Pricey experience. With little common sense approach suggestions for those less fortunate therefore unable to jump into a $300+ invoice.

Dr. Foster was the most inhumane "helper" I've ever come across. I brought an aging senior dog into the office that had pronounced anxiety due to some recent environmental changes. I was desperate to try anything to help my buddy alleviate his symptoms. She refused to answer pointed questions about medications - both name brands and dosage amounts. She then accused me of doctor shopping for "scheduled narcotic medications." Excuse me? I verbalized that she was being offensive and deflective with me and my distressed dog. She then indicated that I might be getting meds today and I might not and that she "wasn't sure." I continued to ask her pointed questions - which is well within my rights as a dog owner/patient! I told her I was tired of being disrespected by her and for her to please to put me onto another Doctors schedule within the practice and she told me to leave! "Get out!" That was being rude to her! She slammed the door so loud in my face - it sounded like a rifle crack. So I left and went down the street to Vail Valley Animal Hospital and had a wonderful experience with one of their Docs. Do NOT go to "Dr. Foster" at Castle Vet under any circumstances! You'll thank me later.

Everyone here was so nice to my new 8 month old husky. Very professional, polite with the dog and obviously genuinely do this for the love of animals. Great environment and staff

Dr. Denny Simonton and the staff are the most caring and professional staff in our area. Denny is a skilled and seasoned professional and his ability to make sense of your options while being sensitive and caring is as good as it can be. I’m very grateful for the team’s expertise, loving nature, and professionalism. The prices are fair and worth every penny for your loved ones. I can’t recommend them enough.

I took my dog in after he was attacked by another dog. Dr Foster was very rude with me. She screamed at me on the phone after I asked for an itemized list of the cost of services because the price seemed very high. She told me that they are the only vet in the valley that will take a dog so last minute and could charge whatever’s they wanted. She threatened me and I asked to pick my animal up. When I picked my dog up she would not even prescribe him an antibiotic. She showed she doesn’t care about animals or the needs of animals and only making money. Find another vet that is honest and priced fairly.

We had an emergency with our pup and these were the only vets in town that would squeeze us in. They took great care of our little girl and us. Kind, informative and great to work with. We recently had to get some stitches in her paw and same story. Went in for a routine appointment and just asked them to look at her foot. They recommended the stitches and got it done very quickly. Highly recommended.

So just beware, they are unable to give accurate quotes. So if you get a quote for service, get it in writing! They told us it would be around $450 to euthanize my old boy, but when the bill came it was actually $650! They promised me it would not be billed as an emergency service, but there was an emergency charge on there. It was $79. I asked to have the $79 removed. They refused. I should have asked for $200 refunded since the quote was so far off! I just wanted the emergency charge removed because it wasn’t an emergency, and had I known they would charge me for that, I would have scheduled it for a different day. Regardless, the front desk woman, Jackie, told me she would ask the owner about refunding the $79. I heard nothing. Not a phone call to follow up, nothing. Two weeks go by and I hadn’t even heard whether or not my dog’s ashes were back. So I called and they were, but no one bothered to call me. They said, “sorry, someone was supposed to call.” I used to work at a veterinary hospital and we had dedicated quotes to hand out for specific procedures like euthanasia and dental cleanings. It specifically said in those quotes that the price could fluctuate by $50-100 but at least it was a ballpark. Kind of surprised they don’t follow the same or similar business practice. Instead, they like to give quotes and charge for $200 over! The front desk person showed little remorse and refused to own up to her mistake, even though she remembered specifically telling me that there WOULD NOT be an emergency charge. Pretty sad business practices. Also, if I’m going to spend $650 to euthanize my dog, the least they could do is send a card. That is something we always did at my veterinary hospital, whether or not the client was established or walked into our office that day. I should also warn that if you expect to utilize their Edwards location (which is why I picked this clinic in the first place), they will only do routine exams and vaccinations there. And, it’s likely the front desk staff will screw up your appointment and you will show up in Edwards only for you to find out they put you down for an appt in Eagle. Regardless, I have been a dog owner for over 25 years and usually have 2 dogs at a time so they lost my business. I will be ensuring I tell everyone I know to avoid Castle Peak at all costs unless they don’t care about being screwed over! It is so hard to find good veterinary care in this valley!

This was my first experience with Castle Peak Veterinary Service. I have a dog myself who is my world and have always taken him to Eaglevet and couldn't trust them more. I'm hesitant to say anything but as a pet owner who views dogs as part of our families I would never leave him here. I am dog sitting for two sweet girls whom I've looked after for years and there was a stint of five days that their owner had me board them at Castle Peak in Eagle. Things seemed a little bit unorganized when I dropped the girls off which I thought was strange because their owner is very well organized and one of the dogs has a pretty serious health condition which I am sure was discussed when making the arrangements to have them stay there. The front office staff had no idea what I was taking about when I mentioned that she (one of the dogs) may need accommodations, and the woman that took her back to the kennel was short with me while I was trying to explain the situation and rough with the other dog who was visibly nervous about being there to the point that I asked if she would like me to pick her up and carry her back with her, she declined but I was glad to see that she picked her up on her own. Upon returning one of the dogs had an abrasion above her nose and the only reason that it was mentioned to me was because I asked several questions. At the time I was told that it was from knocking her food bowl over. I was assured that the vet had taken a look at it and that the owners would be contacted. They were not. When I called to inquire about why this has not happened a few days later, and the manner in which the conversation was handled did not leave me confident that the owners would be contacted yet again. Additionally the description of how the abrasion took place was completely different than what was explained to me when I picked the girls up. I understand that this was not a serious injury, but when you work with pets or children if an injury occurs ESPECIALLY if the results are visible the parent or owner should be made aware that it has happened, when it has happened not several days later after being asked to do so several times. The situation and how it was handled on three counts is enough for me to not trust leaving animals that I care for at this facility again.

It is a blessing in life to know that your family member that you love so much is in excellent excellent care with Castle Peak Vet! They have been a valued member of our Lives since the early 90s. My daughter even brings her dogs and kitty down all the way from Leadville. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable but they are compassionate, friendly, practical, caring, genuine, and always available in an emergency. You can also depend on their boarding facilities. From the office gang, to the techs, to the vets, to the owners it is truly truly a blessing to work with them through all of the joys and even in all of the sadness.... They have always been there!
