Couldn’t recommend Off Leash enough -Stevie is an incredible trainer! We brought our 4 year old doggo in after a series of aggressive interactions with other dogs.
Stevie taught her a series of commands over 4 weeks, brought out other dogs as distractions during trainings, and gave us homework to practice with our dog in between sessions.
She really helped our pup build confidence and in our final lesson our pup was able to play with another dog for the first time in years. 10/10 would recommend, we couldn’t be happier with the results!

Absolutely fantastic! Our daughter used these folks 10 years ago, and her dog grew up to be extremely loyal and obedient. Derek was amazing, competent and open to all questions. I could definitely feel the love and compassion he had for our dog. I highly recommend this company.

We decided to go with Off- Leash K9 Training for our 7month old, 60 pound lab mix named Roman. Before he went here he wouldn’t listen to us and was uncontrollable in public, we couldn’t bring him anywhere and he always barked at other dogs. We signed up for the 2 week board and train program based on a recommendation and it was easily the greatest investment we have ever made. Derek worked with Roman and got him more comfortable in the car, took him to stores/parks, and taught him to stay in one place even in public. We loved working with Derek and hearing about all of Roman’s progress each day. We feel so much more comfortable taking Roman out now, we can already enjoy the parks and breweries with him. This training has also allowed us to let our cats roam freely throughout the house again (we had them sectioned off to the basement initially because of the pup). We highly recommend Off-Leash K9 Training and Derek for any training issues! You won’t regret it.

We reached out to Off Leash K9 Training two weeks ago for help with our 11-month-old German Shepherd, Aspen. She struggled with a few behaviors — jumping, counter surfing, not following commands, and getting distracted during walks, to name a few.
From day one, Derek was amazing. He provided detailed daily updates and videos showing Aspen’s progress, which really put our minds at ease. Derek is incredibly knowledgeable and connected so well with Aspen.
After her two-week board and train program, Aspen came home noticeably more disciplined and responsive. During our two-hour handoff session, Derek took the time to train us as well — showing us how to properly enforce the commands place, come, sit, down, heel, off, and break. He made sure we felt confident and comfortable before heading home.
We’re so happy with the results and know Aspen’s continued success will come from staying consistent with everything she’s learned. Thank you, Derek and the Off Leash K9 team, for your professionalism, care, and dedication!

I would recommend this company to anyone with a dog. Stevie was great and my dog loved her. I did the 1 week board and train. The difference this has made with me and my dog is incredible. I just can't describe how much this has helped. My Mila is confident and is doing great. Thank you Stevi!!

We did the 2 week board and train for Marley. Prior to the board and train we had been working with Marley full time for 4 months using only positive reinforcement. However, we were still struggling with loose leash walking, recall, and reactivity around squirrels, rabbits, and bikes. With the 2 weeks board and train we now have all of those under control and Marley can truly enjoy the freedom she deserves as we travel around hiking, biking, and camping. Like they say at the intro, this training is not a fix and we will have to keep up with her training for the next several months. However, we hope that timeline is only 3 months with the e-collar instead of the recommended 12 with dedicated focus, fun, and training.
Derek was great and sent us videos daily. He established the necessary foundation we needed to get over those hurdles in a short period of time. My sister recommended this program to us and I would recommend it to others as well. Thank you!

I am a returning customer! After just 7 days board & train, my puppy came home knowing all her commands and is night & day from the dog 7 days ago! Both my dogs (former & current one) were trained by Derek and he’s amazing! He sends videos daily to update on progress and promptly answered all my questions. I may be getting another dog and I will definitely reach out to Off Leash k9 for training!

My husband and I did the basic obedience training with Dan. We have a French Bulldog and to be honest I had very low expectations of him. I was impressed with Dan from the very beginning of the training. His patience with Mike (our dog), confidence, passion for the program, knowledge of dogs in general and guidance with us was really outstanding. He was able to allow Mike to gain confidence even through the typical bulldog stubbornness. Mike excelled and in turn we did as well. We are truly grateful for this program, that is the start of a lifelong commitment to keeping Mike trained and happy.

Before we brought our 80# Airedale to Derek (and Stevie) he was very hard to control. While Airedales are a pretty gentle breed and great family dogs, our Milo doesn’t know how big he is and in trying to be friendly or playful menaced older people and children. On our walks he playfully lunged at every person, dog or rabbit he saw. But an 80# dog lunging on a leash was very unpleasant and unsafe. He made me quite afraid he would pull me down or hit my knees in a damaging way.
But now after a two-week intensive training with Derek at Off-Leash we can trust him anywhere with anyone. Now our walks are enjoyable, and we’re getting lots more of them in. Milo is like a new dog. Not only is he now obedient, he is also happier and more calm all-around. We are happier too. I wish we’d taken Milo to Derek 4 years ago when he joined our family! We will never own another dog that isn’t trained at Off-Leash as early as possible. Clara La Rosa

Dan is an amazing dog trainer!
He’s incredibly patient, kind, and truly passionate about what he does. My dog Nina absolutely loved working with him — and I saw a huge improvement in her behavior and confidence. Dan takes the time to understand each dog and tailors the training to fit their personality. You can tell he genuinely cares. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a professional, trustworthy, and all-around awesome trainer!

Booking with Off-Leash K9 Training was the best decision I have ever made. Derek, is an absolute rockstar! From the time I brought my 9 month old mini Golden Doodle for his visit to the very end, I felt at ease knowing that he would be in such great hands. Derek made sure to send me videos daily, didn't hesitate to respond to any/all of my texts throughout the day (annoying dog mom, i know), and made sure that even during the hottest days, my little fur baby was well taken care of. Since pick up post 1-week board and train, my little has been a happy but obedient snuggle bug, and one that I no longer am chasing around trying to pull my hair out.
Knowing that I can continue to use Derek as a resource in the coming weeks/months is also an incredible part of this program!
I highly, highly reccommend not only Off-Leash, but Derek as well. As the 6th pup from my family to become a part of the Off-Leash crew, I know that we will not look elsewhere as we continue to add to our growing families!

Derrick and his team at Off-Leash K9 Training are exceptional! I brought them a Rottweiler puppy and a two-year-old Boxer, and both returned fully trained with significantly improved behaviors. I wholeheartedly recommend their services!

We did the 2 week board and train for our Border Collie mix when he was 5 months old. It was the best decision we could have made, I have 100% confidence in my dog. The refreshers have been great as well. Derek has been a fantastic resource along the way as well. I cannot say enough good things about him.

We had an incredible experience with Off-Leash K9 Training! Our trainer, Derek, was absolutely amazing to work with. Before training, our dog Brody struggled with simple commands and was especially difficult on walks. After just one week with Derek, Brody came back a completely transformed dog.
Derek kept us updated with regular videos showing Brody out and about—at the park, the mall, even Lowe's—getting real-world practice around other people and animals. It was so reassuring to see the progress and know he was in great hands.
Off-Leash K9 Training came highly recommended by a neighbor, and now we’re doing the same. I would recommend them (and Derek!) ten times over. Thank you for helping us enjoy our dog even more!

I hit a wall with some private training sessions. As soon as the lead comes off, my dog could care less what treats I may have in my pocket or how much repetition. Escape the yard? Forget it. While expensive, I couldn't imagine my dog getting away and inevitably getting hit by a car. Derek's program fixed all of it. I now only use a leash as a curtesy for other dog walkers. I can let her explore on her own and know she will always recall. Totally brought me piece of mind.
