Great place / location to stay to see the North Rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. We also drove to Grand Mesa. Rooms have fridge and microwave and there is a window AC unite that is a work horse. Would recommend this place.

Adorable hotel in an old (yet clean) building in the wonderful small town of Crawford CO. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Great price and convenient that the bottom floor is a farm store. I will definitely be trying to stay here in the future. Just wish the rooms didn't have the fluorescent light bulb overhead but that was remedied by using the wall lights.Walkability: Walking distance to the only restaurant in town (only a couple buildings away) with a few bars nearby. Next to a nice church and cemetery but don't worry I didn't see any ghosts haha.

The ownership is great. Stayed here a few times while visiting the area. Super clean and friendly. It's old school, so be happy at that and appreciate the history of the place rather than pick out things like creaky floors. It's the old West at its best.

Great place to stay, unfortunately I was only there for one night. Owner was nice and very helpful, I checked in when the store's normally closed and they made sure I was able to find my way in. You can tell they put a lot of love into this place. Crawford is small but close to some amazing national forests/parks.

Very clean and perfectly comfortable. We loved the small town of Crawford and the easy access to the canyon’s North Rim. There was an adorable coffee shop for breakfast right across the street.

Loved our stay at The Hitching Post. Super clean room with excellent service and communication before and during our stay. Easy access to the north rim of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and other outdoor activities. Would definitely stay again in the future!

Hitching Post was very rustic but clean and comfy. Great value for the price. Quaint and some great views. Would give 5 stars, except the cooler was too loud.

Clean, quiet, comfortable and the owner is helpful and responsive. The beds and pillows were especially comfy. We are new to the area have stayed there ourselves—now we recommend the place to friends. A charming coffee/book shop and a great restaurant are within walking distance.

Comfortable room and comfortable bed, great price and awesome staff. That and it’s only 20 minutes to the best hike in Gunnison NP

Their hardware store is suprisingly relevant for such a small town! They almost always have just what you need, and their prices can't be beat!

If, for whatever reason, you are planning to go to Crawford Colorado, this is one of the few places to stay. It’s very rustic and rather spartan, which is to be expected for a town this small and out-of-the-way. The amenities are very few, yet with our two dogs we paid $140 per night. I would consider that a poor value, hence only four but not five stars. The owners are very friendly and accommodating, and the fellow guests were there for the same reason as us(Rural setting, quiet, relaxation, and access to the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison), which enhanced the camaraderie.
