When I sold a property recently the paint was clean but new owners wanted to repaint... and they wanted to paint it the same color and finish that the staff here recommended 5 years ago...says a lot! “Zeke has been a tremendous help to me the past few days, and I'm thrilled I met him, to help me select a custom fence stain. While I had initially hired a fence & gate contractor to stain & seal my new fence & gate that they built on Fri 10/20, when that deal/job fell through (see that Yelp review), I was left in a lurch to find a different fence stain, and hire a new contractor. After extensive hours spent this weekend - Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday afternoon learning far more than I ever wanted or intended to learn about the differences between wood types (cedar vs. else) and fence stains (water-based vs. oil-based) at Home Depot & Sherwin Williams, as well as through my mom's real estate friend, as well as her daughter in Boise, ID, who worked for a fence stainer, and her consulting with her former boss, after talking to nearly ~10 people, only Zeke was able to quickly, clearly, and concisely cut through the decision-making process for me, and guide me to a custom stain selection. Lessons Learned: 1. Water-based stains last approximately 3-5 years, so if I had gone with the Behr initial water-based samples from Home Depot, I'd be back in this same position relatively soon. Do not want this! Luckily, Home Depot offered to allow me to return those samples, which I did yesterday. 2. Zeke helped me understand the difference between transparent vs. semi-transparent, and another third type (which I cannot recall) within the modified-oil based stains, since this is the type Colorado allows paint stores to sell, due to environmental reasons. 3. Once we narrowed this down, Zeke helped custom color match the photo I posted here, as we tried & tested various options on the cedar pickets I purchased & sawed into sections at Home Depot vs. testing directly on my new fence & gate. ---- If all goes well, I should have this custom stain applied to my brand new fence & gate tomorrow, by my second contractor, who confirmed the job today via text, and if - for some odd reason - that deal/job falls through, I have 3 other contractors available & on stand-by. Stay tuned for results! :-) And come to this location, and ask for Zeke, should you find yourself in a similar situation.”

I've gone back twice since then and the last time in I think the young man helping me was the manager, he was very helpful as well and friendly very patient. “After many years, i went back to Guiry's. OMG what a difference. All the miserable old geesers at the paint counter disappeared, probably dead. Young kids took over. Thank God no more attitude, no more misery. Kids having fun & working hard. Guiry's always has plenty of variety and good quality but i have not been there for years because i never like the service at the paint counter. Somehow, they always have guys w/attitude almost rude. Customer service is on the top of my list. Even though Benjamin Moore is one of the best quality paint, i will easily switch to a HomeDepot or Sherwin Williams store if i dont like the customer service which i did so many years ago bcuz of those lousy guys at Guiry's paint counter. It really was their loss considering that i own several rentals and constantly working on home improvements as part of my business. But now im back as long as those kids keep working there w/their fun & positive attitude. Benino & Sheemus were helping me & they r both great kids w/excellent customer service skills.”

However, the store manager Kym, made me feel so welcomed and took her time to patiently walk me through the whole process. I’m so happy to see female employees, especially in management, in a place where I thought it would be male dominated. The store was very organized and I really enjoyed my experience. “This is my favorite Sherwin Williams store! One of my favorite associates (Jules) recently moved to this location and I was thrilled as it's actually closer to home than the previous store I've been visiting. This is a location that is commercial, meaning that they don't have a fancy setup. If you need paint chips, this isn't the place to come. If you want to buy paint though, they are all so helpful! Everyone is eager to provide you with an outstanding experience but I'll come back to this location especially for Jules. She takes outstanding care of her customers and is beyond helpful :-)”

“I had a great experience with Sherwin Williams. We recently purchased a house that came with incredibly dated paint colors (think lots of easter egg pastels). We were rushing to try to get the major rooms painted before we had to move furniture in, and pretty much wore a path from our door to this Sherwin with how many times we went back and forth. The guys were incredibly helpful - they recognized us, gave great tips and recommendations, always looked for any discount they could give us, and just generally were super accommodating to work with. As a prime example, I accidentally bought 4 gallons of the wrong paint color, and only realized after using up a gallon on the wall. My partner was able to return the unopened 3 gallons, and they even replaced the already used can with the correct color free of charge. When we get our energy back enough to paint more rooms, will definitely be returning here for paint and supplies!”
