I had an appointment at this location last week. I was just looking through the reviews and saw that someone else also walked out of their appointment. Let’s start from the beginning.
I had an appointment at 1 o’clock. When I got there, there were three people in front of me, and the girl sitting at the front desk, looked at the guy standing in front of me and looked at me and said “look you both might want to sit down because I’m just gonna tell you I’m gonna do her first.” She was speaking about the elderly lady sitting in the chairs.
The elderly lady was really upset that they were scanning all of her documents onto the computer. I honestly don’t know if I remember H&R Block doing that before, maybe they have but I don’t know. But this lady was visibly upset because she said she was unaware that they would be scanning them that they had never done that before. Instead of explaining it to her, and trying to make her understand, I feel like the staff was incredibly rude and dismissive to her and her feelings, even if she was being a little difficult. Elderly people aren’t used to technology and the way things are done now, and just a little explanation goes a long way and a little consideration and kindness.
I was eventually placed with a woman about 20 minutes after my 1 o’clock appointment. From the get-go this woman was not pleasant. She had a Russian accent or something like it. Czech maybe? Anyways. She was rude. So rude. My company only mailed me my health insurance W-2, and not my regular W-2. My other job that I had sent me my regular W-2 and I had that. So when she was scanning my things into the computer, she was asking me if I had another W-2 because this was just a health insurance one. She then looked at my other W-2 for my second job, which had only made a few thousand dollars and she looked me in the face and said “no one can live off of *she said the amount on my w2* this can’t be your only W-2.” To which I told her I had two jobs at two different hospitals I’m aware that one is much less than the other one it was a side job but also, Do I really need to be telling this woman all of my employment history and personal life things just because my company made a mistake and didn’t send me a regular W-2 just my health insurance W-2? All I had to do was get a copy of it from my job and print it out. Which I told her I would need to do.
She the. Goes “look, it’s already April. You don’t have time”
I’ve been going to H&R Block for at least the last 6 to 7 years. I’ve never had an experience like this most of my Experiences have been very pleasant. I ended up getting up and walking out of this appointment just because first and foremost I felt that my tax consultant was incredibly rude and dismissive, And also, just because I didn’t feel like this location had the same vibe and feel as the other H&R blocks that I’ve been to in the past.
I will say I’m a little disappointed with H&R Block as a whole this year. I made an appointment at the location. I went to last year and I even got some attitude from them as well. I honestly think next year I’ll just be doing TurboTax.

I had an appointment today at 1 and nobody is at the office— called the main customer service and nobody can figure it out….other people are at the office trying.
Update: Multiple folks from the office called me back a few days later, including Kevin and Donna who were very kind and took the time to help resolve the mix up.

I'm currently in the process of buying a condo an I accidentally left my ID on the desk instead of them calling that day to inform me that its there they never did I left 4 hours before closing an the office was absolutely epmty of customers i tried calling the very next day to see if I left it and I was constantly Transferred to another office I spent a whole work day trying to get ahold of someone in this office an got no where an not to mention when I showed up they did the least they could to try an help me print out my tax returns then on the 4th day of having my ID they called laughing an joking about it I almost lost my deal an had to switch to a different loan they had a full my ID for a full 3 days before informing me they had it this office desperately needs to closed an re-staffed there's always angry people complaining about inconsistent work an care an proformance an they delayed my closing date thank God it wasn't lost altogether to their lack of judgment this experience has really changed how I look at this company an i Will leave a complaint with better business too this is absolutely ridiculous you couldn't call me with a empty office to tell me I left my ID

I worked with Norma briefly, and from the beginning she was incredibly rude and I ended up walking out of the appointment which I’ve never done before. I took a half day off work for this and it was a big waste of my time and left me feeling demoralized. Not only did she not bother to try and explain things to me, she started the appointment by gaslighting me over and over even though I hadn’t introduced the issue I wanted to discuss yet. She even told me there was no internet available even though I showed her the H&R Guest wifi showing up on my computer. Who lies about something like that?
It’s really unfortunate because the woman I spoke with by phone on Saturday to set up this appointment was incredibly kind and helpful. I consider myself a reasonable and respectful person and did not deserve to be treated so poorly. I ended up speaking with the Colorado Dept of Revenue directly by phone while still in the H&R Block office parking lot and they were incredibly helpful and kind. It was such a stark contrast to the experience I had with the woman who was supposed to be helping me at H&R Block.

Horrible experience. I have been trying to get my 1040X and other tax-related items completed. I have filed several complaints. The office/district manager, Jennifer, is highly unprofessional.

Misleading information and very rude customer service from the elder white lady working there. I was told to make an appointment to have my refund reissued. When I get there no one can help me. I wasted my time and money.

We have been seeing Donna Ring Jordan for a few years now. She is so kind and helpful. Her patience and confidence makes getting our confusing taxes done so much easier. Highly recommend making an appt with her as she books out fast. I like that she is the head honcho there and all the other people go to her for their questions because she is so experienced and knowledgeable. Donna is great and we will see her again next year!

I've been visiting H&R Block on S Broadway in Denver for 3 years running. It's staffed by subject matter experts and I have nothing bad to say about my experience.
The peace of mind of having a an expert H&R Block tax preparer surpasses their fee.
What took Beth, Tax Analyst, 35 minutes to complete would've taken me 3.5 days. Go with confidence.
