Pathetic attitudes of staff - the employees act like they’re doing you a favor by ringing you up, like it takes talent or something. Bought a few dairy items that were super close to expiration which is on me but deceptive on their part to stock such things and sell them at the premium they do here. Quality products. I did see a $9 loaf of bread though

I was quite disappointed with market. Maybe it was great when opened but not anymore. First of all strong food cooked food. You are five minutes in there and you need to do a laundry. Maybe I expected it to be a store sourced from Eastern Europe but there are no such items at all.

Really disappointed with the direction I see them going. I've shopped here for a decade and gotten my Thanksgiving turkey from them for the last 5 years. This year was a wildly different experience and when I called to ask for help and give feedback, I was transferred to "meat and seafood" who seemed too busy to bother and just explained away all my issues with excuses. I went to pick up my turkey and was told that I hadn't stuck closed enough to my appointment window and would have to come back, turned away empty-handed. After making a second trip down there, I ended up paying $20 more than I was quoted when I reserved the turkey. In years past, I was able to pay in full online ahead of time, but this year was just given an estimate and charged a deposit. I reserved a smaller turkey because I have a smaller party to feed. I was given a bird over the range I selected and charged more than I paid last year. All of this was merely inconvenient, but I was happy with my purchase given past experience so I went home.
Then I discovered that the turkey was frozen solid. I couldn't get it open to brine. So I left it to defrost overnight in the fridge. 24 hours later, it's still full of ice but manageable. The man on the phone says that it was just on the bottom of the cooler and that's how they come. I paid for a fresh turkey angled got a frozen one. One that threw off my prep timing as well. His suggested solution was to "just leave it out on the counter for an hour." I really hope that's not how they handle their meat in store.
Then giblets came pouring out loose. There was a bag of organs and additional extra livers falling out of the cavity. Just not the quality I am paying for. Finally, the bird had 5 large black spots that I assumed were variation on feathers or skin, but it was still concerning so I decided to call. The man was very dismissive and obviously too busy to be bothered. He told me as long as it doesn't smell, it's fine. But no one heard my concerns or my experience. No one bothered to offer to help. Just "do you have any more questions bud?" I will not be getting a turkey here again.

When you truly want gourmet, Marczyk is the way to go. I come mostly for delicious and high-quality meats, sometimes pick up specialty items or treats. Definitely not a place I can do much regular shopping though. Everyone at both locations has always been super friendly and helpful! I’m a big fan ☺️

love this spot for years, quality absolutely can't be beat A++. but the deli is in serious trouble. went on a sunday, no line, had to cut my order short bc it took 15 mins to slice half lb of salami. not sure what the deal is there...maybe it's different on weekdays? but only go if you got LOTS of time to wait around. prices are fair IMO, reflect quality and inflation - you will pay the same for lesser goods elsewhere. it is what it is.

Overprice charcuterie boards. Though delicious, they were quite small for what i paid for. I also was not charged until days after i picked it up even though there was a pending charge in my account for days before. My account is now in the negative due to the charge not being posted which just doesn’t make sense that it took so long for me to get charged. Very frustrating and honestly i would not order one from here again.

I've been enjoying Marczyk's since they opened back in 2006, especially since Tony's (another specialty butcher/grocer) departed for the far suburbs. Marczyk is fairly unique amidst the sea of ordinary, boring grocery chains.This is a very pretty specialty grocery that offers a good-sized parking lot and a separate, but attached wine store. The grocery includes an interesting selection of dry goods, many of which are unusual or unique. There are excellent meat and seafood departments which specialize in premium products.There's a deli which offers sandwiches and has many prepared items plus a good selection of premium meats and cheeses. The produce selection is always great and there are bakery items, dairy, and a small frozen section including made in-house ice cream.Burger Night is a great reason to visit Marczyk on a summer night. The staff periodically sets up two huge grills out front and makes burgers from Niman Ranch meat, with or without cheese, and to your preferred temperature. Huge trays of lettuce, tomato, and onion are provided along with bottles of ketchup, mustard, mayo, and aioli. A great chance to sit at the tables out front and to make some new friends. Buy a ticket at the registers inside the store.I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. Pricing is high, but this is a specialty store with a focus on premium products.

Very nice gourmet grocery in uptown. A very curated selection on the pricier end, but the quality is top notch!
