Went to see the museum with my boys as teenagers. We love the museum and got to see the truck my boys rode on for their grandfather's funeral. It was so meaningful and wonderful to go back. We miss grandpa dearly and stay connected to his memory, in part, through this museum. The displays are really fantastic, intricate and fascinating. Love to the members who run this place!

Although I’m not a kid, I had a lot of fun here. Hop up in the big red Mack truck and spin the wheel and you’ll get why this place is a delight. There’s a lot to read—consider it a buffet and take home at least one new piece of knowledge. For me, it was learning about the fireman’s pole and safety nets. Loved walking around the original fire house and seeing the lockers upstairs and all the trucks and equipment downstairs. Thanks for a fun visit!

I had no idea that there were museums dedicated to firefighters. We found this place walking past it, so we decided to stop in. It was a walk back in time well with the effort.I loved the old fire trucks. The old monitoring stations were cool as well. Unfortunately, you couldn't slide down the fire poles.

Wonderful. Great things for toddlers and children. Can sit in a firetruck and dress up, play area upstairs. Lots of interesting facts for adults. Really nice staff. We went on a day that had free rides in a firetruck. My son loved it.

The boys that I nanny for, ages 2.5 and 5, had a great time. I planned for an hour and a half, but they would have definitely stayed longer.-Fun kid activities-Interesting facts-Easy parkingI had never been before so I didn't know quite what to expect. I was able to park on the street two car lengths down from the front door. There were plenty of spots all around. The self-guided tour has tons of interesting information and artifacts as well as plenty of pictures. There are things along the way that kids can touch so they aren't too restless. They watched the fire safety video, and were very excited to afterward dress up like firefighters and play on the half truck. Upstairs, there is another play area with a two-story playhouse and more firefighter costumes. There was another family with similarly aged children, so that made it even more fun for them. They would have stayed all afternoon.I went with my Douglas county adventure pass, so admission was free. If I had to pay, I would have thought it was a bit more than I would expect, though probably still worth it. We went on a Friday, and there were only a couple other families there. If it was busy, there would not be enough firefighter costumes and I'm sure the kids would have grown in patient, but when we went, it was perfect. The family that entered just before us had a member of their family in a wheelchair, and unfortunately the second floor is not handicap accessible. The employee informed him that there were no elevators due to the historical significance of the building. And I get it, but it seemed unfortunate.I would definitely take the boys there again.

Fun and educational. They pack a ton of artifacts into this small old firehouse. They also have several hands on activities and photo ops for kids. Pretty cheap to get in too. You also get a discount if you’re a ff or military!

The Museum is not so big but is nice to be in a real fire fighter station, also they were able to put a lot of old machines the firefighters used in the past, so really interesting to see the evolution of the equipment. There are also areas for kids, mines had a lot of fun dressing up as firefighters and going around, there is also a space for the kids upstairs where they can play.To visit it well takes around 1 hour. For sure something to come and see to really appreciate what this heroes do for our community.

I wanted to go here for a while and so glad I checked this off my must see and do in Denver list. Admission is $9 per person. If you're military or firefighter it's $8. There are also restrooms to use here. Overall, it's a very informative experience to visit the museum. It's a self-guided tour as well. It will take about an hour or more to get thru the museum. If you really take your time and read every bit of information at each exhibit, it could take 2 or more hours. There are also two floors to the museum. They did a really good job with the layout and exhibits. The building is an old Denver Fire Station. There are also numerous things to purchase at the gift shop. They also have a small section of books for sale as well. I was a bit surprised to see a local book about ghosts and hauntings in Colorado there. I highly recommend this museum especially if you have firefighters in your family or have friends that served. You will walk away with an even better appreciation of firefighters.

This was a great place for us to take our little ones. They had a lot of cool things for them to look at and interact with and they had Firefighters reading the kids books in the play area which I thought was super sweet. It's a bit smaller than a traditional museum because they converted an old Firehouse which is a unique idea. Overall I really thought the museum was well down and helps teach kids (and adults) about the history of firefighters in the Denver area.

I got two kiddos and I'm at home with them currently just figuring things out like any Mom. With that said I'm all about taking them to museums they can enjoy. Luckily this was a great stumble. My daughter is 3 and thinks fire trucks are so cool! So I reserved a pass here for free through Jeff co library system. With that said we came and enjoyed a few parts of the museum. I didn't get to read snd experience the whole thing with toe LO but we got to pretend drive s fire truck and then go upstairs to the kiddos play room. So fun!!! My daughter still asks to this day if we can go again. It really is a great find for kids under 5 or super educational for older kids. They do a great job balancing it out for young to old. I do hope to go again and actually have time to read everything regarding our history.

This was a fun visit for a 2 year old. I will say that there was more than I thought there ws going to be for him. It was a good mix of history interesting and educational for adults but things here and there for a kiddo to do. Some of his favorites was the dress up station and pole to slide down. The kids area was alright, it didn't feel clean or organized but was a nice addition. The rest of the museum was interested but I wish there was more we could touch, might have been because of covid. I will say that one visit is enough. There wouldn't be anything new or sections we didn't visit to need a second visit. It was quite small but reasonably priced. I'd say one visit in your lifetime would be absolutely worth it tho!

My son is 2.5 yo and loved this place. They have a kids area upstairs with games and toys all around teaching fire safety. Lots of hands of stuff to touch. Very good collection of old uniforms and equipment. Very Reasonably priced.

Had an hour to kill waiting for someone. Saw museum was open and got essential personnel rate ($8). Got through the first floor only in that hour. Plan on visiting again. It is still an operating firehouse without responding equipment. Emergency calls and dispatches can be heard from loudspeaker. The history of DFD is explained and shown in some wonderful pictures and exhibits. Upstairs shows how firefighters lived and worked together. If you get up there share your experience so I will know what to expect.
