El Jakalito Market is a local favorite store with a great selection of quality meats, produce, and Spanish food. It features a butcher counter with a great variety of thin cuts, fresh meats every day, and the best chicken. The in-house pastry bakery has delicious pastries. They offer amazing corn tortillas, Mexican fruits in season, veggies, rice, beans, and canned and frozen food. The staff is friendly. It is best to visit early when freshly stocked, as popular items sell out. Prices are reasonable and great on some products, though a little high on others. It is a great place with so much to choose from.
