This is a great place for a short hike-not too rigorous- and a picnic.Picnic area: We are our lunch in the covered pavilion but later discovered the tables higher up with views of The Castle Rock.

I almost rated it 4 because they don't allow you to climb the Rock anymore, but it was still a great little hike. It was very pretty, the views from the top were cool, the trail offered a good amount of difficulty, and there were a few small obstacles for the kids to climb on. Overall, we enjoyed our hike and will likely return.Picnic area: There are picnic tables at the bottom.

Rock Park offers a great natural spectacle. The view from the top, where Castle Rock stands, is great. The rugged beauty of the landscape perfectly complements the historical charm of the rock itself. The hike to is worth it, providing a view of the Colorado landscape. It's a must-visit for anyone in the Castle Rock area.Playground: Doesn't existRestrooms: NoneDog-friendliness: Good trail for dogsPicnic area: There is a bench at the top

Overall: 4.50. Neatly groomed trail with spectacular views of Pikes Peak, other mountains & Castle Rock. Two options for moderate or easy hiking trails. Several picnic tables & portalet at beginning of trail. Takes about 35 minutes to climb at a moderate pace. Hikers going up/down trail are friendly & courteous. Dog-friendly, too, with several hikers with pets on their leashes. Worth the time & effort to explore. Pack a picnic to refresh yourself after your hike. Six large picnic tables under a pavilion.Playground: Didn’t see a playground.Restrooms: Portalet at start of trail ditched with toilet paper. ?Dog-friendliness: Super friendly for your furry friends. ??Picnic area: Large covered Punic area with portalet to wash up.

This Castle rock and rock park in castle rock town is worth visiting for a little hike. It is not too scenic in terms of its beauty or the trail. The view from the top is beautiful. The castle is definitely not for rock climbing. The visitor center has restrooms and picnic area . Would recommend for a little hike anyday. Dogs and pets are not allowed

Beautiful, clean, well-maintained, level trail for hiking, dog-walking, etc. Ample parking, shaded picnic pavilion, restroom at trailhead. Scenic vistas, many great spots for photography (see photos). Shade is limited, bring (extra) extra water, sunscreen, hat, tick spray for tall grasses, protection, you know the drill. Great for out-of-towners, lowlanders, and urban explorers (like how I said but didn't say "greenhorns" there?). Watch out for seasonal sightings of redheads like @jenniferbrownakajb. They're everywhere. Have fun out there.Restrooms: One Honey Bucket Portable Restroom. This means a one person, free-standing enclosed 100+ degree steam sauna in which to evacuate your bladder or (hopefully not your) bowels as quickly as possible while simultaneously holding your breath and avoiding looking into the hole where your waste goes. Tip: Do not look into the hole where your waste goes.

Perfect place to get a quick and easy hike in. Nothing is too difficult. Some of the trail gets a little slippery but take your time and it’s just fine. The views are great! Don’t expect to be in the wilderness but you will still feel accomplished at the top

I've lived here 16 years and finally took the time to hike the rock. It was a very moderate and pleasant ascent. Great views and wildlife.

Absolutely gorgeous! This was our first official hike! It was challenging but fun going up the winding path to the summit. Each lap around gave the same views different perspective. I could have taken a picture of the exact same place ten times and every single picture would have been spectacularly different! The birds are beautiful and the plants are exotic (at least to me). We saw a giant dandelion that my kids absolutely flipped over lol. It was a great hike and a great experience.

Easy hike about 25 min good parking nice views, awesome for kids. When raining be careful about the mud and slippery winter time careful with some areas frozen ground and risk for fall. Awesome little caves and rock seats super fun for children. A couple of ways to enter the park. My fav from fifth st left onto rock ln and sunset you will find entrance trail head stirs you can park there. Pictures enclosed.

The hike up was fairly light. The climb up to the top of the rock was more difficult. The trail was pretty much empty, just a few other people. At the top, the view was breathtaking. You can distinctly see Pikes Peak to the south (seen in the photo), but also part of the Rocky Mountain range towards the west. The weather was slightly overcast, which made the sight relaxing. You could see lightning towards the west as the sun set. I could have sat up there for hours.

Nice, short hike! A bit of a challenge for a first timer if you’re not in good physical shape. Well kept and clean! Impressive rocks…

This hike is beautiful! I’m a new dog mom, and my puppy loved it. The view around the rock at the top was breathtaking. A must hike to do in Castle Rock. -Vega Approved ✔️??
