James, Clarissa and the team really helped me with my last minute car emergency. I was able to walk in without any appointment and leave my car with them for the weekend and got the keys in my hand the following week. James kept me updated every step of the way as they thoroughly examined my car and left no stone unturned. Highly HIGHLY recommend coming to them. <3

Worst mechanic experience of my life. I don't what's a better word to describe this shop, shameful or predatory.I tried this place on a whim based off of location for me. I was overdue for an oil change and needed some sounds investigated. The issues with this shop were apparent immediately, from the receptionists attitude and how she begrudgingly dealt with me (the only customer there), and more specifically how they told me at the last minute, practically when I'm handing them my keys, that oh by the way, did we tell you we charge $150 for diagnostics? I responded, No, no one told me. And I wish they had because of course I would have gone to another shop. Now I'm in a bind with transportation and other schedule accommodations made for today, and I really need to get this done, so fine, I'll pay it. There's nothing wrong with charging a fee to inspect a car, but I told them I expect a "full point inspection" to which they agree.I did not receive a "full point inspection" for $150. Not even close. They call me with their findings, and I go to pick up my car, and the only thing they have for me is my invoice which only has MY descriptions of the issues going on with my car. I tell the receptionist this is unacceptable and they scramble to find the mechanic that worked on my car so they can jot down some of his findings on my invoice. At this point from the phone call and picking it up they tell me it came in on low oil, needed rotors replaced, needed some bushings replaced. But as I'm asking them to walk me through everything there in the shop with the mechanic its revealed that, Oh by the way it also has an oil leak! This was the first time hearing about this from the phonecall which explained the diagnosis and picking it up in the shop. Why was that omitted? That's incredibly important, and it was like pulling teeth to get them to tell me my car had an oil leak.Go out to the car, pop the hood, wow there is oil coating the engine block. I ask the mechanic, so where is the leak coming from? the block, a gasket or other component? He said he didn't know because he would have to take off the timing cover to figure that out. Gee if only I JUST paid you $150 to inspect every component of this vehicle and you couldn't even take off a cover to FIND AN OIL LEAK? At this point I already knew I had to take it to another shop to get another opinion after these clowns, so I paid $250 total for an oil change and half of a diagnosis that left me wondering. As a bonus as I'm finishing my bill another mechanic asks if they found my oil leak and my mechanic just laughs and says "no but I offered him $500 bucks for it!" This is sadly true. The next shop that I take it to, looks at it and is able to identify the leak and a component burning oil within minutes. The timing cover that was too much for max auto took under 10 minutes to remove here. And to add further insult to injury, at the shop I took it to work on the rotors and pads immediately after maxauto found that my wheels had a cross-threaded bolt on them that they would have to cut off and replace in order to fix the rotors. Maxauto didnt say anything about that so I can only assume they crossthreaded the bolt seeing as I directly drove my car from their shop to the new one.So $250 for an oil change, half a diagnosis, and a freshly cross-threaded bolt.(which cost me to replace)I'll let you decide if you think this sounds like a good place to take your car to.edit: they did refund me in full, but never took ownership of the situation or offered an apology.

They were great! They fixed the brakes on my car even better than the past mechanic who worked on it, and did it extremely quickly! I will go there again.

I wanted to update my review with these guys. I have been to car shops all over Littleton and Lakewood in the course of the few years I have owned my 06 Mazda3, and I have yet to have a shop treat me as well or impress me as much as this shop has in the past two weeks. I originally took my roommate's Hyundai in for an oil change since my Mazda was not driveable (it would rarely start). While I was there, James began asking me questions what was up with my car, and I explained that another shop had recently ran a diagnostic and told me definitively I needed a new engine, which they quoted me $5,000-$7,000. Because I love my car, and the car does have 250,000 miles, I was 100% expecting to swap the engine and pay the entire $5,000. James encouraged me to bring in the car so they could do a treatment that should loosen a "stuck piston ring", which the other shop had told me was the reason behind my car not starting. The treatment was only $38, which I figured would definitely be worth it if it would solve my issue (that's $4,962 cheaper than a new engine, lol), so I decided to schedule an appointment with them. While it was there, the guys at Max told me that it was actually a bad starter (I forget the tech's name, but he knew why my car wouldn't start WHILE WE WERE STILL IN THE PARKING LOT before he even pulled my Mazda into the bay). I'm not sure how shop after shop that I dropped my car off at the past few months missed this, but either way I was super relieved. When I got to the shop, James explained to me that I had received either faulty or false PSI readings from the shop that had told me I needed a new engine, showed me the correct readings that they metered before and after the engine treatment.I got my starter replaced by Max Automotive the following week, as well as a valve cover replacement. The issue with my car not starting was fixed as promised by this new starter, and the entire bill ended up being around $600 for all three of these services. This shop took the time to really care about me as a customer, and literally saved me thousands and thousands of dollars in the process and saved me from so much potential financial strain. Their expertise is obvious, as is their concern for their customers. I really don't think I will ever take my car to another shop again as long as I live in Denver, and am so glad I found this place. Thank you guys so much again from the bottom of my heart!!Services: General repairs & maintenance
