I came in today with my father to cash a check, and since I don’t have an account at first bank anymore for a multitude of reasons, I endorse it over to him. We have never had a problem with cashing 3rd party checks there until today. They told us they do not accept 3rd party checks, and only accepted ours as a 1 time thing, even though they have accepted past ones from us multiple times. After reading over their terms of service I realized yes, they aren’t supposed to cash third party checks, but if that’s the case why didn’t they tell us this after the first time and why didn’t they keep letting us come back and do it again until today? If you’re reading this and thinking about opening a firstbank account I would heavily advise that you DO NOT do business with them and DO NOT trust them with your money. Customer service is mediocre at best. You will be met with a multitude of problems if you plan on banking here. My entire family plans on shutting down their accounts here after this experience today. Good job firstbank, great way to lose customers.

Nosiest bank ever. Ran a pointless credit check and asked a bunch of personal questions just so I could be added as an authorized user of a family member's safety deposit box. It shouldn't have required more than a look at my ID.

I'm trying to close a home equity loan I have here by paying it off with a larger line of credit at a lower rate through a credit union. Someone at this branch gave me a fax number to give to the credit union to get that taken care of. However 1st Bank refuses to respond to the requests via fax and when I call them to ask them about it they act like they have no idea what I'm talking about. Surely this is a standard procedure that happens daily. How can they be this inept?

This bank has had multiple mortgages of mine throughout the years and consistently charges incorrect amounts to the accounts. I have a monthly email correspondence to this branch to correct the incorrect charges. I've tried correcting the problems in person, online, and through different branches, yet there's consistently a problem. Take your banking elsewhere if you're looking for accurate withdrawals, quality service, and professional communication.
