My review is only for the exterior of the building. LolI didn't have a chance to go inside because it was closed when I was there. Located in the heart of downtown on the famous Larimer street. Beautiful entrance and feel very welcoming. It would have been nice if their hours of operation can be a bit more flexible for tourists.

"Money Can't by You Love... ", The Beatles but it can create a museum. Located on 16th street, the Money Museum entrance is a 1/2 block down on the left side of the building. The museum offers free admission. You have to show an ID or passport before you are admitted. Next a security scanner like the one's you see at the airport must be navigated. There are guided tours which require a 2 week preregistration, I took the self tour. It's not a large museum with just four rooms but it does have some interesting displays. There are kiosks which illustrate what different ink marks stand for and how they are used to detect counterfeit currency, as well as, historic currency which are no longer in circulation. A clear case which holds 30,000,000 dollars in $100 dollar denominations was pretty cool. You can design your own currency with your picture on the bill using a rub on.. You can use your cellphone to scan QR codes to get audio explanations, standard rates apply. There is also a 20 minute video about the Federal Reserve System which was informative but I thought it needed updating. The Money Museum is free as is the free shuttle service on 16th street which can take you to the major attractions. You can get a free shredded bag of $165 dollars as you walk out. I did not take the bag. It is wheelchair accessible.

Loved this small museum, good for kids, shows educational values, some interesting activities as make your own bill, and interesting facts. It made our stay in Denver very pleasant and to get free bag of money and museum is for free ;)

Museum is completely free. Small, good for a quick visit. They have some interesting displays and videos mostly geared towards kids. There's a security check at the entrance so be ready for that. Right on 16th Street, you don't have to go out of your way to get there. I reccomend it.

Excellent stop to pass a little time and learn a little bit about personal finance and the history of money. You can expect to spend about 30 minutes here as it is not a major attraction that eats up a lot of time. Not a must do in Denver, however it is free and offers an opportunity to learn about financial impacts and history.

This place is so cool! It shows you how to detect counterfeit money by looking at it and even smelling it! Also you can see what $30,000,000 looks like!

This is the best quick museum for when you have 30 minutes to spare. The information is amazing. It is so cool to see how U.S. money has evolved. They have several interactive components and you can even take a picture with $30,00,000!

Very interesting exhibition. Most people don't really know what the Federal Reserve Bank is. Definitely worth the time.

Yikes, a one star review for the federal reserve. Maybe Jay Powell can do QE of yelp review stars?

It's a very small museum, but still fun considering it's free to visit. And don't forget your free bag of shredded money -- that's months of free puzzle entertainment. (Don't actually try to reassemble. This puzzle is unsolvable)

Don't go out of your way whatsoever to come here. This is a one room museum that has SOME old money but poorly displayed without captions- which makes it not very interesting. The pamphlet provided doesn't do much to help. Find something else to do in Denver.

I really enjoyed the Federal Reserve Bank. If you have any interest in the history of money, or how it's made, this is a great little field trip. What's awesome about this place, is it's free! You can't beat that. You can also get a little bag of shredded money. It was really neat to see all the different forms of money over the years. They also have on display examples of when bills were printed incorrectly, and coins were struck wrong. It doesn't take too much time, so if you're in downtown Denver while they're open, I highly recommend stopping by.

Any museum about money is sure to delight, and this is no exception. It's small so you don't need more than an hour. Most of the historic artifacts on display are (unsurprisingly) old banknotes and coins, some dating from the colonial years of the country. The rest of the exhibits describe the history of the Federal Reserve, provide interesting tidbits about the money supply and the economy, and promote financial literacy and independence.
