I had a storage unit with them for three years! In that three years I never experienced a break in. The owner was always transparent about billing and improvements to the storage yard. They have a gate now and it did not work once but I called the owner and it was resolved right away. They have cameras and canceling the storage unit was so easy! Good job!

This is a very well run storage operation. We have seasonal events in Durango for the Alzheimer's Association and the staff are great to work with whenever we need anything!!

Units are Constantly broken into due to lack of a LOCKED perimeter fence. Piss poor cameras that lack the resolution to tell a prius from a pickup. My unit had the locks cut off on 2 separate occasions and the owner kept my deposit upon move out due to a "constant nuisance" dealing with the police over my unit. 1000's of dollars of my stuff stolen and he keeps my deposit because it was a burden to talk to the police on the phone... little to no lighting at night, mice enter units with ease. Need to use a dolly? Prepare for a lovely 4 inch "step" to get into each unit.. save your money and go to a real storage facility.

I would not rent a unit here again if had a choice hindsight is 2020! My storage unit got broken into and it was at least that day it was the only one and only my carpenter tools were gone nothing else. About 5 thousand dollars in tools and when I asked Brad who is the manager/ owner he said he would review the one camera for suspects. Well a couple days later I called him back and he stated he hadn't had time to check the footage but he would soon. Well that was a lie everytime I confronted him about it he just blew me off to the point that I am convinced either the camera is fake or he had something to do with it!!!Don't rent at Grandview storage

If you are considering renting storage space from Grandview Storage because of the seemingly affordable price, you should also factor in how much your items are worth. We paid the monthly fee in addition to about $30,000 dollars and the end of our livelihood.

If you are considering renting storage space from Grandview Storage because of the seemingly affordable price, you should also factor in how much your items are worth. We paid the monthly fee in addition to about $30,000 dollars and the end of our livelihood. In April 2020, we found our storage unit had been broken into and from our estimation, almost $30,000 of our belongings have been taken. Rental insurance or home-owner insurance covers about $1,000 of what is stolen if you are including this in your budget. The agreement we signed when we started our rental period states the facility is not responsible for theft and this is certainly true. It appears one video camera is the only effort to protect the property besides Brad's recommended brand of padlock. Upon our own investigation, we found the recommended lock was one of the easiest locks to pick according to online reviews. What we can say with certainty is someone from the apartments near Grandview Storage watched us unload tools into the unit. The people who broke into our unit were meticulous and were able to unpack over twenty stacked boxes without anyone noticing, including Grandview Storage. After the police report was filed, we discovered the people who very easily picked the recommended lock opened every box. We have estimated over $20,000 of diesel mechanic tools were stolen in addition to furniture and collectable items. What they did leave was damaged and we will never know everything that was taken. The Durango police said there was nothing they could do. We recommend storing your things elsewhere. Spend the money to use a storage company with a fence, security cameras, security lights, and better accountability. The extra cost a company spends on security will be a cost that you pay for with a slightly higher fee, but at least you will not pay with your belongings. Renting storage space from Grandview Storage was probably one of the worst mistakes of our lives.

We left our stuff here while being homeless for two months. When we came back nearly $10,000 worth of stuff was missing and the lock was not cut or altered. The man running the operation was very sketchy, he asked us to get a specific lock and upon researching afterwards we learned this particular lock is notoriously easy to pick. When confronted by the police this man claimed we hadn't paid rent in a month and he was considering auctioning off our stuff anyway (which is illegal until after 3 months.) He also told the police that he quite often has to removed these locks from lockers and therefore he knows how to pick them. He mysteriously removed the video camera and claimed that the footage he did have was "unavailable." He then lied and told us this was the first time it had happened to anyone which the police later confirmed as false going as far to say that they get many calls a year about these particular units. He was rude and not very sympathetic when we informed him of our missing items. This tragedy was devastating and while I am not sure that this man was the thief, he does seem to be the suspicious person involved. Either way don't rent from here unless you want everything to be stolen.

These people must not want any business. I just tried to call to find out some information regarding units as I am needing to set one up and have it ready by next week. A man answered the phone and didn't even identify himself with a company or anything, just said hello very abruptly. When I asked if they had temperature controlled units, he abruptly said no. So I just ended the phone call. For real tho, if you want business, you should probably try answering the phone pleasantly. Thanks but no thanks. I might even get a non temp unit with someone else who can be a little more present and pleasant.
