Horrible experience with Kevin Alleger, was very much not welcoming and very much not helpful. I asked him a question about affordable ways I can pay to file my taxes. He immediately said you can file it yourself. Like that was the only option he said. He was coming up with outrageous price numbers for me to pay my taxes. By the way last year I never had to pay 400 dollars plus another 400 dollars for each W2 filed and 1099. That's like 1600 dollars!!!! Omg how incompetent. He literally said 400 dollars each for W2 and 1099 form. He said management can not knock it down. Never seen a tax preparerer in my life charge me 400 dollars a piece for each W2 form and 1099 form. Again outrageous and incompetent of Kevin to say that to me. He must really think I am not smart. I was so appalled by his answer. So I request an extension and I do not ever want to see him again. He is very horrible and incompetent. Never again I will go to another location

This was our first experience with this office — and we are not going back. My wife and I are filing jointly for the first time this year, and have a few questions since we have not done so before. We never got to ask those questions. The tax agent we met with, Suzanne Matthews, must have been having a bad day. We did not make it to the 10 minute mark before we got up and left due to the extremely hostile attitude we were met with. When we could not answer a question she had asked, her frustration was palpable. We shared that this process was new to us, and her response was remarkably condescending. Several other negative reviews in this section described similar behavior with other agents, and I don't know what to make of that if they're not all having a bad day. My only guess is that they don't like helping regular, working-class people file their taxes since there's less money to make off our backs.

My tax agent Lynn was very professional and sympathetic to my special needs. It took extra work to get my taxes accurately done. I had some issues that she straightened out and explained to me in layman's terms. The fee for doing my taxes was very competitive

I returned to HR Block, where I’d been a loyal customer since 1999, for tax services. This year, I had an unusually negative experience. I visited the office four times and was assured that my previous rate would be honored, rather than the $405 quoted on my third visit. However, when I returned to pay, I was told the lower rate wouldn't be applied. I noticed the tax agent was not supported by their supervisors, who gave conflicting information and seemed indifferent to my loyalty. As a non-profit employee, the $405 fee was unaffordable, and I felt taken advantage of. Due to this experience, I’ve decided not to use their services again.

Absolutely horrible experience with this HR Block! I scheduled an appointment with Lynn and the whole time she was rude and disrespectful! After filing she said she would send me payment plan options to pay my balance I owed to the IRS and has completely ghosted since. I’ve tried calling this location almost everyday and I can’t get an answer out of anyone. Really unprofessional.

Tax advisor wasn't sure about CO state EV tax credit and did not even bring the credit up to me nor file it on my behalf until I asked about it and researched it myself. She would have completed my taxes without this credit if I wouldn't have intervened.I would have lost $5,000 in this credit alone. The tax prep fee ended up being just over $1,000, therefore I would've lost $6K in total using this service. If you use H&R Block I would recommend being VERY familiar with credits you're eligible for.I had actually attempted to complete my taxes myself on the military free version of H&R Block online, but the forms for federal and state EV credits weren't available. None of the information I entered would transfer to a paid version. This is why I ended up using an H&R Block "pro" instead, which cost quite a bit considering all the oversight required. Crazy toe as well that even the tax pro couldn't see all the info/forms I already completed, which was 90%+.Will be using a different service next year.

I am young and this was the first time I have done taxes on my own. I had to file both a W2 and also a 1099 for the first time this year, and being fresh out of college I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much when it comes to taxes. I had an appointment with Katherine who honestly made the experience horrible. I ended up leaving before the whole process was even over because of how bad the experience was. Katherine was very disrespectful and made the entire process super confusing. Again, I do not have experience doing my own taxes. But I showed up with all documents and info I needed. Everyone starts somewhere when it comes to this kind of stuff. I understand Katherine could've been having a bad day, which we all have sometimes but my experience with her was totally uncalled for. I had to file a 1099 for the first time and I learned you have the ability to write off certain things and I had a lot of questions surrounding that. Which immediately I felt belittled and dumb for not knowing the answers. Overall, this was my first experience with taxes and it left a horrible taste. I know H&R Block probably has amazing employees I just would not recommend Katherine.

A friend of mine went to get her taxes done with Katherine, and Katherine was extremely rude and belittling towards her, and yelled at her when she asked to leave, making her sob crying afterwards. I understand everyone has bad days, and I truly hope that’s what this was, because this is truly not how people you are providing a service for should be treated. I spoke with Ebony on the phone and she was very kind and helpful, and I would recommend working with her.

Do not trust this company to do your taxes. They did our 2022 taxes and did them wrong. They refused to admit fault and refused to correct anything. The person who called to tell us they weren't going to do anything about their mistake didn't even know anything about taxes. It's the blind leading the blind there.

H&R Block at 760 South Colorado Boulevard in Denver has OUTSTANDING professionals — like KEVIN ALLEGER and SUZANNE MATTHEWS — who are highly dedicated to their many loyal customers. This afternoon on Wednesday 11/9/2022, I immediately received WONDERFUL assistance from KEVIN ALLEGER when I phoned the main phone number at H&R Block’s 760 South Colorado Boulevard office. Kevin Alleger was extremely knowledgeable, very kind and extremely helpful.Knowing that it’s obviously not tax season now, I was amazed that I was able to receive GREAT assistance so very quickly today. It was a pleasure speaking with KEVIN ALLEGER and he was very happy to fully address my important tax related issue in a very thorough and patient manner. I’m very grateful to Kevin for his TERRIFIC assistance to me today.

Do yourself a huge favor and do not trust this group with your taxes. Especially Kevin Alleger.
I reached out 3 weeks until Tax Deadline and was told it would be ~$350. 5 days away from Tax deadline, they hadn't calculated my return and told me it would be ~$550. Today is the deadline and I was told that we would have to file an extension because he couldn't get around to doing it in time.
Now I am under the gun to complete my taxes today on my own.
Do not work with Kevin Alleger.
