Point blank: it is embarrassing how poorly this property is managed. Beyond the staff frequently being uncooperative and dismissive, the overall lack of professionalism and basic operational competence is astonishing. Prior to the current general manager, service was slightly better, but Griffis as a whole has consistently fallen short.
During my time at Platform, elevator issues have been constant. I’ve heard reports of elevators dropping multiple floors with residents inside, emergency services struggling to access stuck passengers, and a pattern where one elevator is repaired only for another to fail. All three elevators were out of service on 11/30 — an unacceptable situation for a building of this size and one that created serious accessibility concerns.
After nearly a year of apologies, residents finally have 2 of 3 elevators functioning. The announcement sharing this “good news” was surprisingly unprofessional. Management highlighted that corporate paid technicians “$20k” to fix the elevators, which came across as an attempt to guilt-trip residents for their legitimate complaints. For context, that amount is comparable to a single month’s rent for ten units — insignificant for a large company. The tone of the message was bizarre and sounded like it was written by an angsty teenager.
The renovation process has been similarly mismanaged. I’m fully convinced that a bright college student could’ve drawn up a better blueprint than what has been executed by these “professionals.” You’d expect a company that oversees multiple properties to understand basic logistics, but the planning here suggests otherwise. The sky lounge and conference rooms were demolished months ago with no visible progress, while lobby renovations have dragged on endlessly. The sequencing feels completely arbitrary, as if no thought went into minimizing disruption.
Overall, your money is better spent elsewhere. Rather than responding defensively to this review, I hope management focuses on addressing the issues that residents have been dealing with for far too long.

I’ve lived at The Platform for several years, and unfortunately the quality has noticeably declined since Griffis took over. We haven’t had all three elevators working in over a year, and several times we’ve been down to just one. Every update shifts the blame to the elevator company rather than acknowledging the long-term inconvenience to residents.
What made things even worse was the decision to relocate the package lockers from the lobby to B1 — a floor that’s only accessible by elevator. With the elevators already unreliable, this change has created even more congestion, longer wait times, and constant backups. Delivery drivers and residents now have to use the single functioning elevator just to retrieve packages, while people trying to go up wait even longer. There’s also no cell service on B1, so the package app won’t load, and the locker system is painfully slow due to lack of connection.
For over six months, the building has been consumed by renovations. There’s been no recourse or compensation for the noise, the mess, the constant disruption, or the loss of basic amenities like reliable elevator service. I genuinely like the staff and love the location, but the issues have piled up, and it’s difficult to recommend living here until these problems are taken seriously and actually addressed -

We are now down to 1 elevator for 20+ floors and the whole building is under construction. Don't move here.
Update (11/30/2025) ALL ELEVATORS ARE DOWN.

Look elsewhere!! I've lived here for 3 years, and absolutely loved it until Griffis took over. Ever since then, this living experience has gone completely downhill.
First off, the elevator situation is unacceptable. There are hundreds of residents in this building and there are supposed to be 3 elevators; however, I cannot remember the last time all 3 elevators worked. Lately, we've been lucky to have 2 elevators functioning. Wait times have exceeded 10 min just to get out of the building. If you're hiring movers, expect to pay double.
For months now, the building has been under construction on the main floor and in amenities included in our monthly fees; it's a hazard and it's extremely unpleasant. Packages and mail are often inaccessible or difficult to get to. It doesn't seem to have an end in sight.
We've had our water shut off due to various leaks all over the building several times now. I understand things happen, but it seems it's always something major when living here lately.
Management does not care about you or your experience with Griffis. They clearly do not prioritize safety or comfort and will do nothing to make up for the terrible experience. With the amount of money we pay to live here, I would expect something to change. Joseph is the only staff member who makes it an enjoyable place!
I used to think I'd never want to leave this apartment, but I broke my lease and am moving out this weekend and truly cannot wait to be out of here. Do yourself a favor and trust the recent reviews. Don't get stuck in this building (literally) - there are plenty of luxury homes with great views in this area.

