We have had mostly positive experiences during our first year at IBCS. We were attracted to and appreciate the commitment to diversity, respect for unique learning styles, and the global nature of the school. I have a son with special needs and the faculty and staff have gone above and beyond to provide an adequate learning environment for my son.

This school has great environment but they have classification of human which I don't like. They need to treat every human the same, I have two kids in IBS who were born in Japan and lived there all of their lives, they came here last year 2016 to continue their education in America here and Isabella bird was a place a friend recommended us because they speak only Japanese language, my kids don't want to attend this school again especially my girl in 5th grade, she always complain to me that is the same like Japan there is no difference, the discrimination is too much for her sometimes. She thought America is different from Japan when it comes to unity but no and her heart is broken because this world is so evil. Even me the mother has seen a lot of discrimination and disrespecting anytime I go to the school and meetings so I just decided to stop going for any activities in IBS. My daughter in 5th grade teacher never knew me and when she sees me and I greet her, she don't respond to me and greet only my daughter and leave me the mother which shouldn't be so, a teacher is like a family to her students and needs to be united to their parents to let them know their kids activities in his or her class. I wish humanity will stop been evil to bring unity and prosperity to this beautiful world.( And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.Mark 12:31 KJV )

We have two children at Isabella Bird and absolutely love it. Leadership is everything and there are three great leaders at IzzyB. They have built this school from the ground up with a philosophy that creates a loving, well-rounded child. They've hired some of the best teachers I've ever encountered. The facility is amazing and brand new with library, art studio, performing arts stage, Spanish, music and everything you could ask for in an elementary school.

We Love Izzi B, the school, the staff and the leadership team.We are so lucky to have a public school of this caliber in our neighborhood. A school that teaches the Whole Being, academically, socially and emotionally. A school that matches their approach to each kid. Every kid counts at this school! We have been with the school for 2 years, our first year was a challenging year because our kid had some specific needs, we received nothing but support and "think outside the box" solutions from the teachers and leadership team. Our son is thriving academically and socially, he is happy, confident and loves learning and going to school.

We have two kids at IBCS and are a founding family. We absolutely love the school and the leadership! There is much intention behind the hiring, development of curriculum, behavior management and communication approaches, the school schedule and most everything at the school. It truly feels like a community working together for a greater good! Our kids are thriving and growing (in math, literacy, science, and their overall joy and risk-taking in learning). Having spent much time as a volunteer, the other kids in their classes are thriving as well. We feel quite lucky to have found a school that brings their vision to fruition for development of life-long-learners and strong globally-minded community members!

The low Google reviews on Izzy B surprised me, because I've yet to meet a fellow parent that doesn't love the school-- though granted, we are new. My son started kindergarten just over a month ago. The staff has exceeded our expectations so far and I'm very impressed with how much (and how quickly!) our son is learning. The administration has been warm, welcoming and accessible. Best of all, my introverted son (who tends to be a bit moody and struggles with new situations) comes home every day with a smile on his face. He is excited to talk to me about his day, and as a parent that is a big win.

If you want your child to sit down, shut up, and do exactly what they're told, this is not the school for you. If you want your child to develop a sense of community and responsibility, and to become a good citizen and student because it's the best thing for everyone (not because he/she is told to), then this is the school for you. Izzi B has created a unique environment in which children can grow emotionally as well as excel academically. The leadership have put together a superb staff that is flexible to students' and parents' needs, and treats every child as an individual. We could not possibly be happier, and could not imagine sending our children anywhere else. The kids that matriculate through this school will be equipped and motivated to change the world for the better.

This school is fantastic! My daughter is quickly learning Spanish and has found a new love of books. I love that her teacher took the time to come to our house to visit with our daughter before school even started. She enjoys her after school program and I have only had pleasant interactions with the staff.
