We just moved into the neighborhood, and we were so excited to try this restaurant. We tried the bakery a couple of weeks ago and it was amazing, so we had high expectations for the restaurant. It was Saturday night, and we waited 40 minutes to be seated, which was expected. However, from there, the food was downhill. We ordered calamari to start, and it was terrible. Probably the worst I’ve ever had. It was rubbery and very little flavor-and $18!!!. Then we ordered our meals, chicken Parmesan, and lasagna, both very basic Italian dishes. The lasagna was fine, nothing spectacular, but fine. The chicken Parmesan was cold, so we sent it back, and then it came back and it was not breaded and very flavorless. We sent it back for the second time and got sausage, peppers, and onions. They tasted good, but really, how do you mess that up? And to top it off, we got charged for everything that we ordered, even with all of the mess ups, nothing was comped. So it ended up being a $75 dinner, plus a $40 bar tab, and they knew they messed up because we got several apologies. Unfortunately, we will not be visiting here again, even though it is in walking distance to our house, and the bakery was good. The fact that the food was not good, and they did nothing to make up for it, made up our mind, that that will be the first and last time we eat here. Sad. Very disappointing!!

This family-owned business is the gem of Denver. We moved to town last fall and bring every friend who visits here. You may have to wait a few minutes to get seated but it’s easy to pass time at the bar. The staff is personable and warm, and their cannoli — particularly the pistachio one — is the best I’ve ever had! Their vodka sauce is also to-die-for. Definitely stop by for arancini, and make sure you order an Italian soda with cream.

The joint was almost empty when we entered, yet most of the tables and the floor were dirty. We almost walked out, but Aaron was kind and friendly. He sat us down quickly. We ordered drinks and a starter. We were a bit leary of ordering the caprese salad due to tomatoes being out of season, but it was tasty nonetheless. The garlic knots were hot and delicious. My chicken piccata was pretty solid. Boss Lady's lasagna was ok (she makes a better one), but we enjoyed our meals, although they needed salt badly. All in all, the meal was just Ok. Probably won't be back.

Went there to buy some cookies and they are very good. However I would appreciate a little more transparency as far as prices being posted on the display case as I am a poor college student (is this an unreasonable request?) Also ended up waiting quite a while for anyone to come to the bakery counter.

WOW!! My husband and I picked up dinner at Gallo, and it was AMAZING!! We ordered the bruschetta, side of meatballs, chicken marsala and veal piccata!! Everything was absolutely delicious, this is our new favorite Italian restaurant in Denver, we can't wait to try more dishes!!!

My favorite neighborhood eatery. Their desserts are amazing - I’m a huge fan of their pistachio cannolis and their lobster tail. Their bruschetta is my favorite bruschetta; their chicken piccata is my go-to order - I now compare piccata everywhere to Gallo. My mother in law loves their bolognese. Toasted ravioli are good too.Prices are just right and the restaurant is comfortable and homey. It’s family owned and the staff is friendly and kind. Portion sizes are good.

2.24/2024 The sauce or gravy used tasted like it was an old pantry favorite of chef boyardee with the same color. I ordered Eggplant Parmigiana, didn’t eat it all, too salty and bad sauce. Others in my group ordered Clam and meatball pasta dishes. All were overrated heavily salted, over oiled, and charged for more than one small meatball. No bread offered with meals. Service was terrible with order not taken accurately, slow, and many requests for service during the meal. The female server “rolled” her eyes when we apologized for asking other servers to attend to our table. Drinks were decent and bar service good. I will not return due to sub par food. Ambiance good, as is location. Parking in the back, is shared by several other restaurants. Englewood needs good restaurants. This is NOT one. I’m a great cook, know Italian gravy, picky about what I get served, and enjoy good food. Gallo was disappointing. I will not return.
