In short, you don’t want to live here. This place may be more affordable and it’s a nice property, but the problems you’ll have will not justify what you’re spending. After 2 years at Lex, being at my new place has felt like a curse being lifted. I do think it’s important to share my experience for anyone thinking about renting here, I’ll try and stay objective.
You will be without water often - In two years, I have over 70 email notifications regarding water shut offs. These are only the times the property has announced the shutoffs, typically you receive no notice. Expect at best to be without water monthly, and at worst, weekly.
Crime and safety are major problems - Day one, I caught people stealing out of my moving truck. I walked in our stairwell to a man smoking meth not 15 feet from my apartment, he was living there. My car was broken into in the garage, as well as four of my neighbors that park beside me, some multiple times. In July there was a major drug bust in the complex. Look into the crime history of Lex and you’ll find some of the drug and homicide reports. All of this comes included with your monthly security fee.
There is no air conditioning - Take a tour in the summer and you’ll see what I mean. In the leasing office they’ve installed three AC units there to keep you cozy while you sign, but the “chiller” system in your apartment will not be anything other than a fan.
Complete Lack of Cleanliness - I have to hammer this point down, this place is dirty and it smells like an old bowling alley. A large portion of blame is on the residents, but Lex does less than the bare minimum when it comes to cleaning.
Parking/garage situations are awful - The garage is full of broken glass, metal shavings, trash, and abandoned belongings from previous tenants. In the winter, it’s also full of water dripping from the walls and ceilings, right onto your parking space if you’re lucky. However, if you’re not willing to pay $80+ a month to park in the dirty, unmonitored, unprotected garage, good luck parking anywhere at all. Go check out Crestmoor Park across the road and see how many people are parking there.
Bugs - The first unit I was moved into was so infested with roaches, I had one crawl into the beverage I was actively drinking while filling the inventory report. I grabbed another only to have it happen a second time. I couldn’t sleep there my first night, or shower for that matter, the water was off that day. They moved me into a new unit without bugs, which is great. I only had to deal with them in the common areas from that point forward.
Laundry - $2 to wash and $2 to dry each time using filthy, antiquated, and often broken appliances that are shared by 10 units each.
Bad management - Emergency work orders take 2 weeks to resolve. If you call the leasing office, you’ll get sent to an off-site message service and will not be called back. I had an agent walk into my apartment, no knock, to show a potential resident my apartment while I was in bed with my girlfriend. I moved out over a month ago and I’ve heard nothing about my deposit. Every communication with management makes you feel like you’re a burden to bear.

Welcome to the smoke-free apartment complex—well, only on paper. If you enjoy the scent of cigarettes with your morning coffee, you're in luck! Despite the 'strict' smoke-free policy, the local workers love to light up right outside my townhome. But don’t worry, management has a foolproof solution! They’ve asked me to take pictures of the smokers, as if I’m now their official anti-smoking photographer. Spoiler alert, after you send the pictures, they still can't do anything about it. So, if you're considering moving here and prefer fresh air without having to document it yourself, you might want to think twice. Five stars for photo ops, zero stars for actually enforcing the rules!"

We are so impressed with the tour with Mary Richardson. She is so patience in answering all our question regarding the apt. Very friendly & always with smile that makes us feel at home. She does pretty good job on the renovation of the apt. & we love it. I wish all managers would be like her. I would give her 10 as a rating on her performance. Thank you Mary for helping us on the tour. We love the place.

Customer service is awful , parking lot is not available all time, at the first time it looks so good to live here but it is not, vile employees that don't guide you correctly. I called many times for my rent portal issue, but they didn't call me back. I can say I am regretful to be here
I hope they solve problems as fast as they can

Mariah was so helpful and receptive to my move out process! I felt a weight lifted from my shoulders and I’m sad I have to move from this beautiful apartment complex.

I live here currently. While the apartments themselves are beautiful, staff is neglectful. I’ve called a couple times with maintenance needs, or asking where I can park my car without getting towed only to get no help. (this was after blocking off an entire lot when parking is already limited and not great.) They will tow you, they don’t care if you’re a resident. I was towed recently, out 350 now when a simple courtesy call could have been issued to have me move. I also called about a suspected mouse, and was told someone would be there in an hour. Luckily, all was fine, but no thanks to management. No one came and no one called me to follow up. It looks nice, but I would give it maybe 2.5 stars.

The team at the leasing office change very frequently. Just before they get familiar with the processes, they get changed. I don’t know if it is too low wage or any other management issues but as obviously there is something not right.
For the past month, I have been going back and forth to the leasing office almost every other day to renew my lease, and they cannot get it done. The only complexity I’ve brought is to add a new name to the lease. They promise me a call back with updates, but the call never comes of course and I have go in person again and just hear apologies. The leasing office team is very frustrating and incapable team.
The parking garages have their own story that in almost a year there is no update on if they will get open to the residents or not. There is not enough parking spaces, so if you come home late, good luck finding a parking spot.
The maintenance team is good though, surprisingly!

I moved out of this place one FULL year ago, and still have not received my promised security deposit. I went into the office myself on June 14th and was promised they would re-send a check within the week -- nothing. I called twice in the last week of June, both times getting promises that Amy would call me back to confirm the check had been mailed. Nothing. I called three more times over the following week, with no other options aside from "leave a message and Amy will call you back." Nothing.
I sent an email on July 8th, which was not responded to, until after I reached out directly to their CEO on LinkedIn on July 12th. THEN I received an email from Amy confirming the address that they would send the check to. Had to send a nudge email following up before she confirmed on July 17th that the check would be sent that week. It is now August 2nd, 2 weeks later, 2 "please let me know ANYTHING because no checks have arrived" emails later, and still NOTHING. The lack of communication, clarity, and follow-through has been beyond frustrating. At this point I am considering seeking out legal counsel.
And this has just been the icing on the cake -- when I did live there, my car was stolen out of their underground garage, which was an additional $100 monthly fee on top of rent. Not only was the security completely useless, they refused to reimburse me for any of the months that I had paid extra to use the garage. And there were the cockroaches and unresponsive maintenance team. Don't move here, it isn't worth it.

Would give zero stars if I could. Absolute disaster of a building and management. If you move here expect to have your car towed. Except the management to do absolutely nothing and expect your water to be off at least 5 days every month. Give your money to ANY other company.
