Like another recent story, doors were locked at 9:10 AM. We called the number posted, and they said they didn't think anyone would show up today because of the snow (we maybe got half an inch). One of the first things they said over the phone was, "Well, are you going to buy something?" I mean... we were hoping to, but we'd like to see the trees in person. They ended the conversation by saying, "Well, we're doing stuff we'll be in around 11." If they said they were running late or having staffing issues that would've been understandable, but to ask us if we were going to buy something and fabricate something about the weather, that's ridiculous. Not to mention, it sounds like they were able to staff the store during their posted hours, but decided not to. No one seems like they want to work these days...

So... Found this nursery online, and checked out their website for an idea of inventory and hours.Went during business hours, but everything was locked? No sign on the door describing anything other than they're open 9-5.Not sure if it's common here, but makes it really difficult to patronize local business if customers don't know when they're expected to show up?Unfortunately, we'll have to look for a nursery that has more reliable hours. Which is really unfortunate.

I purchased trees from Holly Acres for the 2nd time after we had great success with our previous purchase of bare-root fruit trees. Unfortunately none of the 12 trees we purchased this year grew. We contacted the nursery after we were sure none were going to grow and were basically told they weren’t going to do anything to make it right. It would not have been as much of an issue if one or two trees didn’t grow, but all of them?I would also like to mention that after our first purchase, I ordered asters and burning bushes on-site when we picked up our trees, paid upfront and were told they would be available later in the spring/summer . We were to be notified when they were ready. We never heard from anyone. After that issue, I said I would not purchase any trees from them again, but after having such great success with our first instant orchard I thought why not? Well, now I have been burned twice by Holly Acres.

We spent thousands of dollars there on trees and they sent us a dying tree. They picked out the trees for us and It was obviously dying and yellow when it arrived at our house. We immediately contacted them and they basically said no give backsies! I could see that being the case if I picked the tree and I didn’t take good care of it. But they picked it and sent it knowing it was dying! We used their recommended delivery and planting person (who was fantastic and would recommend him) but we had no way of bringing a 500lb tree back to them which is why we paid for deliver and planting in the first place. I’ve emailed the owner and they never respond. We did everything right (we are avid gardeners and even had a professional watering system out in and there was just no saving this diseased tree!Absolutely ridiculous that you treat customers this way! I would highly recommend you go elsewhere for your trees! It’s not worth it to buy a slightly less expensive tree if it’s going to die anyway. Use another nursery with far better looking trees! There are plenty around.I’ve included pictures of the tree when it arrived and now that it’s completely dead!

My husband and I purchased 3 shrubs late this afternoon. My thanks to the two young employees who were very helpful and didn't mention that they closed at 5 PM. We probably checked out with our shrubs at about 5:10 PM and neither of them said a word and offered to help load our shrubs. Class act!

Like other recent customers, I have had poor outcomes with trees purchased at this location. Despite placing a pre order, I was not informed that a tree was sold out until I unpackaged my trees at home to find a different species. I had been given a substitute without acknowledgment or communication. Another shrub was dead at delivery. One tree has yet to leaf. When calling the location, staff refer me to email the owner. Over the last month, I have emailed the owner twice without response. I will also be taking my business elsewhere and recommend that you do the same.

I have been multiple times and purchased trees in containers which were fairly priced and turned out well.I needed some ten foot blue spruce trees and pre-ordered 3 for approximately $700 each in the winter for spring planting.I went with the installer the nursey recommended who picked up the trees, delivered, and installedWhen he showed up and planted one of the spruce trees it was already dying.I also noticed a white fungus on the trunk. We immediately called the nursery and were told they don't have a refund policy. We reached out to the owner with no response.Essentially they ripped me off and sold me an infected tree that is dying / dead tree.Update:The tree is complete bare and dead just two months after buying. I purchased other trees that are lush green ( I installed an irrigation system the 2nd day).Reply to the owner:My wife and I have emailed you multiple times with no response. I pre-ordered the tree and did not pick it out. You or your nursery staff did and it showed up half dead.In hindsight I should of verified what trees were selected for the pre-order, but I never could fathom a nursery would sell such a sick looking tree at full price (normally it is just shape and size you would have to select). It is just plain bad business and other buys should be warned.

I’ve bought a few dozen trees and shrubs the past three years with varying success and there’s usually pests on a few of them. This spring, one of the cherry trees I bought was dead on arrival and all of the apple trees I bought showed signs of apple scab as soon as they leafed out. The peach trees are doing fine. I’m taking my business elsewhere after this year. I don’t want to fight for quality or customer service.

I'm all about supporting local businesses, but this was a tough one. The layout feels very unorganized, many of the plants were inaccessible, and only about half of the inventory included any information on the plant. A lot of the plants were in very poor condition but still being sold at high prices.

I went in to buy a maple and the staff was completely unhelpful. They had a limited supply and nothing was tagged for prices. Had to search for help and they said the trees were all tagged, but couldn’t find a tag of any kind on a single tree. No map of where things were and no isles labeled. Just vague instructions of where things were. So many better places around to get trees, they didn’t seem to care for my business at all.

Lots of bare root plants turned out to be duds. This place has a no refund or replacement policy for bare roots. Every online plant store seems to have at least a year guarantee. Wasted a lot of money and time on dead plants. Definitely recommend shopping at online stores to have the guarantee.

Wonderful variety of plants, shrubs and flowers to choose from, and all reasonably priced. We spent a lot of time there, and one person who helped us was very friendly, another was less helpful.
