I had a terrible experience with Ivan the morning of June 19th 2025. I went in to do my daily shopping and Ivan insinuated that I was STEALING milk, juice, and a bag of cuties. I mentioned that it was poor of him to be watching me and not the two gentlemen ACTIVELY trying to steal. His response? “ i can do whatever i want” I feel bad for Francine given she was the active manager on duty. She has absolutely no control of the front end. this all happens in-front of the security guard! She (security guard) never asked me to leave and never once asked for my receipt; so clearly she SAW that I was not stealing. Please review the theft and safety policy with Ivan. I would also like to know what roll at King Soopers allows you do have such freedom and flexibility. I am sure that’s a GREAT hiring point. I would also like to add, i did try to reach out to the store director but he hung up on me while trying to get his name.

I attempted to return 3 separate dog food boxes on 6/21/24, without a receipt. The customer service and morning store manager, the main manager, told me that without a receipt they cannot help. No compassion at all for the deceased dog, by the way. I asked whether they can find these items with my credit card or my king soopers card, they said no.
I contacted the Kroger corporate office, discussed this issue. The Kroger customer representative sent me the policy for returning without a receipt for larger $ items, basically you are able to return but they, king soopers, will give you a store gift card.
I returned on 7/7/24, at which time I shared this information from the Kroger corporate office, Again, they- the shift manager at 315 pm, said that they don't care what the Kroger policy is, that this store at 890 s monaco, Denver will not follow this policy.
SHAME, my family spends hundreds of $ at this store weekly, and after 20 years of loyalty, this King Soopers turned its back to us.
I will try reaching out to the corporate office again and see if they have any resolve, otherwise, I'll probably just donate this dog food.
Also, we are no longer shopping at this store, I'll try Safeway

At least it wasn't crowded today, which was nice. Lots more self check outs than last time I was there. Found everything I needed, so that was nice too.

Worst king soopers, hands down. It’s the closest store to my house but I now drive further to avoid this place. Rude employees, empty shelves, and there are never any carts. I always walk in and have to walk back out to the parking lot to find a cart. Whoever is running this store is doing a horrible job.

The clerk at the store has gone out of his way to make me feel comfortable and welcome. His name is Lou and he is great!

I like King Soopers, good selection of food, veg and fruit always fresh. The only negative is sometimes the store seems to be a bit understaffed.

The dirt mall of King Soopers stores. It's basically in a constant state of chaos. Watch out getting into the parking lot: you'll either dodge mass congregations of disrespectful high school students, or panhandlers that assume fully blocking an entrance is sure to get a dollar.
Assuming for a minute you've found a cart inside and didn't have to search the lot for one yourself, and that the cart is actually operable and not a giant bumpy noisemaker, there's lots of empty shelves, with lots of aisle space taken up by stocking boxes and carts, that aren't actually being stocked. They exist to ensure you can't even get a small cart down the aisle. This includes frozen foods, left out on the floor while employees chit chat instead. Extra bonus: you have to shove the full boxes of formerly frozen O'Reida potatoes out of the way to actually open the freezer.
The meat counter is gone now, and along with it went any semblance of a meat department at all. Unless you want basic chicken breasts or ground beef, don't get your meat here. They don't have it anymore. But so glad they have a whole wine aisle instead. Same thing with anything from the pharmacy section, especially pain killers and vitamins. Odds are they're out of stock and will be for eternity.
Stretch before shopping here. You'll need to be limber to dodge the online order carts, as those carts, and the people who work them, simply do not care what's in the way. They will run you over without a thought.
Checkout? Ha! They won't have a single check stand open, and of the self checks they do have, half of them are closed while there's a disjointed line of 25 people waiting to check out, while the very old (but very nice) person they have attending the remaining 6 does his level best to try and help people at a glacial pace, and is wholly ineffective at it.
King Soopers is bad in general, but this store is the worst of them.

Change your closing time if it's not accurate. Needed one thing, they closed doors at 10:50.
