The place is a joke any more . It used to be a nice clean and friendly motel now it's ran by some slum lords pretty much said the wouldn't rent to locals but that was the only customers staying there was homeless locals . And the room 23 was so nasty the carpets looked like some one blead to death on it and no attempt to clean it up. The tvs don't eork in any of the rooms. And full of bugs all over the corners and in the fridge. And coffee pot was full of bugs

This is by far one of the worst places I've ever been in, the rooms are far from suitable for anyone even the office smells bad, and it has the worst managers I've ever seen, I don't recommend this place to anyone, don't be fooled by the $45.00 for a single because they never have any of those available they say even though there are very few if any other guest, this place should be closed down or at the very least needs new management.

I have been reading other reviews here and it’s hilarious how the owner keeps apologizing here to people who leave bad reviews instead of fixing the problems mentioned. I did not have roaches in my room and it did not smell like somebody died there (lol), but it was not in the best condition either. The tap had no water running. There were large amounts of garbage right outside my room, so you can tell they have people who live here weekly and monthly (which is fine), but they really need someone to clean the motel- This place is in a dire need of maintenance and upgrade! And another thing, the manager said she would come back with fresh towels after showing me the room- never came back!Anyhoo, the price is low and the manager asks if the person is okay with the room- so it’s on the person who decides to stay there! Otherwise, I would have rated it 1/5.

The large “no refunds” sign in the dirty and foul smelling, un-air conditioned office should have been a sign to run and not walk away, but we were on a road trip and had reservations.I’m not sure who is giving this place five stars and talking about how clean the rooms are.The upper level looked as if people were staying there long term with personal belongings spilling out into the courtyard. Children were running around the parking lot playing unsupervised from 5pm to 10pm (at least). Our room was on the lower level. There was a nearly inch gap under the door letting in light and pests. There were live bugs in the windows, on the lamps, under the sheets, on the ceiling, in the pillows, in the folded towels, just everywhere. We went to use restroom and bugs came falling out of the toilet paper roll.We killed as many as we could, then got out of the room for awhile because there was a distinct chemical odor that was making us feel Ill.We retuned a few hours later to find the chemical odor had been replaced by a smell I can only describe as stale cigarette smoke and unwashed gym clothes. It seemed to be coming from the area of the beds, specifically the head board area.We pulled back the comforters to find blood and soil on the sheets. We packed up at 10pm and found other, last minute accommodations across town.I am not picky, especially when it comes to budget accommodations but this place was unhygienic and should not be lived in.The good reviews do not sound like they are talking about the same place, and the high star rating for this motel is certainly fabricated somehow. While we were there, an SUV pulled into the field behind our room and parked where they could see directly into our restroom window and stayed in the vehicle just feet from our room.Beware.(Also goes by the name Tomahawk Lodge and Tomahawk Motel)

I don't understand the positive reviews. over 50 roaches in room, twice they fell on me and woke me up in the middle of the night. Holes in doors and walls, Thread bare sheets and carpet, deadbolt did not work on door. I could even hear my neighbor snoring through the walls. Was awful. Paid ahead for two nights, lost the money for the 2nd night, no way I was staying another night.

Don't stay here. Very old. Run down. No hot water in sink. The beds we're the most uncomfortable ever. Horrible place to stay.

Nice, clean, quiet and friendly place! Strong water pressure in the shower. The king size bed was the room I had stayed in. Walls are blue and white with Indian decorations. Little mini fridge, coffee or tea maker. Sink with a mirror. Everything but a stove or microwave, but good news is you can go to the office and they have a microwave you can use. There was also a Ice machine and tons of pamphlets about the surroundings and places near by to visit. They also give out some free food that was donated if you like. Service was excellent! AC works like a dream in this 90+ degree weather. Stayed 4 nights. Would definitely stay again!

To be short, the only thing that has not been dirty was the toilet. The floor was a mess and there were foreign hair everywhere. Also the room smelled weird. Befor you get the room you have to sign that you can get no refounds.Do yourself a favour and pay 10$ more for another motel in Cortez.

DO NOT STAY HERE !!! ... If you have any self respect or dignity , Go somewhere else . The dumpster behind Walmart would be a much better choice . I paid $ 130.00 for two night's and when I went in the room , There was no trash can , Had to ask for one , Then I had to ask for a plunger so I could unclog the toilet , There was no Wi-Fi . They said it would be working soon. After three hours of no TV , I decided to ask for a refund , But no go ! They gave me back $30.00 . A few inquiries later , I learned that their Wi-Fi never works. They were very rude when I asked for a refund. The grounds were very nasty , It looked like people drive through there just to dump their trash. The place is a complete dump !!! Apparently , the previous owners kept the place up , (based on reviews) I left and went the Cozy Inn down the street , Now I'm happier then a bug in a rug. Kinda like the ones at the tomahawk motel . So if you want a better motel experience. and stay away from trailer trash, Go elsewhere !!

Management would rather play animal crossing then the job they were hired to do instead the housekeeper does the office and laundry as well as evictions and of course housekeeping.on the building on the other side of the pool starting at room 23 there is a huge crack in the wall of the foundation.there are several different rooms that are down .they tell people that the credit card machine is not working half the time

Absolutely grotesque in all the ways you could imagine a hotel room to be; stained toilet and bathtub, red/brownish splotches on rug and under fitted sheet, different peoples hair and eyelashes in each layer of sheets, wrappers of the unmentionable sort littering the never-been-vacuumed floor, burned curtains, chairs with holes from hot ash, one very red never-been-cleaned ash trey, shelves with no shelves only the casings which are battered and broken, lamp shades that are spider-vein cracked with lights that work only when they deem its worth the time(which is essentially never). Feel welcome to stay here if you like the idea of the nagging feeling of bugs burrowing into your skin and crawling out thru every orifice even after only an hour in one of these rooms. Or if you are a fan of Murakami Ryu and wish to be a side character in one of his books that dies of an obscure disease or a simple od. Make sure this is what you want and stick to it otherwise you’ll lose $70 and another chunk of sanity for they offer no refunds and im now down two full tanks of petrol. Oh theyre 420 and pet friendly tho, do with that what you will

Budget motel in Cortez, Southern Colorado. Unfortunately the room wasn't very clean, according to previous hotel guests, but at least towels and toiletries were available in the bathroom.

The manager was helpful and did provide a lite breakfast. The room was a tad off with a noisy heater and the shower head is what you might find in the local jail. I've definitely seen worse. Now, Thomas was the bright spot of the morning. Great guy. Have breakfast and clever conversation.
