The wife and I have been here, what, 4 times, maybe 5, I lost count. Who cares! This is the best. Each time we visit it gets better. You're so close to Fall River entrance to RMNP, can't be beat. The cabins are very cozy with everything you need and they have wood burying fireplaces. I love making fire, maybe something primitive in me I guess. I get in touch with my inner caveman, grunting is happening as I keep the fire going. This location also gives you a chance to see wildlife up close as they walk about the property. Birds, mule deer, the occasional elk. If you have been here years ago you might remember Bart the bull elk. He was a regular stealing the seeds from the bird feeders in front of your cabin! McGregor is the best. Great staff all around. Got to stop and take it all in. Then start planning your next visit here. C'mon, it's right next to a great National Park!

If you're looking for a wonderful cabin with a fireplace that's dog friendly, this is the place. It's literally 2 minutes away from the Gate of Rocky Mountain National Park. It is so clean and so nice and the kitchen has everything you need you don't need to bring utensils or plates or pots or pans. Absolutely amazing location. The staff is so friendly and the main lobby usually has breakfast and coffee. They also offer firewood for much cheaper than the stores around there. Highly recommend this place!

Very nice, peaceful place to stay. My husband and I stayed here for two nights and loved it. My only wish would be to have actual curtains in the bedrooms to make it darker so we can sleep. The shades are the thin “paper” like material and it does not block out any light from the cars coming and going or the little street lights they have. The mornings, we would have liked to sleep in but were woken up around 6am-ish because of how bright the rooms got.Other than that, the complementary bundle of firewood (one a day) the fully functional kitchen and views, made it a great experience.

We stayed here for 1 night in October while visiting Estes Park and enjoyed our stay in the Upper Chalet Suite. It was comfortable and cozy for the 4 of us adults and we appreciated the proximity to RMNP, the welcoming touches (ie: fresh-baked cookies and tea/cocoa in the lobby), and the friendliness of the staff. Would recommend to others or stay here again ourselves.

My wife and I have stayed here several times over a number of years. Consistently a very good experience. We have stayed in one of the several Columbine cabins which are fully functional, one bedroom kitchen cabins with fireplace. They're well maintained, pine paneled and give you that appropriate cabin-in-the-mountains experience. The resort is situated on a south-facing and sunny slope well above the road and very near to the national park's Fall River entrance. The grounds are spacious and open and afford plenty of space to wander around and provide privacy among the varied types of accommodations. My recent stay this week was as pleasant as ever, and even though it is November, I was able to enjoy good hikes in the park in sunny, and dry conditions.Nearby activities: Next to Rocky Mountain National Park. 10 minute drive back into Estes Park.Walkability: Roomy resort with space to wander around the grounds, otherwise drive to other activities.Noteworthy details: Fully equipped kitchen. Sunny exposure. Great view across the valley. Sunny patio space.

We stayed here on a last minute whim. Luckily they had a cancelation. This cabin was super clean, roomy and super cute. The host was super nice. It was on the side of a mountain/hill and was so beautiful. We would stay here again.

My favorite cabin to go to when it's just me and the wife. Love this place, and love the packages they offer.

McGregor Lodge was perfect! We stayed in 8B (Knotty Pine room) and I cannot overstate how much we enjoyed it. The location of the lodge is perfect - it is half a mile from the Fall River entrance to the park (and the visitor center), which made it so easy to run up to Sheep Lakes in the morning and dusk to check out the wildlife. And there is plenty of wildlife to see right from your window! Several bull elk were on the property one day lounging around. There is also a bird feeder in front of every cabin/room on the front side and it was so entertaining to watch all of the different species of birds (crows, magpies, finches, jays etc) along with bunnies and chipmunks. Our window was non stop busy and not to mention the beautiful mountain view! There's also two Adirondack chairs in front of the room and then you get your own personal picnic table across the way. We sat out there one night and looked at the stars and saw the Starlink satellite train go by. We loved our room - it was small, cozy, and decorated well with a cabin theme. The little stove warmed up the room nicely. We could hear some from our neighboring room but it wasn't too bad. Probably the biggest con was the very small (and cheap...) shower but it did get very hot and it did the job. I really appreciated that lip balm was included in the toiletries! The cookies were absolutely delicious and I kept asking my husband to ride me up to the office to grab some more lol. This is definitely the place we will stay again once back in Estes! We had to switch hotels halfway into our trip due to availability and were sooo sad to leave McGregor.

This was a fabulous place. We were able to get in during the busy season. We stayed in one of the one room upper chalets. It was perfect. When we arrived, we were greeted by a kindly gentleman who efficiently checked us in. Then offered home made chocolate chip cookies! Yum. We entered an extremely clean cabin. With full kitchen, fireplace (one bundle of wood provided, more for purchase)An easy chair that my husband claimed immediately. We felt right at home. Our balcony had stunning views. And a small area to BBQ to boot. We slept very comfortable. No complaints about the bed. It was perfect. And they had extra pillows. We didn't need to ask. The next morning we woke up to deer having breaking right at our BBQ area. We watched from our window. It was beautiful. So peaceful. So beautiful. Checkout was fast. No issues. This will be our go to place. We are already thinking about spend one of their Christmas holiday packages there. It sounds amazing.
