Been shopping here for two years and mostly at night when there are only a few staff. They've always been personable and helpful. Brenda in particular is stellar.

My favorite grocery store in Durango. Has better produce and meat than Walmart and is slightly less expensive than Albertsons

I went into this store to buy some groceries today and as I was checking out I overhead a young person working in the checkout area complaining outloud about his job. I smiled to myself because it reminded me of a day when I was in the Army and on KP duty and I done exactly the same thing. Except in my case, the grizzled old Mess Seargant approached me and told me in no uncertain words that I had choosen to be there and I needed to suck it up and do my job. The best advice I was ever given! Hey young person, if you're that unhappy with your job go to the local Workforce Center and get some career counseling or find another job that's more to you liking. It does you no good to work at a job you don't like. You have your whole life in front of you to figure it out. It's all up to you my friend.

Despite the absolute lack of parking, this location continues it's mantra of bait and switch. In fact, I've never been to this location where at least two items did not ring up correctly. Today, we bought two items that both rang up correctly.. Peaches, advertised as 99 cents a pound, range up at twice that. Raspberries marked 2.47 rang up 5 bucks. They're literally screwing everybody.

Great store with great prices for the local Durango area. Would be nice if it felt a little more clean inside everything is just a bit dusty or dirty. Staff are helpful and courteous.

Extremely rude people cashiers. Paid .75 cents for cash back and they wouldn't actually give me my cash back. Reporting this to my bank.

I've lived in the area for over 30 years and have enjoyed the North City Market store. However, today (8/30/23), things were so 'off' I had to comment. To be fair, the produce staff and the cashier were kind and helpful. However, unexpectedly, things went 'south' when I needed to get some roses for a dear friend who has suffered a recent loss. There was a stand of 'sale' roses by the pharmacy and I selected a nice bunch. The local store employee told me if I needed 'flower food' to pick some up in the floral department. I was looking over additional flowers and got the feeling the floral staff were observing me with more scrutiny than normal (I'm a senior citizen). I disregarded the bad 'vibes' I was getting and I asked the staffer if I could please have additional 'flower food'. She commented that all flowers come with a packet, but gave me 2 packets. I wanted a little extra to help my friend extend her flower life. I noticed a stand of roses nearly $2 cheaper near the floral department and chose to buy those instead. Imagine the shock and embarrassment I experienced when a different floral staff member (looking to be a management-type) actually 'hunted me down' at the check-out line and demanded I return the 2 extra floral packets. The other customers in line joined me in staring at her in disbelief. With a nasty glare, she actually reached into my basket and 'retrieved' the precious packets from the rose bouquet for my grieving friend. It seems petty; however, I think management would do well to provide employee staff development to improve customer courtesy. What in the world is going on? In other City Market stores, the floral department staff have been considerate, kind, and accommodating. What's going on at this location? No more shopping there!

We were pleasantly surprised with this market. The prices were reasonable, the place was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

City Market, a national multi-billion dollar corporation drastically reduced the amount of food and drinks they sell so they could put up an aisle of wine. In a bid to put the locally owned small business liquor and wine store, that they've had a public feud with and that resides in the same parking lot, out of business. Last time I'll be patronizing this store.

I went shopping with my wife, and we used the self checkout. As we were scanning our stuff, the bagging scale became full, and so my wife suggested that I put those items in the cart, which I began doing to make space for the rest of our scanned items. Of course that set off a block on the process that required a supervisor to come and unlock the software because now the scale was confused about the loss of weight. Unlike Walmart, these scales demand that you leave everything in place until the very end. So the supervisor comes over and says 'You started out by helping but in the end you messed it all up". Thanks for the unnecessary rebuke. On another occasion we had an online order that got messed up due to Kroger's quirky software, and went to talk to the store manager about it. He was very nice until he found out that Kroger had deleted our order and that it was not his responsibility, at which point he completely lost interest in our problem. Thanks for the genuine concern.Otherwise, management aside, it's a reasonable store. However we took our online orders to Walmart as they do a better job.

Maybe it was just me, but the layout of the store was really weird. Alcohol was in the same aisle as lunch meat for one.

The level of in store service is not good. There are six checkout stands and I never see more than three open. And almost never any baggers. I don’t want to hear about a labor shortage, because if you pay right, they will come! And prices are like they already are. However, the delivery service is good.
