10/8 Another great day on the Mesa! Had a bowl of chili at the lodge. Bought new merch. 7/15? Always go here for coffee in the morning after camping. I have had their pizza, roast beef sandwich, breaded mushrooms, and tomato bisque. All exceptional.

I was an attendee for a wedding. Apparently they double booked. I literally had to ask the operators of the lodge to “please let them finish their vows” as they were going to stop the ceremony. I believe the bride was refunded later. That said, this was a huge red flag and I’d be very diligent when booking with this lodge. There are plenty of other places on the Mesa to get married. Are you sure you want to risk your ceremony getting stopped in the middle due to poor management and booking oversight?

We stayed in Cabin #6 and what a joy it was !! The staff of Scott and everyone we encountered while we were there were all very cordial. This is how to "GLAMP", it is so nice not to have to deal with tents etc. and is amazing to have a stove, refrigerator, kitchen, bathroom, beds, etc. We thank you Grand Mesa Lodge for a great Family Weekend and memories made!! We will be Back !!

I'm not sure if it gets much better then this! My 2nd time staying here. First time in the Winter, this time in the early part of fall- the scenery on the way to this place coming from either direction is breathtaking. Then you get to your cabin, overlooking a few ponds. There is direct TV if your heart desires- but there is nothing like the smell of fresh air while taking a walk on this property! Thank you Grand Mesa Lodge for a great stay!

Back in February I called this lodge to reserve the beautiful wedding arbor on the property. I reserved the arbor for sept 21st and paid the down payment on the phone. We were all set and I was so excited. I have been raving about this venue to all my guests for weeks. I also booked cabins for the night before and paid for an EXTRA night we didn’t need, but had to have a 2 night minimum, because I wanted to support this business. Getting our keys for our cabins was a hassle in itself as there were no keys set out for us…
Apparently they double booked us!
During our ceremony some very unpleasant and disrespectful lady (I don’t know if she is an employee or from the other wedding party) drove up on a loud razor and attempted to stop our wedding DURING THE CEREMONY! Thankfully a couple guests stopped her from doing so. As my husband and I walked back down our aisle celebrating this lady APPROACHED ME DIRECTLY asking for proof of our reservations and told us that we needed to leave immediately becasue we weren’t on the list. We showed the lodge proof of our deposit and a email about our booking. I guess they use a 3rd party booking system/person, or have two separate systems, which clearly causes issues. When I booked, they said the lodge itself was booked but the arbor wasn’t (we didn’t need the lodge) so we were all set to reserve it.
They couldn’t find our transactions on their end. I can only imagine how stressed the other wedding party was as they were scrambling to figure stuff out. It’s bad enough that one wedding day was messed with but because it was double booked it affected 2 weddings. I hope they got refunded as well.
*EDIT*
While it was confusing and chaotic trying to figure everything out at the lodge the day of, we were called a few days later by someone else, who did know what was going on. They were finally able to find our transactions and we were refunded. Elizabeth was very apologetic and very understanding on the phone, as she was also the person who helped us get our keys for our cabins. I am very understanding of double bookings, the issue was just how it was handled the day of.
We appreciate them working with us to rectify the situation! I don’t think I’ve ever left a bad review in my life because I hate being that person, but hopefully because of this everyone will quadruple check bookings. Especially for things like weddings!

Had the best time! Its had been way to long since my last visit. I will be back! The fishing was great. Everyone was helpful when we ol' ladies needed them. Plenty of privacy. I could go on n on. Thats how much fun I had!

My brother and I spent a couple of nights in a cabin, it brought back a lot of memories from our childhood because we used to stay there decades ago. The cabin was very clean, everything worked great, beds were comfy, plenty of warm blankets, and the staff at the lodge could not be friendlier or more helpful. We had an absolutely wonderful time!

The staff are incredibly friendly. The lodges are great and gives you a living in the woods feel. The land and the lake are incredibly beautiful. It’s another reason why Colorado is an amazing state. Definitely recommend lodging or camping here.
Rooms: The lodges are small but give you everything you need. Truly gives you living in the mountains feeling
Nearby activities: You can canoe, paddle board, kayak. Go hunting and there’s great trails.

We are dedicated backpackers and are not particularly fussy people, but advertising a cabin as "rustic" should not disguise rundown or dangerous conditions. Cabin 2 has wiring from the 1930's repaired with duct tape in the bathroom, causing a short in the light switch, open stairs to the loft which are missing portions of tread and have a partial handrail, a ceiling so low my husband repeatedly hit his head on it, and a stove whose pilot light went out in the middle of the night and filled the cabin with gas. The shower was disgusting and the flimsy furniture seemed to have been purchased at Good Will. We stayed three nights out of the four we had reserved then left, dismayed that our highly anticipated visit to such a gorgeous area of Colorado had, in fact, become intolerable. As far as we can tell, the manager has not charged us for the night in a cabin filled with gas or the final night we did not use. I wish I could say something nice, but I just can't.
