I was erroneously prescribed Narcan after a surgery where the doctor prescribed me seven 5 mg pills of OxyContin for post op pain. I called St Joeseph’s pharmacist to tell her that the Narcan was prescribed erroneously and to remove it from my prescription record because it could flag me as an opioid drug user if I applied for life insurance or health insurance in the future. She put me on hold and then came back and told me she could cancel it, but not remove it. I told her that something needed to be done about it instead of just dismissing it, and there could be a law suit if I was denied insurance over the prescription which I had no control over and she hung up on me.That St Joesephs would hire a hospital pharmacist that unprofessional and childish was shocking— something you might see at a Walmart. Someone in her position should reflect trust toward their clients. I know there’s a labor shortage, but that “pharmacist” has the maturity and communication skills more in line with serving cheeseburgers at McDonalds than working with patients in a hospital. St. Joseph’s should be more respecting of their clients and more protective of their brand when they hire their pharmacists.
