Lots of starter plants for five to ten dollars.

I’ve had some awesome service and some awful service. Like any place it depends on the people. Had a pretty frustrating experience getting an orange tree from this place that they knew full well had mealies. Worker there told me he’d been having trouble battling them that year. They offer a pest exchange within 30 days though.

Store has decent plants, not a huge selection of rares. Prices okay. Service was garbage. Nobody offered to help us find anything, nor asked if we found what we were looking for. The cashier was complaining that the store was busy and that she had to wrap so many plants for customers. Last I checked, lots of customers usually is good for business. Too bad her attitude is the contrary. 2/10 do not recommend. Will not be returning. And will post for my plant friends to avoid this shop. 2 star rating for prices, otherwise 1 star. #unfollow

Honest review from my shopping experience at city floral today. My experience shopping inside the store was great. My salesperson on the receipt was named Marina. She was very kind very sweet to my little boy and had such a nice and welcoming smile on her face the entire time she was helping me check out. There were a couple other ladies inside the store who helped me get ornaments down from the tree or showed me where the skirts were and so on. That was fine. The reason I'm leaving to Stars however is really because of the start of my visit and the end of my visit. At the start of my visit, and at the end of my visit I found myself outside where the Christmas trees are initially looking for a tree and at the end picking up the tree. The amount of attitude I caught out there was a little frustrating. Not very friendly. Seemingly not in a very good mood at all. Almost seemed uninterested and even trying to help me find a tree to begin with. Also I am not a plant person I don't know much about how to care for them. When the guy asked me do I want the tree cut he had to explain it to me why it would need to be cut which almost seemed to annoy him (like oh my God i have to explain this AGAIN!??!) is the vibe i was catching and there were a couple other workers out there a gentleman with a dark curly beard and an older white lady with blonde hair too her shoulders looks like they were trimming trees or something. Anyway, when I took a few moments to pause and consider if I wanted the tree cut or what i wanted, that guy made a comment asking the blonde lady something to the effect of geez how long it was going to take me to answer and the blonde lady started laughing out loud so did he and she said "I don't know maybe soon, maybe tomorrow." It's just pretty rude Behavior especially considering I just spent $200 inside of your store. I purchased a tree from the store last season. And I'm back again this season, but after the underhanded treatment I received in the Christmas tree portion of the store, I may not come back because it was a little embarrassing getting laughed at just because I was considering if I wanted the tree cut or not or what would be best for our situation.

I am never disappointed with City Floral. I was worried that I had waited to long for live Christmas plants but when I got there I was very impressed with an amazing selection. Not only did I find everything and more that I needed the customer service was world class. Hollis and Wendy were both very helpful and really went the extra mile.

Rude! Right after I checked out, I realized that the clerk made an error. When I immediately turned back to point out the error before she began checking out the next person, she refused to help make it right and made me go all the way to the end of a huge line. I happened to get her again after waiting in line for 20 minutes, and she was extremely rude when she had to correct her own error. I returned everything since I was so disgusted, which she then took a long time to process (she even started putting things back before giving me my refund).I have been shopping at City Floral for many years without an issue, including the tradition of getting our annual Christmas tree. I will never shop there again!

I was looking for epiphylum. The owner (I believe)brought me to the back wall where they were rooting cuttings not yet ready for sale. Here's what it looks like after 1 1/2 years.Great shop!

Had a good experience. Nobody was hopping right up to help me, but when I did ask for help it was given. I was there for quite a long time and was wondering aimlessly without a single check in, but hey, it isn’t a store requirement. Check out clerk was super sweet to me and detailed the rewards program. Also they have some really cute house cats. I will definitely be back.

Update to the City Floral Response:Forgive me, but I don't see a misunderstanding. That is what I was told and the plant was back on the floor for sale the next day.....with mealy bugs still on the plant. Unfortunately, it has spread to the other hoyas as my intention was to purchase three of your plants and all of the ones I picked up had the same problem. So sad! I found a gorgeous hoya that had a mealy bug highway on it. I notified an employee as I saw that the mealies were spreading to other plants in this section. The response was, "We can spray it for you and you can take it today. You can bring it back if you still have it in 30 days."This is fundamentally an issue. Mealy bugs can infest and destroy plant collections. Why is this an okay thing to do?

