The Durango Arts Center is a multi-faceted hub for community arts that hosts and promotes contemporary visual and performing arts, youth & adult arts education, dynamic exhibits, and the annual Durango Autumn Arts Festival. Over the years, DAC has built its reputation as a local arts industry leader and has been working diligently to ensure that the arts continue to thrive in the Four Corners region and beyond. The center offers a wide range of engaging classes and workshops, such as an ink drawing class led by a gifted and charismatic teacher who radiates a deep passion for art. The DAC also presents opportunities for artists of all ages to showcase their talents, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. The performance space is described as small, intimate, and black box-style, providing a cozy setting for events like the "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare abridged," which was praised for its brilliant and hilarious interpretation of the Bard's works. Despite some concerns about COVID-19 restrictions, the Durango Arts Center is widely regarded as a vibrant and vital hub for the town's creative community, offering a diverse array of arts and cultural experiences for residents and visitors alike.
We love this place! Small, intimate, black box setting with snacks and bar. They never disappoint. We can count on a lot of laughs from their comedy shows
