Our car broke down on the way back to Durango airport in Colorado. We had to arrange alternate transportation and the car was towed. Upon getting to the Durango airport, the representative agreed to a 50% discount off the price. But I was charged the full amount. I have tried getting hold of Alamo for nearly a month and keep getting told they'll get back to me. Warning to all - Never use this dreadful company.

Upon receiving our post-return invoice we noticed several errors that the team were unable to correct. Rental Agreement # 954520237 Invoice # 90153265683.Concern 1: The vehicle was returned with 1/4 of a tank of fuel remaining, and the staff recorded "2.0" overvaluing the amount of fuel used during our trip.Concern 2: In addition to this, when we were first picking up the vehicle we chose the pre-rental refueling rate of $4+/gal, we were charged a higher refueling rate of $6+/gal, as if we chose refueling after returning the vehicle.Concern 3: Furthermore, based on the language printed and used during our pick-up, we understood that in choosing the refueling option we would be paying to return the fuel tank to full from the amount we returned the vehicle with, 3/4 of a tank in our case.In attempting to correct these errors with the staff at the return counter (Renewal W. Vigil and Ashton Phillips), we were interrupted by a manager (Rebecca) who only walked into the office a moment earlier, missing the first 15 minutes of our group’s interaction. The manager rudely explained that when choosing the refueling option, where Alamo refuels the tank for us, we are agreeing to purchase a whole tank of fuel regardless of how much fuel is remaining in the tank at return. This only addresses Concern 3, listed above. She did not take the time to review our paperwork or understand our concerns but did suggest a $20 refund to close out our request. This refund was never honored. This surprised us as we were charged a higher rate than agreed and paid for more fuel than we used. Increasing the impact of the surprise and lack of sufficient remedy, was the manager's impatient and patronizing interaction. We understand mistakes happen, we can tolerate miscommunications, and our issues with this invoice and interaction are beyond those allowances and expectations. As this location (Durango, Colorado airport) has other car rental options, we will be avoiding Alamo in an attempt to have a more clear and professional business transaction in the future.

This company have thieves working for them. I highly do not recommend any one to use this company. I forgot a phone and tablet in glovebox. I called as soon as I realized and spoke to a Gustavo who said nothing was turned in by the gentleman who received the car at drop off. This gentlemen name was said to be Jose aka Pepe. Within hours I get an email from theta computacion (later changed name on email to Jazmin Herrera) a person in Durango City that they found my cell phone on the floor. Lies, lies I will not be returning and will tell everyone going to Durango not to rent from ALAMO never again!Update: Sent email with my contact information to John as requested

Everything has changed. Waited 45 mins as this poor women ran back and forth between parking lot and service desk, I guess only person working for three differentrental agencies. Once paperwork complete, I was told I would have to wait and hour for vehicle. There was a plus, paid in full beforehand, but was assured they did have a car for me, wait, what? As I said, Everything has changed, please pay upfront and we might have what you paid for. Scratch Alamo off the list.

Alamo is awful. They offer cars that don’t exist and then tell you to get screwed when you arrive at the airport. Do not book with them!!

They had to rent from alamo since it was a small mountain town and there was lack of inventory. After paying for the car despite my plane being late, I had to wait for the car to be returned and cleaned, time which I had paid to wait. Two days after renting it snowed. There was no snowscraper in the car and the right windshield looper was broken. I contacted customer service who told me to drive to a local partner agent. this location wss closed. Upon returning the car, the same agent was on duty. I told her of the broken wiper which she quickly dismissed and immediately pointed out an area under the right bumper that appeared damaged. there was no evidence of any dirt or smudging of the area to suggest a recent issue. The car had 60000 miles on it and did not appear in good repair. She was unable to determine if this was new. I don't believe you can back up with a camera and alarm without knowledge of hitting something. Very frustrating experience. Will definitely avoid Alamo in the future .

Despite booking a SUV 3 months in advance and taking my payment information they had nothing available upon arrival. Left my family of 7 with zero options on our family vacation. Not only that, they could not care any less! Extremely unprofessional. Horrible experience. Will never use them again.

Wish I'd read the comments prior to renting a vehicle from Alamo in Durango. They don't guarantee pick up times, your rental time is based on how responsible or irresponsible the previous renter is. If they return the vehicle late, guess what? You aren't getting your vehicle until they return it. They will apologize but we all know how far that goes. Awful business practice, this place makes Fox Rentals in Los Angeles look good (if you've ever rented a vehicle from Fox in LA, you know the irony of this statement). Here's some helpful advise, you see that you've got a customer landing at noon but your return hasn't shown up, talk with the representative at AVIS and walk your customer to the counter next door at the same rate, or offer an upgrade or downgrade. Anything to get them out of the airport. Avis had a parking lot full of vehicles that were ready to go while we were waiting and waiting, and waiting. Never gonna happen again, I'm reading reviews first.

Do not rent alamo at the durango airport customer service is very poor and they dont inspect there cars for damage so if you rent one without there ins. you will get a very unpleasant surprise when you return it. Been renting cars around the world for 30 yrs and the durango Alamo rental was by far the worst ever experience. BEWARE!!!!

We had a great experience with Alamo car rental. We forgot our car seat and they were very helpful in getting us one for our vehicle. They gave us a free upgrade to a minivan. Everyone was friendly and helpful!
