Big Johns Ace has been a staple in the community since 1904, starting as Cedaredge Lumber with a modest inventory of $69,000 and 5 employees. Over the years, the business has grown significantly, now employing up to 25 associates and boasting an inventory of over $1 million. Customers praise the friendly and knowledgeable staff, who are always ready to lend a helping hand and ensure customers find what they need, even if they didn't know they needed it. The store offers a wide range of products, including Marvin Windows, Therma-Tru Entry Doors, Select Structural Lumber, Trex Decking, and a fully stocked Ace Hardware. Many of the employees have been with the company for over a decade, some even for more than 25 years, providing exceptional customer service. While the prices may be a bit higher, customers generally find the quality and service worth the cost, making Big Johns Ace the go-to destination for home improvement and hardware needs in the area.

Found exactly what we needed without having to drive farther away.

Helpful staff as soon as you walk in and a selection curated not just for high margins but for supplying the community with what it needs when it needs it. As a homeowner I rarely need to go elsewhere because they don’t have something which is impressive for their size.
