Free tours of a century old candy making operation. Great fun.

You really can't see much as your looking through a window at the entire operation. You are not really touring or walking through the candy making area. Much of what goes on cannot be seen very well as it is in the back of the workroom or out of site completely from the viewing area. Or the areas are blocked and all you see are the workers head and neck area. The narration by the guide is over a microphone and is hard to understand. She frequently directed us to look at a screen above the viewing window. Then was surprised when the camera wasn't working in one area. Also, younger children, around 2-4 really can't see much unless you hold them and then all they see is the area right in front of the windows. Most of which means nothing to them. Furthermore, the staff are not very friendly and very unprofessional. A free broken candy cane is given to every guest. I would not recommend this for children under 8-10.

Rude staff, boring tour. They won’t let you eat your very expensive candy until you leave. The candy is fine. Save your money and buy some skittles.

I was hooked the minute I walked in for the tour. The movie has some great moments and provides a current snapshot Hammond Candy now as well as a historical review. It’s unbelievable that some of the the same equipment is still being used today! Loved seeing the factory floor and all the candy making activities as well as the packaging area. The candy store at the end is magical! Thanks!

Really fun place to visit, and take a tour of the candy factory. Neat to see the candy production. There's usually some good deals on candy in the gift shop, or just enjoy a large selection of treats.Parking: I've never had a problem finding a spot (it's never full).

Such a wonderful place to bring your kids and take their free tour to see how they have made County for over a hundred years. The best candy canes and candies made in

Factory tour: most interesting part of our tour, was the 10 minute movie they show at the beginning to show you the history of the company. The tour itself was crowded almost too many people there to see what the tour was showing you. Further, there were several windows to view the candy making from, with so many people on the tour it was hard to see what they were making. The factory store was expensive and the employees were not all that friendly nor knowledgeable. I was surprised that there was no explanation of what went into their products. Just “look over there, they’re making taffy!”, whilst it was next to impossible to actually see the taffy making process.Hints to make a better tour. Greatly reduce the amount of people on the tour. This will ensure everyone can see the actual factory process. Hang signs over the actual process stations: taffy, cooling table 1, etc.Maybe I was expecting too much from the tour, it was underwhelming to say the least.

I booked a tour for 9 people, and when I called the morning of the tour, I was told that their "new system" had only booked a tour for 1 person. The lady that I spoke with was rude and unwilling to help other than putting us on a waitlist (which I did not work as we live 45 mins from their facility). She said that it was "odd" that someone had booked a tour for 1 person, and when I gave her my name, she got very accusatory and argumentative. I understand that they are busy during Christmas, but the customer service was terrible and I will not re-book. There are far better things to do in Denver than a 30 min tour with rude people. Disappointing...

Enjoyed our free tour! Definitely need to get reservations in advance, they seemed stressed until I told them I had a reservation. It was quick and simple. Kind of hard to hear in the first room, but we enjoyed our free candy cane samples at the end.

Awesome place, awesome tradition, great treats. They have a wide variety of treats and gifts in the gift shop. The equipment is amazing. Making the candy stems from a long tradition. You must do the tour. If you are looking for unique candy or gifts, Hammond's is the place to go.

Good tour. The candy is ok but I’m not the hugest hard candy person. We got some candy in the store after. I liked that they had lots of organic options with no artificial dyes.
