If I could give them no stars, I would. Quality called me 3 times to verify my inventory to make sure it would fit into the 300 cubic feet. When it came time to pick up my stuff, even though the inventory matched piece by piece, it didn’t fit into the 300 cubic feet they allotted me. Possibly paying an extra $1000 to put all of my belongings on the truck. Sell what you don’t want, and buy that uhaul and do it yourself!

Wanted a rough estimate on a move, when I didn't go through with it the guy on the phone told me to go F myself. Definitely won't be using them in the future.

As EVERYONE has said DO NOT USE THIS company unless you plan on hiring a lawyer and by the way this company has cheated so many consumers based on our experience of false information, padded costs ie they use blackmail ie wont deliver your items making up bogus demands upon delivery and charging exhorbitant extra CASH payments before they agree to deliver . This DEFINITELY would be a NO STAR rating ! In fact this is how I rate them Run as fast as you can from using them ! They tell you to put in a claim for your many missing items upon delivery ie we did not get a very large glass top to an expensive desk and many items were damaged ie two large bookcases From other reviews it is clear most never see their things again My daughter moved to Colorado across country and waited a full month for her things They had every lie and excuse in the book They were emotionaly and verbally abusive with my daughter and I when we stood up for ourselves . If there is a lawyer willing to take on this company there are obviously many victims who would cooperate and someone should put a stop to this company's cheating and preying on consumers

Thieves and so much damage.

Update: after 8 months of lying about my claim, Empire's insurance company informed me "their client declined to pay the damages". Whaaat? Then they reincorporated with a new name for the business. I have a few choice names to suggest but will leave it to the imagination. What a scam.

Warning: stay away from this company! It saddens me to write this review because I have to be reminded of the beautiful pieces of furniture and artwork that I will never see again thanks to Empire Moving and Storage. I used them for my move from Denver to Chicago. Aside from losing and damaging several of my possessions (3 pieces of artwork and 2 pieces of furniture lost.. or stolen... my entire patio set completely scraped up and broken) they were MIA for a month and a half with all of my things. They picked everything up a day late, so in addition to waiting around all day for nothing I had to miss an extra day of work. Upon arrival they tried to add on almost 400 dollars worth of additional costs that were not in the quote that I had agreed to. After the pick up, I couldn't get ahold of anybody through phone or email for an entire month and a half. Finally they called and said they would be dropping off my things with very short notice.. I had to call off work last minute once again. They also tried to insist on cash for the final payment which I thought was very strange.. The claims process that I had to go through for my missing and damaged belongings was very drawn out. It took several months and at the end of it all they offered me THIRTY SIX DOLLARS. I was in shock. Please save yourself the trouble and do not take a risk on using these crooks.

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE! This company should NOT be allowed to operate! I don't know where to begin in describing how awful my experience has been! This company moved me in March and I still have not received all of my furniture nor have I been compensated for all of the broken and damaged items. Additionally, they agreed to and quoted very different amounts on the phone versus when they showed up in person to move me. They are literally stealing from customers and committing fraud! I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB and I am also seeking legal counsel. BEWARE!!

Above & Beyond. To say this company did the job we paid them to do would be an understatement. The crews/company worked extremely hard. We made sure to buy them food and drinks as they packed and prepared our items. Items arrived safe and the price was accurate. Thank you for a smooth move.

The worst moving company ever. Bunch of thieves. I have moved a lot in my life long distances but this one by far was the worse ever move I had. They lied about the date of picking and about the number of people they sent. We had a drama with their driver who came to pick up. We had to take the middle between him and his boss. The guy didn't wanna work . Finally took him 2 days to load our stuff which should have been half a day. When they delivered, right away we found out about a few missing furnitures but then later on we realized at least 10 different items missing. I called them at least 5 times, no one were responsible. They said their supervisor was "out of office" like every day I called. I wouldn't recommend this company to my enemies.

And update: as I've been watching old videos of my previous house I am discovering things that they never delivered. Plus many items broken.

We moved from Renton, WA to Alexandria, VA. After receiving a quote from Jacob Reed at Empire Moving and Storage to move our household goods to Alexandria, VA, I asked for a representative to come to my house and take an exact inventory of our items to move, and give us a BINDING quote. The representative came to our home and walked through each room and noted all of the items we were moving. I received a binding quote, signed it, paid a deposit, and arranged a pick-up date. The same person who did our inventory walk through came with his crew to move us on August 24, 2017. The first thing he said to us was that we had added a large amount to our load since his inventory, and the price was now $1600 more than quoted. We explained that we had actually taken 5 car loads to Goodwill since his quote and the load was smaller. He held us captive of course, as everything was boxed up and our landlord was doing the final walk-through as we moved out. We had to let them load our goods. This company charges by cubic foot rather than weight so when they loaded their truck their was no way to determine how many cubic feet we had. It was loaded very loosely into the bobtail truck because it would be transferred later to an actual cross-country moving van with other loads for the move to Virginia. When the moving truck finally arrived at our home in Virginia, I photographed the load in the truck before it was unloaded and the inside of the truck was very clearly marked off in 1 foot increments. Our load was actually slightly less than the guaranteed quote we received prior to the move. Of course, items including 2 bicycles were missing, so this could account for a smaller than quoted load. Our goods were picked up on August 24 and then the company went silent on when we should expect our goods. We called nearly daily to get updates and each time we called, if they would answer the phone we were told another lie. Our goods finally arrived, by a sub-contract hauler, during the second week of October. The driver stole 2 adult bicycles, and several cartons of goods were also missing. I have filed 2 claim forms through Empire moving directly, gone through the claims process with CSI, the mediator used by Empire, and filed a complaint through the BBB of Denver. The claims with Empire have been ignored, CSI found in our favor, but Empire would not authorize payment. The BBB was not able to come to a resolution because Empire would not participate in good faith. The bottom line is that this is not a reputable business. They engage in deceptive business practices. They will lie to get your business. Stay away from them.

If I could give zero stars I would. This place is disgraceful and outrageous. They have hundreds of dollars worth of hidden fees, they never answer the phone or return messages and they arrive late. They did not give me a pick-up date until the day before, and then showed up two days late anyway, with no notice until an hour before. I called a couple times each day they were late and got no answer and no one communicated anything with me. As for delivery, I have now been waiting two weeks to get a delivery date and no one can seem to even give me an estimated date. The truck driver insisted the office had to give it to me. After calling every day for 6 days, I finally got a hold of someone at the office (they never returned any of my calls even though I left voicemails) and she said the driver had to give me a date. Now the driver is not answering or returning my calls. Don't EVER use this company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! We moved from Colorado to California in June 2017. They did not deliver 9 boxes that included a set of All Clad pans, liquor and tools. Many, many items were broken. I tried for 6 months to receive reparation to no avail. Thank God this is our last move!!
