A great place to find some unique knives. The customer service and knowledge was very helpful and led to a sale.My husband has been looking for an OTF knife for awhile and we found just the one here. And the price was on point.Next Durango visit will include a visit back here.

They have many very cute items. Came in for winter boots and was able to find a very comfortable reasonably priced pair of boots. They have so many great gift items and a really nice store layout. Dangerous to try to only leave with the boots I went in for. Definitely will be back.

Absolutely terrible. I've been coming to Durango for 30 years. My Family has a large property down here. I'm a 5th Generation Colorado native. My Brother in Law and I pulled into town and stopped here to pick up some ammo. We walked up to the door at 530PM. The door was locked and the sign said closed. The online hours as well as the sign on the door said they we're open until 6PM. There were multiple people in the store still so we figured they would let us shop. We knocked on the door and the employees waved us away. After that a woman and a large man with a beard came to the door to let us know we weren't welcome to shop. We said ok and that we would leave a bad review. The man called me a "****** and threatened to "end me," if I left a bad review. He told me to "Go F myself,"and that the store was closing early for the holiday. Needless to Say we told our Family that lives in Durango about this and I can say for certain this store just lost a couple hundred customers. I'm not sure who trains these employees but threatening repeat customers trying to spend money during business hours is usually the best way to go out of business.

Great little store. Nice gun selection, and a small assortment of everything you would need to get out camping. Huge selection of Benchmade Knives

I always expect to go into stores like this and get subpar treatment (as a female non-hunter), but this place really goes above and beyond to make people feel welcome, and answer all your questions, no matter how entry level they may be! Special shout-out to John whose advice helped me out a lot.

Bottom Line: Locally owned store selling quality gear for the outdoors. Shortly after landing in Durango my husband realized he forgot his sunglasses so we headed to Gardenswartz Outdoors to see what we could find. The store doesn't have any glamorous displays but it was well organized with great brands like Toad & Co, Darn Tough, Prana, Camelback, etc. I enjoyed looking around while my husband picked out a new pair of Smith sunglasses. The store has gear for men, women and kids. The store is located in historic Durango so that means parking is mostly limited to street parking. We were in town on a busy Saturday so we ended up parking quite far away but it was worth it.

Dude at the counter at the south location on 8/16/22 when I asked if he knows if there are any other sizes of bear spray..."mmm I don't know", continues his conversation with co worker. Gets paid to sit there and not help people. Good products and cool store, bad customer service, especially on my birthday lol.

Really enjoyed this store over the years and spent quite a bit of money there buying clothing and Yeti coolers, but had a really bad experience there recently and will spend my money elsewhere. My wife bought me what looked like a really nice throwing axe from there for my birthday. I threw it twice at my stump target, stuck them perfectly and on the third throw the handle hit the target and split in half. I could understand after 100 or so throws something happens but 3rd throw and it splits in half??!! My wife tried to exchange it as it was obviously defective and was told “we’re not responsible how your husband throws an axe, just replace the handle.” Unbelievable, I’m local, no wonder people turn to Amazon. -Basil.
