanning my first item. The second for moving my cart that was too close to the scanner. Until improvements are made or this software is removed I will be going to other stores / using the none self checkout lane for all my shopping.

This store has the worst customer appreciation that we ever see. Sad thing is this store is the closest to us but everytime we check out and get this young lady to check us out she never says a word to us. She never says thank you or have a nice day. Did you find everything etc. Just stares and rings up our stuff. She never says thank you or makes any effort to bag our groceries. If I have to go there we’ll only buy small amounts and save our big shopping for a store that care about customer service and appreciation. All this comes down to store management that hire and train these people.

Was in store Friday - it was jammed a lot of grumpy customers , and woman at service desk , the manager and all other King Sooper employees I encountered where friendly, helpful, and doing a great job in a very difficult situation. They deserve a raise or bonus!Update , store employees still great including guy who helped me check out my Turkey because I couldn’t load the digital coupon -Note to King Soopers management - either fix your web/software to make downloading super easy or get rid of digital coupons. You have the worst Ive ever encountered.
