Matney Park is a nice, quiet park in Castle Rock. It has a small playground area with swings, a little slide, and multiple slides. There are lots of areas to climb that kids enjoy, and older kids find it fun. The bottom of the park is wood chips. There is a set of swings, though the swings were taken down when one had rusted off and broke. There are 4 horses that face each other all in a spring so you can ride horses with your friends, and a little play house type structure. The park has lots of seating, including two small picnic areas, one big gazebo, benches all around, and a shaded pavilion with picnic tables. It only has port-a-potties. It has dog poo bag dispensers to encourage clean-up. The views are magnificent, and the walking path is tranquil. Parts of the park are scorching around 5pm most summer evenings. Watch out for deer droppings in the grass if your pet likes those. The astroturf is clear.