*This review is subject to change, as I’ve only lived here for just over three months. My hope is the poor review will lead to changes which improve the experience, and can eventually improve the review.
As other recent reviews note, we’ve endured A LOT of broken or closed down systems and amenities. Maybe I’ve just had bad luck and this will not be emblematic of the next several months/years. But, in my short time here, we’ve had our mail/package system down currently for a couple weeks with no date given for it to be running again; elevators does for extended periods; the gym was closed; the spa hasn’t been working; the front windows along Wewatta papered over, making it look like an abandoned building from the outside; a copy/work center closed completely; and worst of all IMO, is what they’ve done with the resident lounge. The lounge has been prominently featured on the website, as a large and attractive gathering space. The very day I moved in- having been given ZERO notice as I worked through the touring and application process- I found out this lounge was closing very soon with “hopes to reopen in the new year”. Mind you, the date I moved in was JUNE 19. They closed it down, taking out furniture, carpet etc in early July. It has sat abandoned- meaning zero work being done- in the more than two months since. (Residents can look into the abandoned space from the small gym directly above it). No mention of when this will end, discounts on rent, nothing. It’s almost as if they closed the space down out of spite, given no work is currently being done on it.
This was hoped to be a dream place for me to live. I can only hope I’ve been exceptionally unlucky in the first three months of living here. But, I can’t say I’m optimistic. At the time I wrote this, I received a text message saying they’d turn the water completely off for the second straight day, this time from 9pm to 6am.
Update on November 19, 2025:
More than four months after the closure of the prominently featured resident lounge (it’s the big room with the floor to ceiling windows of city views, had a blue couch etc) all over the website, it still appears as if absolutely zero work has been done in that time. The most recent “update” (they provide precious little actual information) involves a subtle pivot on the projected completion date. What was described in June as a project being done around “the new year” has now been described as “first quarter of 2026”. Of course, this extends the date to the end of March. But, of course, they also don’t guarantee that being the end date. This means it is conceivable that a place I rented specifically because of the resident lounge may well go nearly the ENTIRE YEARS LEASE without the lounge being open. They’ve not offered me (or anyone else to my knowledge) a single penny in compensation.

I’ve lived in this building for four years. It used to be a great place to live, but since Griffis Residential took over, it has become chaotic and poorly managed.
There are nearly 300 apartments and three elevators, but one has been broken for as long as I can remember. So in reality, almost 300 residents rely on two elevators, and since Griffis took over, one of those is out of service almost every month. Sometimes both are down. The fire department has had to rescue residents trapped inside, and one elevator even dropped several floors while empty. If you are uneasy about elevators, or have ADA needs, this is not the place for you.
We have also had frequent water shutoffs, sometimes lasting more than 12 hours and even overnight. That is not luxury living.
The gym was closed all summer for renovations and has just reopened, while the pool, rooftop, and lounges have been closed since late summer and will remain closed until sometime in Q1 2026. Residents continue to pay full rent while living through noise, dust, and construction.
The package system is another disaster. Management moved deliveries from the lobby to the basement, causing weeks of lost or spoiled packages. The new lockers get hot, and every time I open one, a wave of warm air comes out. If you receive temperature sensitive items, expect problems.
After four years of paying rent on time through all of this, our renewal offer included a rent increase. When we questioned it, pointing out that the identical unit above ours is being advertised to new tenants for $3,100, management could not explain the discrepancy. The best offer we received was to freeze our rent at $3,700 and give us a one-time six-week free concession—which still makes our apartment more expensive than the unit above us on an annual basis.
We reached out to the on-site manager, Hannah Kirschbaum, to discuss this in good faith, hoping for a professional and logical conversation. Instead, she repeatedly dismissed our questions and could not explain why the renewal offer made sense. Her own comments confirmed that the market is soft, that vacancy rates are high, and that concessions are necessary to attract new tenants—exactly our point. Despite this, she made it clear that resident retention was not a priority. After two weeks of back-and-forth, she ended the conversation by implying that our confusion was the issue rather than her lack of logic or professionalism.
Do not be fooled by the high Google rating. Most of those reviews are from before Griffis took over. The new management has turned what used to be a great community into a stressful, unreliable, and disrespectful place to live.
If you want to stay in this neighborhood, look elsewhere. Our friends who used to live here moved across the street to The Coloradan and could not be happier. It is a true luxury experience there!
The only bright spot left is the maintenance team. They are incredible, professional, and kind. They are the reason this building still functions at all. We will miss their bright faces.
If you value safety, professionalism, and respect, avoid this property and any other managed by Griffis Residential. This place is proof that bad management can ruin a good building.

