This is the best bakery in town. Best bread and the Christmas Stollen is out of this world. The service is outstanding. We order on a regular basis and share the goodies with our friends.

City Bakery is a great little spot. They have a great breakfast burrito for $4. To be honest sometimes I just order three of them and put them in the freezer. Better than any grocery store burrito you'll ever have. Their bread is wonderful and I know that they supply local restaurants. Try the sourdough! Their bacon cheese and egg sandwich is fantastic but I sub out that sourdough because it's so good. The folks at work there are all really sweet and fun. When you don't want to do a chain this is the perfect place for breakfast and lunch. They also have a very good French Dip as well. It's not a big space but they do have a little patio. But typically I just get it to go.

Don't work here... ask anyone they get fired for no reason. Micheal is crazy. If you do work here I'm sure people might say something about it when your working.... you'll see. You'll probably get fired. 😅 RIDICULOUS.

I emailed Michael at City Bakery and said "whats a girl got to do to get a good loaf of olive bread in Denver?!" I was half joking, not expecting to hear back, but heard back within the hour from Michael who said that I could pick up a loaf of olive bread at the bakery that coming Tuesday. Excellent customer service considering this bakery is typically wholesale and when I picked up the loaf Michael surprised me with two! And the best part, the olive bread was out-of-this-world delicious. Highly Recommend!

City Bakery looks to be another great downtown coffee and sandwich shop. Opening to the public tomorrow. I happened to stop in while on a bicycle ride yesterday. My buddy needed to stop by Turin Bike Shop and we were hungry so decided to check them out. It just so happened to be at the end of their staff training session/ soft opening so we were treated to freee food and coffees! Bonus. I had the Euro Ham and Cheese. Nothing outstanding however a very tasty sandwich. Their bread does highlight and make the difference over the chain sandwich shops by far. Chewy and flakey. My buddy ate the Southwest Turkey. Another solid choice and equally tasty I hear. I also enjoyed a rather good Cafe Americano. This place should thrive. Great owner. Tasty sandwiches. Prompt service. Good location. I will be back again for sure

A little over a week ago I was out and about and needed to find a bakery to pick up a few goodies for a lunch date with friends. I found City Bakery on Google and decided to pop in and grab a dessert and loaf of bread as I was running behind schedule. Upon entering the bakery, I quickly realized that this was not a stop in and grab kind of place. I was instantly greeted by Mike who introduced himself as the owner. I apologized and turned to leave when he stopped me and offered me a tour. After the tour he preceded to fill a bag with a baguette, two loaves of everything sourdough bread and two of the most beautiful candlestick chocolate mousse desserts I've ever seen or eaten for that matter. He would not take any payment for the goodies and told me he hoped I enjoyed my treats and sent me on my merry way. Wow...besides being the cleanest bakery I've ever seen, with the most exceptional kind hearted staff...the bread and desserts were some of the best we've ever had. I'd like to say Thank you again to City Bakery for your kindness and generosity and keep up the good work. We will definitely be ordering from you again!!

We used Michael Bortz for our wedding cake 18 yrs ago - uniquely Devine chocolate creation. So unforgettable we tracked him down to do a repeat for our anniversary - he did and it was superb. Miss getting it regularly at his old Palmetto Grill restaurant.
