My husband and I did a snowshoe hike with John on the first full day in Estes Park for our honeymoon. We had a blast and saw some seriously incredible views! It was our first time snowshoeing and John was patient when we needed breaks. He was super knowledgeable on where to go, off the paved trail, and was so fun to hike with. It was the perfect way to kick off our trip. Would definitely recommend! Thank you, John!

What a great experience with Kirks Fly Shop! My husband and I did a 4 hour guided fly fishing trip in Rocky Mountain National Park with our guide, Stephen. The process of booking and coordinating everything was super easy, and the staff was always friendly and available by phone for questions. We also appreciated being able to purchase our fishing licenses directly from them. This was our first time fly fishing and Stephen did a great job helping, teaching, and making the experience a lot of fun! We are so grateful that we booked with this company and would recommend them to all our family and friends!

Booked Chase in July and he was the most AMAZING guide! Chase was great with my little one too. He was patient, engaging, and made those 4 hours fly by! I can’t recommend booking Chase enough, especially if you have kids. Chase took the time to explain and teach fly fishing techniques and made our first ever fishing excursion experience wonderful. We can’t wait until we go back to Colorado. We will definitely book Kirks Flyshop and Chase again!

From the store to the river the entire staff was outstanding! John was such a great guide! He was very patient and helpful with my wife and I. Being this was our first time fly fishing, John made sure we felt confident and answered all of our questions with great knowledge. I HIGHLY recommend booking a trip!

Outstanding place. Friendly people. I'm a virgin fly fisher. This was my first go at fly fishing. In Estes Park for wedding and had a Saturday to kill. Booked 4 hour guided trip. Duane was my guide and he was excellent. Very patient with an old guy who never did this. Taught me the basics and off we went. He pointed me in right direction and we fished the Big Townsend river. Caught 4 rainbows and a nice brown. He showed me the tricks and said if I kept at it , in 5 years I might be an expert. He had a great sense of humor even though I fell in the river once and lost my footing once. Didn't know fishing was a contact sport Highly recommend and hope to come back.

My wife and I had a great experience with Kirks. John Carey guided us to a beautiful location in the park. He was great; polite, friendly, patient. My wife and I each caught two brown trout-it was a highlight to see my wife holding the fish she just caught. He also pointed out a rare and beautiful Wood Lily-super cool.I spent much of my remaining vacation thinking about this experience.Thanks to John for an awesome time!

Had an amazing guided trip with Dwayne on Big Thompson. Super knowledgeable, friendly, and taught me so much in the span of 6 hours. Also great shop, they have all the expertise and equipment/flys that you would ever need. Thank you for making my trip to Estes awesome!

We used several guides from local shops for a week of fly fishing in Estes Park, Big Thompson, and near Cameron Pass. Tim Phillips out of Kirk's was the best by a wide margin. He knows the waters intimately, is uncommonly pleasant to hang around with, and far exceeded our expectations. My father will be contacting him for a beginner's trip with one of dad's grand-daughters and I'll insist on him for our guide when I return. It didn't hurt that the lunches provided by the shop were excellent.

Matt was fantastic! Coached a newbie and a not newbie to success! Was patient and removed my line from the bushes when I became entangled. Was fun! We each caught several fish, cutthroat, browns, brook, next time going for the rainbow! Matt knew exactly where to go and where to cast. Totally worth the money!

Our guided fly fishing trip with Greg was amazing!! I wanted to expand my son's love for fishing and let him develop more skill under his belt. Greg is super knowledgeable, explains every detail of the process and super friendly. We enjoyed it so much that we made a trip to a sporting store to look at equipment after our morning of fishing. Would highly recommend Kirk's for rentals and their guide, Greg.

My husband and I booked a 4 hour fly fishing trip with our guide Chase and had a great time! We opted to pay a little extra for fishing the shop's private land and it was so worth having a whole stretch of river for ourselves. Chase was helpful and funny and took care of everything so all we had to do was fish and relax. I have never fly fished before and was thrilled when I caught multiple fish! I would definitely recommend this experience and Chase as a guide.

My husband and I went to Estes Park for our anniversary and took the fly fishing class at Kirk’s. Our guide, John, was awesome. He taught us the basics then took us to a nice secluded spot on the river and my husband and I caught some lovely trout. John was so friendly and knowledgeable. When we go back, I would love to book with them for a longer excursion.
