The pharmacy techs and pharmacists/floats are horrible. My mother in law had a seizure and needed her medication filled so we picked this pharmacy for her as this is the pharmacy we normally use. She was dispensed the incorrect medication and fell very ill after taking her first doses. When I asked her to see the medication I noticed it was a completely different one from what the dr ordered. She is a foreigner and has no insurance she can use here in the US so you can imagine the burden it is to have to take her in again because of the pharmacy staff not double checking and being careful. When I went in to get the script back, I will no longer be providing my service, I told the owner/pharmacist that I wanted him to know that due to their “error” my mother in law got very very sick and he replied ‘I can Imagine.’ You can imagine what?! Have you done this before? He also would snicker every time I would say something as if it was my fault he has poor staff and 0 professionalism. I am still in awe that not even the pharmacists caught this error as they should be triple checking prior to letting any meds go out the door. This could most definitely have been prevented and this is not an honest or human mistake, especially when it comes to medications and people with serious illnesses. I hope they get better, responsible staff and that they become a bit more kind, especially when they made the error. This is never the patient or family’s mistake. We trusted this pharmacy for so many years and never thought the staff would become so comfortable to not check their work. Use them if you wish, but like I said to a customer before leaving, “Make sure to check your meds before taking them.” Lesson learned.

My wife and I, both retired pharmacists of more than 40 years, were very impressed. Especially with the insurance capitation levels and the pressure that puts on independents these days. Very professional and efficient. 5 stars. Bob and Roberta

I live in the Valley 5 months a year with the remainder of the year in Austin. My primary physician is in Austin. Vail Valley Pharmacy has been extremely helpful transferring prescriptions back and forth. I highly recommend them should you have any Pharmacy needs even if the doctor is out of state.

Enough is enough, guys. I'm in from out of town and had an emergency Wednesday evening. I tried calling Wednesday but they had already closed for the holiday at 5. Totally understand that but...I called this morning (Friday) once they were supposed to open but their phones were completely off when they were supposed to be open. I tried again this afternoon and someone put me on an interminable hold and no one ever came to the phone. Where I am from no pharmacy ever closes-these guys should consider themselves lucky and provide the best customer service possible when they come back from a break. I know I have an out of state phone number, but I'm also a person who was in need of pharmacy care.

Been coming to this pharmacy for years and it's been great. I can not say that anymore. Because of an insurance change( that I never knew about) this pharmacy will not fill my normal prescription that they have filled for over a year and half. I called and spoke with the owner Bruce. He told me that they would not fill my prescription because of the new billing way, not that they can't fill it but won't because they no longer make money off filling this prescription . This is a medication that I have to take every 8 hrs or I will end up in Emergency Room. I find it hard to believe that I place I've been coming to loyally for so long is willing to refuse my prescription over money when it will land me in the hospital. I even asked just to fill it one more time till I could figure why it's changed. Since I only have 2 days left. Guess the money is more important than my healthcare. Even when they made double off the refill for a year and a half. Plus you would think as a good business owner would realize that you could get the rest of my prescriptions for life for being a good human and part of the community.

The woman I spoke with on the phone hung up when I told them what I have been paying for medication at other pharmacies in the valley. Very professional!

Lauren and Claudia were Extremely Helpful and Knowledgeable! The Vail Valley Pharmacy across from the old Gore Range Brewery is THE BEST PHARMACY IN THE VALLEY and a beautiful store for gifts and necessities!

I work in the same profession in another state. The pharmacist August was so caring to help a patient find their medicine while on vacation. This is the type of pharmacist you want in your corner. I’m glad to see that there are still pharmacists that care about their patients no matter where they travel to.
