Today I lost my black lab Duke and I can't say anything negative about VCA they helped Duke cross the rainbow bridge and so compassionately. The staff is superb. They made me feel like they were taking care of their own pets. Love VCA. Thanks

If I had a great experience, and I'm coming back again, letting you guys know, that my dog has been struggling to breathe, got her xray at a nearby vet since they didn't have the tool necessary and I'm coming in as an emergency and you're telling me that you wont be able to see me till Monday and today is Saturday, am I supposed to wait till my dog is half dead? I'm disappointed in you guys.

Taking your dog to the vet is never cheap, so I won't talk about the money. I went to this hospital with my dog having issues and they found out she had a brain tumor. They had tu put her under anesthesia and thought it would be the best for her to stay the night there, I paid for everything and they called me during the afternoon saying that I could pick her up since she was doing really good and returned me the money for the night she did not stay there. They talked to me about the options that we had, and what was the best for her. At first, my dog showed some progress but then everything went bad... after one month treatment I had to take the hard decision of letting her go. There are no words to explain such a pain, this was months ago. All the staff was extremely kind, gentle, patient and compassionate. The human quality in this staff team is definitely something to highlight. Thank you for doing the best for Adda. I will always have a warm memory about you all eventhoug I lived one of the most painful experiences in my life.

I brought my dog to this specific clinic and they run a lot of tests to see what was wrong with my dog they were never able to give me an answer to see what was wrong with him, and also they charged me close to 2,000 dollars and they wanted to do more tests to the point where my bill was gonna go up to 6,000 dollars and they still weren’t able to give me an answer of what was wrong with my dog so I went ahead and took him somewhere else which is called “Animal care center of Aurora”, within the first couple of hours they called me and told me that my dog had a sock ? inside of his intestines and they told me he needed surgery and I agreed and he was out of surgery within an hour they only charged me 1,500 and the diagnostic was correct compare too “VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital” they charged me 2,000 dollars and they weren’t able to tell me what was wrong with my dog, please be careful where you take your best friends this alameda clinic plays with your feelings, financials, don’t let them force you into something you don’t wanna do try somewhere else I recommend taking your pets to “Animal Care Center of Aurora” or checkout the reviews for other clinics and make your best decision, “there is still honest and reasonable doctors out there” thank you for your attention.

On March 1st, I had an appointment with them with my cat. My cat had pain in the back of his body, he did not allow himself to be touched, he cried and was aggressive. Unfortunately, our doctor did not have free time and we went to emergency. Although I wouldn’t call it an emergency, since we had to sit and wait for a doctor for 3-4 hours. When the doctor was free, we were told that we needed to administer a sedative to diagnose pain. I left the cat with them and went home. Afterwards, the doctor wrote to me that he had pain in his left thigh, possibly a muscle strain. I agreed with her, since she is a doctor and she knows better. But the next day my cat didn’t eat, didn’t drink, and just cried. and I took him to another hospital. There they looked and found a wound on his back. He has no pain in his left hip!!! He had an open wound on his back, as if someone had bitten him. I WAS SURPRISED. HOW DID THE DOCTOR WHO EXAMINED MY CAT UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF A DRUG NOT SEE THE WOUND??? Why did I pay for the sedative??? The inspection costs $187, what did I pay this money for??? the fact that she looked at him with her eyes??? It was a terrible experience and I had to pay $438 there. $187 for examination, $150 for sedation and $100 for pain medication. They didn't help my cat at all. They made the wrong diagnosis and were unable to diagnose the location of the pain. The wound on his back could be seen with the naked eye. I couldn't do this at home because he was restless. But the doctor had such an opportunity. I had to go to another hospital and pay again for examination and treatment of the wound. It was a sad experience. We had Dr. Yeager, if you have the opportunity, go to another hospital. Thank you for your attention.

(This review is from 2019) About a month ago, my 4 year old dog Obie became paralyzed out of no where and couldn't use his back legs/control his bladder. We rushed him to VCA, in tears, and after MRI's and spinal taps Dr. Emch decided he didn't need surgery but that he might have myelitis or lymphoma and we began treating him with Chemo right away. It's a month later and my dog can walk again! I have no idea where he would be without their help and expertise. This hospital has the best of the best here. Best doctors and Best medicine.Yes, it was expensive... He was in the hospital for 4 days and each day cost us over $1,000 per day. Our end bill was close to $6,000. I realize not everyone can afford to save their pets and I was lucky to have money saved up...We have now worked with Dr. Kopf and Elainna, for 4 years now and everything they have done to work with us on making sure we can financially afford to keep Obie on his chemo really means a lot to us. I truly believe they care about my dog and helping him recover. Thank you Dr. Kopf!