I hired Cityfloral to do a landscaping project starting 2021. I waited six months for them to come out with a planwhich I paid $500 for and waited six months for. The day they were to start the project they realized that they couldn’t do half of the job that they quoted me for because it could ruin my oak tree? But yet they only credited me for $2500. The job cost $35- 40k. The owner of the company bullied me and refused to finish the job until I paid him the last $1000.00. He refused to come back out and was completely rude and arrogant. It is now. A year later 1/2 my plants have died. They will not contact me. The gutter is flooding the garden wall because they never put a proper drain on it as well. What does a person have to do to get a decent company to stand by ther work?I hired them because I wanted a one stop shop for my yard, trees and garden. They left me completely high and dry after giving them $40,000.00 for a 25 foot garden wall?Seriously incompetent company and owner!

I've been a loyal customer to City Floral for a few years now, eventually enrolling into their member program because of how frequently I spent money here. I have not bought a plant from another nursery for years. However, I've decided to stop supporting this business. A little over a year ago I purchased a Dracaena that was in the midst of all of their Dracaena's and to my surprise it was marked down from all the rest. Unknown to me the plant was infested with Mealy Bugs.Over the years I've grown a substantially large plant collection without any kind of pest problem. All my plants have thrived. Until I brought home the Dracaena. There was no visible reason the plant had its price reduced. You couldn't see any mealy bugs in the shop. Within the first day of bringing it home, they started to make their presence known. After so much struggle and mitigation with that one plant, we had to get rid of it, and then the domino effect started to happen to our beloved plants. I've tried so many different methods to rid our house of these pests that City Floral willingly sold to their customers, including neem oils -pretty much every variety sold, systemic granules, quarantining plants, buying several different kinds of predatory insects that are known to feed on mealy bugs, to literally no avail. My collection continues to decline.Recently my girlfriend stopped by to see about some plants for her work and couldn't help but notice how many of their plants were infected with mealy bugs, but are still willingly being sold at reduced prices and no mention of any kind of issue or infestation, to their customers. Why wouldn't a place like this just close down for a week to combat and resolve the issue?? I think they'd rather sell you an infested plant, that way you can keep buying more plants from them after the ones in your collection die from the infestation they initially sold you. At least they'll keep making money. It is incredibly upsetting and heartbreaking to lose so many plants that I've owned for years, just by trying to bring home another one.If you're wanting a healthy plant, or if you're not wanting to risk killing off your current plant collection, I would suggest going to a different nursery that actually cares about their customers and their plants.

The staff is poorly trained and rude and management has no problem with it. I was browsing for bulbs while my service dog rested comfortably and quietly on the ground next to me. A staff member came over and started talking loudly to the cat that roams to the gardens about how he "doesn't like dogs either". I let the manager know. She asked me what I wanted her to do about it and then informed me that the cat has a job too. It chases mice. To be clear, my issue was not with cats being allowed to roam the garden. My dog had not had an issue with the cat either- because he is a service dog. In fact, I hadn't known the cat was there until this particular staff member started loudly bemoaning it's troubled experience. My issue was with her staff making me feel unwelcome because I shop with service animal (fully marked vest, red service animal leash, card carrying handler, etc.) I'm legit but even that shouldn't matter because first and foremost I'm a customer. Even if I had been there with a well behaved pet dog, which they allow, I shouldn't be subjected to passive aggressive behavior from the staff. To her comment about the cat having a job to do, it is entirely inappropriate to compare a cat chasing a mouse to a trained service animal. These animals take years to train and cost thousands of dollars. They must be trained to provide specific task(s) for their handler and demonstrate appropriate behavior in a wide variety of public spaces. Any cat can chase a mouse and, as a business, they make the choice to leave the cats out during business hours. They could choose a to let them roam after hours when it is quiet. They could make sure the cats have appropriate places to hide from customers and their dogs when they are open. Or, they could continue to let the cats roam freely at all times and train their staff not to be rude to customers. I have no opinion about what they should do about their furry "workers" but their human employees definitely need to learn basic manners.