After six disappointing months, I decided to move out of here. Of course, I will be leaving by paying thousands of dollars in penalties. Honestly, even if they paid me thousands of dollars, I still wouldn’t stay here.
Everything is always broken. BBQ grills that never work, elevators that constantly break down, a gym that stayed under renovation for months… The gym was closed for two months just to replace equipment, and the only alternative offered was a Planet Fitness. It’s located downtown, along a route I would never choose to walk at night. If you are taking away amenities from your tenants for months at a time, you should offer them rent reductions. At a property I stayed at in New York, management gave all tenants a 10% rent reduction simply because the parking garage was under maintenance. And that garage was only closed for three weeks — plus they even arranged an alternative garage. That’s what management vision looks like, and you are responsible for providing the amenities you promised your tenants.
The reason I chose to pay such high rent here was to benefit from the amenities. But in six months, I could not properly enjoy a single one of them. There are many nearby properties with far lower rents and far better amenities. If I wanted to go to a public park to grill or to an outside gym to exercise, I could have rented a standard apartment for less than half the price I paid here — and I probably would have been happier.
Unfortunately, this place turned out to be a major disappointment and a financial loss for me.

I don’t even know where to begin when evaluating this place. We moved here in March, and what followed was nothing short of a nightmare. Note: Every staff member working in this building is wonderful. This feedback is not about them.
First, right after we moved in, the gym in the building went under renovation. An unbelievable two and a half months of waiting. And in the end, only the equipment was replaced. The gym was already very limited, and it remained limited even after the so-called renovation. During this time, management arranged access to a Planet Fitness downtown and directed us there. One of my main reasons for moving here was to avoid having to go to a gym like Planet Fitness. I have a heart condition and need to exercise regularly. I do not want to walk 25 minutes to Planet Fitness. Because of my work, I can only work out very early in the morning or late at night, but Planet Fitness is closed during those hours. As a result, I had to neglect not only my fitness but, more importantly, my health.
Second, I don’t even want to mention the never-ending construction in the building. Something is always broken or needs fixing. The noise from early mornings to late at night is like a constant lullaby you never asked for.
Third, the so-called BBQ grills the building advertises are almost always broken. Most of the time, they don’t work. Either the buttons are broken or the ignition system doesn’t function.
Fourth, the elevators are already painfully slow, and the entry systems are unnecessarily complicated. When even one elevator breaks down, you end up waiting for long minutes, crammed with dozens of people sweating in a single elevator. Since the stairwell doors are always locked, you don’t even have the option of taking the stairs. And they don’t even run the service elevator to help when others are out of order.
Fifth, the parking garage is constantly filled with a strong sewage smell 24/7. Every time I need to get into my car, I have to make an extra effort to air it out first.
I could list even more negative things if I wanted to, but I don’t even want to get into the smaller, annoying details.
When I brought all this up to management, they didn’t even offer a rent reduction. Instead, all you get is a “yes, we’re sorry.” Why would anyone pay thousands of dollars here? Just to not be able to use any of the amenities? I am breaking my lease and will have to pay thousands of dollars in penalties. I strongly advise you to stay away from this apartment, especially when there are so many other places nearby with far better amenities and much more reasonable rent.
Note: Management will most likely respond to this review with something along the lines of “We are open to discussing these issues, please email us.” Do not be misled — this does not mean they actually care about you or want to resolve your problems. I have tried speaking with them many times, and all they really want from you is money. That’s why, if I get a response, I will not take it seriously.

We have only been here a couple of months. The building is nice, quiet and the staff is responsive. The true standout is the maintenance team. They are great. Joseph is the best, always responsive and helpful getting your issues solved quickly, often the same day. Daniel is great too.

Lived here for a few years including transition from of building from Holland to Griffis and it’s been a good experience so far. The new Griffis team including building manager Tamara has been making steady improvements to the building and community. Events recently have been fantastic. Overall a fun place to live!