We recently had an urgent situation with our dog, Wilbur, who suddenly began having difficulty walking. His condition deteriorated rapidly, prompting us to seek immediate veterinary care. We chose Alameda East Animal Hospital, and it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warmth and compassion, making a stressful situation feel more manageable. Their friendliness and professionalism were evident throughout our entire experience.Dr. Kelli Kopf, Wilbur's surgeon, was nothing short of amazing. Her expertise in diagnosing and treating Wilbur's IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) was impressive. She was incredibly thorough in explaining the diagnosis, the surgical procedure needed to address Wilbur's ruptured disc, and what the recovery process would entail.Communication from the hospital was exceptional. We were kept informed at every step of the way, from pre-surgery through Wilbur's recovery. This level of communication provided great comfort during a very anxious time. The facility's cleanliness also stood out. It's clear that Alameda East takes great pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for both pets and their owners.Wilbur has been home for about a week now. While recovery has not been easy, he is making progress and even walking a bit. I am confident that, thanks to Dr. Kopf and the entire staff at Alameda East, Wilbur will fully recover.I cannot recommend Alameda East Animal Hospital highly enough. Their combination of medical expertise, compassionate care, excellent communication, and a clean facility made all the difference for Wilbur and our family.

I just wanted to give a shout out to Dr. Yeager and the front room staff, and the vet techs/nurses at Alameda East ER. They were so polite, kind, and courteous. Most importantly they cared for my furbaby with compassion. They kept me updated while she was in the back having tests done and went over pricing giving me options/suggestions to my furbabies care. They gave me peace of mind during a scary time and I will be forever grateful. Thank you!!

The neurologic team at VCA Alameda Est is amazing. They are so knowledgeable and anytime I see a dog from there (I'm a canine PT), I know they had great care!

Took care of our dog after eating a bag full of raisins. Took excellent care and I really appreciated them giving us updates multiple times a day as she was hospitalized.

Don't be fooled. These are cold heartless people who genuinely only care about money. No matter what, they will tell you nothing on the phone. They will absolutely not let you speak with a vet. Their response to everything is "you have to bring them in" so they get their visitation fee. They are also an affirmative action hire facility. Steer clear of these snakes.

Be extremely careful if taking a lost pet for cremation here! Last time I went we paid roughly $200 for what we needed. We were told the price upfront, and paid when we pick it all up. Now, they won't discuss prices there, they just take your pet and direct you to a website. This time it was $400 and it must be paid within 3 days. At this point they already have my pet so it's not like I can shop around and get it back. I definitely felt like we were held to extremely high prices in our hour of grief.

It took me a while before proceeding to this review. I didn't appreciate the absolute AWFUL treatment I experienced at VCA Alameda East Vet Facility. From the time I arrived with my baby to the time I left, the staff behavior was utterly unbelievable and ridiculous!! The setting was a horrible environment, super unprofessional, uncaring, inhumane, and met with desensitized ill-mannered staff. The presence of the police officer walking around didn't help as the employees were off to a bad start to begin with. This hospital runs a vet/pet mill by manipulaing heart strings to pay obscene amounts of money while padding service charges with no concern for the owner/parent or pet at all - whatsoever. They were more interested in the money prior to diagnosing conditions and explaining how the doctors are Board Certified to treat. Well I certainly hope so, since people are taking their pets to this hospital for care.I was met with adversity - VCA EAST didn't care about me or my little one. They are too busy lining their pockets for profit! GREEDI am speaking for my baby as she cannot speak for herself. Through my emotions, pain, shaking and dropping crocodile tears in my baby's face while holding her - not once did 'any' staff ask if I needed help, tissue, or anything else for that matter. They were more interested in shoving papers at me, dancing, spinning around in the lobby while laughing. One employee was euphoric in behavior, as if she was under the influence and constantly smiling. She also mishandled my pup knowing she was sick!!! I was so...so angry but had to maintain my composure, the hardest pill to swallow in my entire life. I practically had to beg them to do something for her!!! I AM STILL SO VERY ANGRY!!!!Once I finally met with a VET, she was drawing pictures on a white board asking me what I thought was wrong???!!!! I will take additional concerns, names , and date to a regulatory agency. This facility and staff SUCK and better treatment can be found elsewhere. If you want your furry family member(s) to be mistreated, VCA won't disappoint. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND VCA TO ANYONE . Trust me, if there were negative star reviews, VCA East earned every single last one of one of them. VCA SHAME on you. Don't respond to this review with: 'we a disheartened etc'. You didn't care during our visit!Operate better in servicing vulnerable people and their vulnerable furry babies coming to your hospital for true and honest care. Your customers are coming to there for pet medical services, not for sales. Several reviews resemble my sentiment.

The staff and Dr Veale did a great job at comfortably and quickly ending my mom’s dogs suffering. He was in clear terminal respiratory failure and suffering. They identified that and quickly and humanly ended his suffering. It’s regrettable that he reached that point but I’m grateful for the staff, Dr Veale and VCA to be available for all emergencies including end of life events. You all do a great service and take it from a human emergency worker, you’re greatly appreciated. Bravo Zulu
