An auto parts store told me I needed a new alternator after their quick test. I went to Firestone to get one installed. The guys recommended they retest before just installing a new alternator. It would cost but not a tenth of the cost of a new alternator. They called when finished to say there was nothing wrong with the alternator, saving me a ton of money. That’s great service and honest auto repair work!

On passing through Durango I had a flat tire and the Firestone store waited on me as a walk in in spite of being very busy.The person who waited on me was very professional in explaining to me that the tire was unrepairable so he replaced it with a new Bridgestone tire.It was replaced and mounted on my vehicle in a short time without spending a good amount of time in town.

Have been in Durango for several days enjoying the town. Stayed at the Grand Junction campsite. Friday morning we were coming down the hill in our Ford F350 Diesel truck, and I noticed that my brakes were almost gone. They were very mushy and had a lot of play in them. I knew immediately what the problem was and pulled over. I observed a large amount of brake fluid pouring out from the left rear of the truck. Driving safely and in low gears, made it down to the bottom of the hill and into town at 7:30 in the morning. Searched online for any repair shops who could assist us. Not one of them had a mechanic available or they were simply closed on a Friday (go figure). Anyway, I did not realize that Firestone did brake work, but we took a chance and gave them a call. They made room for us on their schedule and had us come right in. They were unable to find the part needed anywhere in town, but were able to re-manufacture the parts needed with the parts that they already had in the shop. I don't think any other Shop would've done this for us. We have nothing but positive high praise for the staff at Firestone. Dave Abbott, and his staff were very professional, courteous and helpful. Thank you, Firestone in Durango. We appreciate you very much.

There are very few auto shops left that are old school and honest like this one. I've been to other Firestones across the country and they feel corporate. This one isn't like that. The guy running this one is not out to take your money, he just wants to do the right thing and have the customer leave happy. Thank you for all the work you did to keep my 240k+ Honda Element running strong!

I called the Durango Firestone to get a quote to drop the fuel tank, clean the debris inside as it was continually plugging the fuel filter. It sounded like a fair price so I scheduled an appointment. The mechanic had to pull the fuel pump from the tank to access the inside to clean it.The fuel pump was operational, sending 60psi to the fuel rail. When he was done replacing the tank, my van would not start! He said I will need to check the pressure. We found zero pressure! Fuel pumps just do not fail like that. I changed the fuel pump myself, not trusting Firestone to work on the van anymore! While waiting I heard Mike the manager talking to a lady, telling her existing tires were uneven, and if she didn't put on a new set, it could ruin her all wheel drive. Scare tactics. I'll never return.

I brought my car in last fall because the air conditioner had stopped working. They informed me that the compressor had a hole in it and that the system needed to be recharged and quoted me ~$1000 for repairs. I was told that they saw a hole in the compressor. I declined to repair it at that time. A month ago I took it to another mechanic. He was unable to locate a hole in the compressor. He recharged the a/c and it has been working since.
I do not know what happened that they notified me there was a hole in the compressor but I am grateful that I decided against the repair.
I gave two stars instead of one because they were responsive in getting my car into the shop on short notice and they were polite.

don’t ever come to this place unless you want an absolutely terrible experience had a scheduled appointment for 11:00 am a week ahead of time went in and the owner specifically said they don’t have time for the appointment I SCHEDULED A WEEK AHEAD OF TIME drove 60 miles just to get told their to busy would give 0 stars but it’s not option for a terrible establishment like this one.

I had a headlight out on my 2006 Prius, which my husband looked at changing. In the end, I said let's just have someone else do it, it looks too complicated. I called Firestone and spoke to Mike, who was super friendly and helpful. They had a cancellation this afternoon so I was able to get my car in the same day. They replaced the bulb quickly, and I'm a very satisfied customer! Thank you Firestone of Durango!

Posting under wife's account. I got new tires and a 4 wheel alignment. The entire process was easy, efficient, and hassle free. It was a great experience and I plan on returning as a future customer.

My SUV was overheating on my way to work the other morning. I made a few calls around town to different auto repair shops. This one stood out because they were willing to look at my vehicle the next day! I dropped my car off Tuesday after work, they were able to look at it at 8am Wednesday morning and replace the water pump right then. I picked up my repaired vehicle Wednesday after work. Amazing service, reasonable price, good central location, friendly employees, and quality repairs. What more can you ask for.
