Alpen Way Chalet Mountain Lodge is a very nice place to stay, an incredible find for a quiet, remote place in a perfect mountain setting. The chalets are unique and full of character, with large, absolutely spotless, and very clean rooms. Guests find the beds very comfortable and the suites offer all the comforts of home, with everything necessary to self-cater including a useful kitchen, BBQ, microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker. The beautiful, extremely well-cared-for grounds are a highlight, featuring a fish pool, gazebo area, outdoor seating, a fire pit, and a wonderful hot tub. Lots of local wildlife pass through, including deer and elk. The owners and staff are very friendly, helpful, welcoming, and nice, with a clear passion and talent for running the lodge. The location is on a road busier than expected with a lot of traffic on the highway. While the awesome little town of Evergreen with its stellar restaurants is within walking distance, the walk is on the road and not recommended; most guests drive. Visitors highly recommend the lodge and would definitely come back, looking forward to returning to the area.
