The hostess, Sandra, our at Twin Owls waitress, Amber and all the other staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful! We decided to stay in Estes Park and extra night and happened to be eating at Twin Owls on our first night. We mentioned we were considering staying in town another night and Sandra made the whole process of booking super easy! Breakfast in the morning was great and coffee delivered to the room was a nice touch. I enjoyed the non-traditional hotel set up as well. There was not a front desk per se, nor staff everywhere. And yet as soon as we had a question or looked for someone, they were right there! We will definitely be back!!

Paper thin walls. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing. You can hear everything happening in the kitchen and restaurant on the floor below. Outside music blared into our room for hours. The sound of kitchen employees working, loudly slamming doors, pots, pans, and dishes could be heard until 10PM.

I worked with Taharaa to help plan one of my corporate clients holiday party dinner. They were super accommodating, responsive, and took care of our clients. I am looking forward to working with this team again soon!~Taylor Strope, Mountainside Events

This location is absolutely stunning. The staff are all so wonderful. The rooms are cozy. I wish we weren't so busy for the weekend we were there to take full advantage of their amenities, sauna and Jacuzzi, but it'll just give us an excuse to visit again.

What a wonderful mountain getaway. Close to Estes and yet far enough away. So close to Rocky Mountain National Park. The rooms were so comfortable and clean. The staff was so accommodating. We’ll definitely be back.

I struggle writing this review because Beth and her events team were amazing!! She was great to work with and very flexible. I am a strict vegetarian and Chef was very accommodating (stating he would dump his fryer, clean it, and use new oil that didn’t cook meat). The flow of events was perfect and the views were amazing. The whole lodge was bought out by our guests, so it was so fun to be around our loved ones! The issue was, on Sunday after the wedding and check-out, we heard our guest’s experiences with lodging. First, it appears that the plumbing did not work (looking at past reviews, this seems to be an ongoing issue with the property). Two room’s did not have water from the shower. These guests had to use other people’s shower’s (which ended up being 4 people to a shower). My sister-in-law’s toilet would not flush at all. These issues would have been frustrating enough, but what really was tough was how it was handled by management. When my father-in-law approached the manager, she told him to use a plunger, and when he told her that was not working, she told him there was nothing they could do about it and walked away. Also, when guests were checking in, she seemed flustered and made them wait until there was a larger group to do a check-in. If she was kinder about it, it wouldn’t have been an issue, but for my uncles, she made them stand outside, not giving water or the code to go inside, which at 85-90 degree sunny weather was unnecessary. Lastly, when my husband and I checked in, she told me I could have my breakfast in the bridal suite. I told my bridesmaids staying at the property that I would have a scrummy breakfast for them, but if they wanted to eat their breakfast from Taharaa they could eat it in the bridal suite. One of my bridesmaids tried to do this, was yelled at, and so my bridesmaids had to eat in the dining hall area, which separated the group and pushed back my hair and makeup artist’s schedule. It just seemed unnecessary for so many of my guests to be treated rudely. To be clear, I had none of these issues (I was treated very respectfully), but almost everyone approached Matt and I with a story they experienced. This reflects poorly on my husband and I. We had the most perfect wedding in such a beautiful area, so I would strongly recommend getting married at Taharaa and working with Beth (she was very professional and everyone loved the food–not always the case with weddings; 5/5 recommendation), but until they fix some of the plumbing and hospitality aspects, I would not recommend having guests stay in their lodging (Except for their honeymoon suite, this was a very lovely room; we would give them a 2.5/5 review for lodging). As an aside, we were told we could not hear cars at the ceremony site. Our ceremony was so lovely and beautiful, but if future couples are wondering the same question, you can very clearly hear the passing cars. Nothing we could do about it, but just wanted to let y’all know!

Lovely location and views! The room was a bit dated (the twig headboard that was screwed to the wall was quite shaky and needs to be reattached) but comfortable and had a nice sitting area with pretty views out the door to the balcony. Nice big bathroom. Breakfast was tasty and served on time. We did a late check-in with no problem. Just contact them ahead of time and get the access code for the front door. The strangest thing for me was that in the 2 days we were there, we never saw any host(ess) staff. It wasn't like a hotel; it wasn't like a B and B. No "front desk" person to ask typical questions to, no host to welcome guests and give local guidance. It was like the place was being run by some unseen ghost, and it just felt weird. At one point, we wanted to ask for umbrellas before heading out to sightsee, and we had no idea how to get that question answered or who we would have asked anyway. We just ended up taking some umbrellas in the foyer and hoping they belonged to the lodge and not to other guests. At this price point, I'd expect the host to be around at least during the day, wearing a badge to identify himself/herself, or introducing himself/herself to guests.

We had our wedding reception at Taharaa Mountain Lodge in August 2023 and it was wonderful! Beth and Kathy were a great help in planning the event and the day-of-event staff were very kind, professional, and accommodating. We all had a great time and the views were stunning!

If your looking to get away from the Commercial Hotel Chain, this is the spot. Comfortable, Quiet, and Very Relaxing. We had Elk bed down in the field outside our room. Loved our Stay!

Huge disappointment. Stayed there Sept 17th and checked out the 18th. We chose this place because it was tucked away and the fact that they had quiet hours. Well, that is not what it was. There was a wedding party staying there and they were drunk and yelling and slamming doors and stomping around until about 1am. No staff seemed to be there to put a stop to this even though their "quiet hours" are "strictly enforced". It was basically like a frat house filled with drunk people. I about left around midnight because my pregnant wife and I could barely stand it. Also, don't show up early for your breakfast early because staff will be upset and they will make sure you know it also. As someone who stays in Estes Park often and has stayed at plenty of different places in town, this was the worst by far. Only reason I am not giving it one star is because the room wasn't too bad. I don't normally write bad reviews, but this was just a bad experience and I feel people should be warned before wasting their money.*edit* we received a call from management and they were apologetic about the situation. The whole lodge was supposed to be booked by the wedding party but there was an issue with a cancelation and it allowed us to book a room. We received a refund for half our stay so I have upped it to 3 stars from 2. If we stay there again I may bump it up again.

Update: Our return 3 years later was just as nice!Great place to stay! Only minutes to RMNP without having to go through town, and just minutes from town as well. The accommodations are great and the service is excellent! The breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed the Twin Owls restaurant as well. Great fine dining with a view. I would highly recommend to my family and friends!

Beautiful lodge. Very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was great but portions a little large. Late Check-in process was easy and clear. Definitely a great place to stay while enjoying the National park. We marked the room down to 4 stars only because it lacked Kleenex and cups. We did eventually find cups in a customer service center on the first floor but bought a box of Kleenex for the room. We expected those things in our room.
